What a great video! With the recent drop of the $500 UV arrows and $1300 Peax tipi it’s nice to see some gear content for people who don’t hunt for a living. Really appreciate you guys and the Hunting Public guys for relating to the 99%.
Awesome job guys! 3 years ago you inspired me to get out and try it, and your right, once i did it, heard my first bugle, got my first bow draw on a bull, i fell in love! I started with budget gear, and have slowly up graded, and although i haven’t gotten a elk yet, i look forward to just being out in the wilderness of the west every September. Thank you! And god bless!
Great video. IMO the $25 dollar socks from Darn Tough, Duckworth, Filson, etc are totally worth it. 100% wool gives me less blisters, less stink, less athlete's foot, etc. I don't see a downside to them except the cost, but by the time you get outfitted with everything else, the damage has already been done.
Awesome job guys, you guys are starting to be very transparent. Be the working man’s hunting show. With our business building archery targets we want everyone to be able to buy good quality built targets that will last as long you want.
Great video. It’s not to often you see content creators telling you how to save money in the hunting industry. I think you guys nailed it where you do need to spend for better gear.
Great work guys, thanks for reminding us it's not about having the most expensive gear or the next new thing. "Headlamps are like fishing boats, you just need a friend with one." Love it! 🤣 Meat bags, got them, used them, love them.
Great information guys!! Really appreciate you sharing this!! More people need to know its not a fashion contest!!! Also a pair of pants that have been amazing are the wrangle mountain atg pants!! $30! Good job guys!
@@codymccarthy47 these are great pants. Have about 4 pair. Wear them out scouting and look good enough you can throw on a decent shirt and wear them around town for casual
Great video. Just wanted to say that base layers can also generally be found on sale. I often find smartwool and icebreaker shirts for $25-30 and they are great quality.
Great video guys! I found a USB headlamp (with night lamps) from Bushnell (I bought an extra battery pack - Boy Scout), AND the battery pack format exactly fits two AA batteries. They've got both options covered.
This helped me so much! Preparing for my first elk hunt and didn’t want to drop thousands in clothing that I am not sure I need. Plan to build my inventory as I progress and learn what is needed.
Great video fellas, once in a lifetime bull hunt started this week. I'm pinching pennies everywhere i can. That said, I've been looking for you bags since i drew the tag. I hope they're back in stock soon!
Thank you BRO I only need a few things! One easy way too is for Christmas, Birthday or holiday ask for gift cards. That is how I have gotten the majority of my hunting items.
Just FYI camofire has discounted stuff which is already discounted a lot of the times from the main brands. If say there are boots for discount, go to the brand and double check it might be the same discount but you might get free shipping while camofire charges shipping
I love the wrangler outdoors pants. $20-30 a pair and I beat the hell out of them. They have multiple weights. I rock Merrell boots. Like $140 a pair for good gortex hikers.
will we see the whole team together this year on an elk hunt, it's so cool to see you all together even if half the team goes left and the other goes right. it's just fun to see you all together.
3 kids , single income , mortgage , bills , food , school expenses etc etc etc ... milsurp gear and walmart stuff is all i can reasonably justify buying to hunt , hasn't stopped me being successful and i live in canada and hunt regularly in anything from early september high 90*F temps down to -25 and colder in late november.
I ended up going with the Wrangler pants from Walmart but might have to get to get those Costco ones. Would you still wear these pants on days where there is wet conditions but no actual rain?
I've always had a hard time finding good, waterproof, and budget friendly gear for western oregon. Why don't you guys start a hunting clothing line, designed for wet oregon weather
@@brandonwilliams8539 Helly Hansen Impertech. It’s not breathable but guess what when it’s raining hard no rain gear is. And the stuff is waterproof and tough.
Ditto for HH Impertech...it's been my go-to for late season blacktail treestand sits for nearly 20 years. Let it rain baby - you will be dry as long as you don't work up a sweat getting to your stand. If nothing else, it forces you to move slowly, which is what you should be doing anyway 👌
Inreach is worth it. I’ve never had an issue with the service working and it gives huge peace of mind. It’s also a backup GPS if your phone dies. On that note, portable battery charger is a necessity as far as I’m concerned. I use a cheap Anker from Amazon and it’s been ultra reliable. Used solar rechargeable once and it was a pain and never fully recharged.
another costco hack.. you do NOT need a membership.. have someone buy you or order one online a costco giftcard they will let you shop with that. the guys I know that have everything is the Bro Crew, what y'all doing with your old first lite gear?? LOL!
For boots i wear my timberland hikers if u watch your sales get em for 90bucks ....then i wear em out for roofing bout a month before season grab a new pair break em in on roofs 😂
if your katadyn freezes it loses its ability to filter to its original specs , it still works as a particulate filter though , just throw a puritab in after filtering through it to be safe.
Great video, all love here but the title is misleading. “Under 1000 dollars” then the price list at the end 1,757… it was all cheap good gear but that’s in fact not under 1000, nothing wrong with that other than the title, gear cost what it cost and you made it almost as cheap as possible you just should’ve titled it under 2k 🤷♂️
Cool video…. Wanted to joke the big guy for talking over the other guy every step of the way. And then they’d stumble and bumble over each other at times. Bless him. I would have said cut and I’ll do the video by myself just leave not even 5 minutes in. 😂
Bows, boots, pants are one of them things that not one fits all. I bought an RX 5 but knowing and feeling that the Torrex fit and shot better for me. I’m an happy that you guys did this and not just push what sponsors you. Real turn off for me big names pushing high end stuff. Not saying some stuff not worth it. I myself have a mut of the big three being sitka firstlite kuiu. You get the 🤌🤌🤌

What a breath of fresh air! Great video guys. It's so easy to get wrapped up in the super expensive gear rabbit hole!

Very awesome video. I’m really glad that you guys can do stuff like this now that you’re not with first lite
Looking forward for the next videos keep it up! Counting down the days till sept 7th, here in Washington. Goodluck to everyone hunting this season.

I’m a believer and having good equipment. This is exactly what is needed. People think u need high end stuff. But you don’t.
Can’t wait for the hunt videos this year!
Absolutely genius episode! What a great concept.
Great info guys! Keep up the educate, inspire and entertain!
Great topic and approach for saving a few coins...Thanks Born and Raised!!!
Great budget soft shell is the Columbia Ascender jacket, way more wind proof than any "hunting" soft shell i ever owned. Plus under $40
Some good tips. Thanks!
Great episode! Enjoyed your take on the budget gear, informative and great work!
The videos this week have been excellent!
merino wool underwear is a must!! Just like the shirt It’s a game changer.
Thanks for a great video breaking things down on a budget

Just the video I needed really! I already have my list going!
Thanks guys! I drew a bighorn tag in Montana and have nothing so have been looking for a budget list.
Great video and information, guys!

Do a video comparing hunting clothing! (Sitka, First Lite, ETC.)
Totally agree with bow setup works in the east as well as it does out west
Awesome video guys ! Great job with budget breakdown !
Great video. Looking forward to the upcoming hunting video. Best of luck gentlemen
Costco pants for the win!!

very interesting, especially the clothing options

Very nice honest review! What is the bag liner brand? Thanks
I'm curious about the bag liner as well. I don't know what to get because of all the differences out there.
will we see the whole team together this year on an elk hunt, it's so cool to see you all together even if half the team goes left and the other goes right. it's just fun to see you all together.
Yep!
Are you guys going to do a review on all the different clothing gear you tried? Sitka, kuiu, and such?

That’s what we love to hear!
Any word on when the meat bags will be restocked?? Thanks for all the good info fellas.
I would also add a satellite communication device for safety. At least one in the group for emergencies

I've had good luck with military surplus gortex

There are many many many hunting companies that make merino shirts.. not to mention non-hunting outdoor companies that do.
You can find the the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL 2 on sale every 4-6 weeks for under $300. Versatile tent that doesn’t break the bank
Great call
Do you guys carry a garmin inreach or something along that way for emergencies ?

Don’t forget a hi point 10mm for predator protection 😂. On a budget right?! Should work for at least one shot

$69 for a budget t-shirt? Surely you can do better than that. And black ovis has the ovis ultralight pro game bag elk set for $85.
