Great video I think umbrellas are a bit underrated. They can be very powerful light modifiers, especially in a small studio environment. Thanks for such a video Phlo 👍❤
Had to watch it again because why not???? Started two years ago watching all your videos and looking online for other resources and I can say I have come far. More to learn everyday. Thank you once again for making these videos. #GEGU
The Difference is clear chief.......... can u please do me a favor? I'm setting up my studio in my parlor but bro that space is really tight. can u please give like a direct messurement of the distance between ur supject from the background and also from you subject and ur main light and even with the camera for portrait? hope its not too much to ask.
hello brother, me it's Djimmy I live in Congo DRC I have a 5d mark iii camera, a 35mm f / 2.0 lens but I can't get clear photos with my camera, do you have to suggest me ?
Hello Phloshop . Great content you’ve got there. Please what is your go to shop for camera accessories like lens. Hearing storied that some stores sell old accessories as new
Thank you so much for this.. It so simple... I will love if you can show more tutorials on lighting using speedlight... Am so happy with this tutorial.. I have all the materials needed am gonna try it out 🙏🙏🙏
Hi Susanne, Flash does freeze motion and I was even shooting at a slightly faster shutter speed so yes, I’m freezing motion. But the reason it’s in a tripod is just because of the weight I didn’t want to carry. The Atomos and the camera + lens becomes heavy overtime. I hope this answers your question 😊😊 Let me know if there’s anything else. Thank youuu!!
Hello, good afternoon from Mexicali. I have seen your video in detail and there are aspects that catch my attention. The first is that the girl has brown hair, but once the photo is taken the front of her hair blends into the background (something that always gives me a struggle when I work with dark hair and a black background). The other aspect is precisely the background that, although it is not a solid black, becomes practically pure black as it has no light. In this case, wouldn't it have been better to put a mottled background or another color to separate her hair from her background? I suppose adding a light above her head would have helped but I understand that it is a job for two lights, however your tutorial does its job.
Hello Leonardo, thanks a lot for watching and leaving these concerns. I feel there are so many ways to do things in photography. Because it is more subjective than objective there sometimes isn’t a right or wrong way to do things it’s just personal reference. That being said, for the models hair and background it’s not really blending in I’m sure when I lost the final images you’ll see. In this case if I really wanted her hair to standout, I could’ve also turned the rim light towards the background to make it a little brighter over all, or simply add a glow just around where her hair is so it helps make her stand out. Unfortunately that wasn’t the mood I wanted in these images but also I wouldn’t have been wrong for doing that. Also this shoot isn’t limited to just her hair so if I make the hair colour dictate the background Colour choice etc then I really don’t know what I want to capture. If it was a hair campaign then maybe we would relight in ways that flatter the hair first. Don’t let these rules limit you. You can explore anything and anyway you want till you find what works for you! If you have any further questions please let me know
Is it possible to connect flashes from different brand? for example my strobe is the GODOX MS300 and my strobe is the Yongnuo YN-560IV any tips to help a brother out, please
Yes you just need trigger and receivers I would by the godox brand because if you invest in more godox those triggers will fire those and leave the yongnou with the receiver attached.
I have a flash and I am planning of getting an EZ glow soft box to combine and start some studio, and I wanted to find out how that would work out. or If you have done a video on that I will find out and see from your videos.
Hi, i am a beginner , and watching your videos is a breeze and gives me a lot of motivation in upskilling the potential. God Bless.

Are you in Ghana? Or you’re looking to buy online. If it’s online you can shop from BnH
@@Phloshop please I am in Ghana. My problem with buying outside Ghana is the “crazy” import duties you have to pay when your goods arrive.

May I ask why you use a tripod for the camera? When you use flash light isn't motion completely frozen?
