Crime Beat: The Tragic Slaying of a Good Samaritan - Rose McGroarty | S4 E6

  • When a dismembered body was found, detectives set out to identify the victim. After intense police work, they set out to find Rose McGroarty’s killer.
She was a wonderful welfare recipient who volunteered to feed the less fortunate. A tip by a building superintendent leads police to her killer.
McGroarty was so loved that a scholarship was set up in her name by local MP Peggy Nash. Rose was fondly remembered by the current executive director of the community centre where she cooked for the homeless.

    Heartbreaking story!
Poor Rose wanted to make a difference in other people lives and this….. took her life.
I am shocked he did such a short time in prison for taking her life.
I’m truly disappointed with the Canadian legal system.
Now this criminal walks the streets freely and experiencing life but Rosey want have that chance because of his poor choices.

The first thing I would have done is gone through every single piece of garbage from that truck. There may be some pieces of paper with names or addresses on it. Presumably they did look through the garbage, but I don't know why they don't mention this. PS. I find it curious that the TORSO was dumped out in the open, but the legs were dumped in a garbage bag. A torso is much more compact.

Great that they solve this case this woman deserves Justice what an a****** all cracked out thank God I never did anything like that when I was addicted to crack I wouldn't blame it on the drugs it's the person and if they are a bad person or not I've known loft to crackheads that haven't done stuff like that. Also even if it was a street person they would still deserve the same amount of Justice he spent a large amount of time saying how oh they just thought she was a street worker or a street person but even if she was she still would deserve the same amount of Justice maybe even more becausel that person would be vulnerable. But yeah well how horrifying would it be to find these body parts around town I'm glad he did confess and he seemed some what remorseful and he'll be doing his time

Has a "psychological profile" ever been actually useful in finding a killer? There's a lot of buzz around these things, but in actual fact, it's almost like a psychic reading: any similarities are found after the fact, with a lot of confirmation bias. Rules such as, residing within a certain radius of the murders, those frequently hold true. Other things are more than likely to be as good as a guess.
I'm a psychiatrist, and there's no major, super- difference between a forensic psychiatrist and a regular one, you'd be surprised. The public needs to understand that such things are good only in movies and TV shows.

May sound weird, but because I watch a LOT of homicide/crime/detective/forensic type shows, I've noticed that MANY crimes take place in the month of November. Being born under the sign of Scorpio, I just think it's kind of eerily ironic, since Scorpio is known to have a deeply dark side. 😒😒 Maybe that Scorpio "moon" influence??? Just an interesting observation I guess.
