    I punched 2 Tease guitars also. They play better than I can and I love looking at them hanging on the wall. Folks spend more for dinner for 2 than these guitars. I like supporting a small business too. Thanks for the interesting video.

      Thanks for the comment, hanging out on the channel, and sharing part of your journey. I dig my Tease guitars as well (if that's not obvious). Great guitars at a great price. Rock on!

    If tease came out with a fully upgraded strat, like they did the tele HD, will not need upgrades. Two point term though, poplar wood body would be a nice upgrade as well. The squire affinity has those specs. Would be great if the body had neck pocket spec for fender necks as well. Anymore left handed models would be great. I got to grab that left handed b stock soon though. Yup, need to get on my long guitar journey as well. Rock on TEd!

      As always, thanks for the comment. All good thoughts. Snag that B stock while you can. Use the code in the description of the video to save $5. Rock on!

    Tease makes really good guitars. I just wish more lefties had found them sooner so there would be a couple lefty models. As a smaller guitar company, they can't sit on inventory so I understand the no new lefty models thing. So, I think I will just be happy with the ST-1 I have. My question for you is this- would you have bought this at tthe regular price of $250? Stainless steel frets tells me yes, but they're biased.

      As always, thanks for hanging out on the channel. Indeed, Tease makes really good guitars. I am clearly a fan. I think the ST-1 is a steal at $144.95 (I got the price wrong like 25 times in the videos) - yep, I messed it all up. Even more so, people could pay $139.99 if they took advantage of the code in the description.
      That said, I believe the guitar is worth much more than the current price. Would I pay $250? I am glad I don't have to know the answer (smile). To get to $250, I would say if it had the Alnico V pickups of the current ST-2, kept the stainless steel frets, had roller string guides, and locking tuners I would certainly think $225-250 (or so) would be reasonable to my thinking.

    Thanks, Ted. Hey- what files did you use to cut the nut, and how do you like them?

    • @TedTalksGuitars
      @TedTalksGuitars  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for hanging out on the channel and for the comment (question). Although I have a few basic nut slot files like the ones you can find just about anywhere, including the @Tease website for $10 and also some sets that came with the "Luthiers repair/maintenance tool kits" (usually cost around $40) that I have (not that I am a luthier by any stretch of the imagination). You can find one of those at Tease as well - and just about anywhere (Amazon, etc.)
      That said, to file down the frets on the ST-1, I used my Music Nomad diamond files because I have them. They were expensive (to me) but I bought them several months ago when I knew I would be setting up a bunch of guitars and was setting up the "shop" (so to speak - its just my study, smile). The ST-1 bone nut didn't need the "big guns" or a great deal of filing, but since I have the files that's what I used. How about you? What files do you prefer?

      @@TedTalksGuitars I have not purchased any, but if I do I'll probably get a decent set. I've watched several videos on how to do it, and don't want to screw it up due to cheaping out on junk files. FWIW, My ST-1 has the same gap on the side of the neck, but no finish cracks. Did yours have the cracks when you got it? They're more than likely just in the finish- if they were in the actual wood, you'd probably know it.

    • @TedTalksGuitars
      @TedTalksGuitars  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@stevenbullock9276 That's cool, I understand completely. There are a bunch of different nut file sets on the market. I would encourage you to search the tubes and hear from others about recommended nut file sets. The main thing is to file lightly and very little at a time, measure, and repeat being careful not to go to deep.
      Yes, the cracks were on the guitar when I received it. However, I did not notice them until I did the under the hood videos. They are difficult to see unless you are looking for them. I do hope as you suggested that they are only in the finish. Rock on!

      Also, could be $140 if folks use the code in the description of the video.
