Went to high school with Jalen. He would randomly show up to our track practices and start running 100m sprints with the relay team and keep up with them. Most talented athlete I’ve ever seen.
was he a good dude
@@chefjones4144looked out for my cousin at Georgia when he was in a jam
@@chefjones4144 He stayed out of trouble when we were in high school, but has definitely made some mistakes along the way. Who hasn’t tho? What matters is how we respond and learn from them and he’s in a great environment in Philly. On a positive note, him and his mom always do a back to school event for kids in Apopka. I’m sure you could look it up online. He’s a good guy.
@@chefjones4144yes, my cousin was an athletic trainer at Georgia and said him and keele were the sweetest people
@@chefjones4144 Carter fed with his own scholarship a Dlineman who was a walkon and wasn't allowed to get free meals with Georgia. He's a good dude. But as Jordan Davis said, he's moody. As long as you know when to talk to him and when to leave him alone, he'll be just fine.
Its Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis and Fletcher Cox. Having one star that your o-line needs to alwags double team is one thing, but having 3 of them, talk about having your hands full as an o-line and o-line coach.
Fletcher doesnt need to be doubled anymore. Eagles have like 8 d linemen to worry about.
@@wardy4903Fletch is showing that he still needs to doubled
Them 3 with smith an Reddick and sweat of the edge is my Nascar package I jus switch the de I drop in coverage. It's nasty...plus I move Carter and sweat and Reddick all over the line
@@wardy4903 thats what the comanders thought then he absolutely destroyed their guard and got a sack you better double cox and carter
& Sweat & Reddick on the edges , nowhere to hide , plus Graham and Barnett every once in awhile 😂
I’m so hype to see what him and Jordan Davis do for years to come
have to double jd
Imagine being a Bears fan sitting at pick 9 and we take a late riser tackle in-between Bijan Robinson & Jalen Carter.
well that’s not what happened since they traded the pick😭
It wasn't the Wright pick lol
😂😂😂
Darnell Wright is very good
@@petehaglund8840 Agree. Don't know if he'll ever impact a game like Bijan though.
He prepares and he’s technically sound. He uses his lower body well and his hands are heavy af.
Best player in this yrs draft 🦅🦅🦅🦅
Jalen Carter plays DT like Thor. Like he actually throws Guards and Centers around while being doubled it's absurd.
Never seen a double team struggle like they do versus Carter.😅
I was absolutely gutted when my team passed on him and seeing his dominance makes me feel validated in my frustration. He could have been a massive piece to our defensive rebuild, cmon man!
That’s how I felt when Philly passed on parsons in the draft 🥲
They’re saying Defensive Rookie of the Year? Yo, can we start talking about ALL AROUND Rookie of the Year? I know it’s a stretch but cmon, he’s a BEAST!
Through the first four weeks he was playing less than 50% of our snaps and he had as many pressures as Aaron Donald and through 5-weeks hes played 51% of our snaps because he started game 5
People in the NFL are truly seeing what UGA fans saw with the combo of Davis and Carter on the D-line. It can shut down offenses real quick.
Forget droy if he can keep this up, which obviously isn’t easy, he might be a all pro selection as a rookie
With how successful he is with as little snaps he has comparatively he should.
Droy is a higher honor than all pro.
Good Job Bears for trading down for some scrubs.
Da Bears only got a 2024 4th rd pk for trading down with Philly.
Carter is also on a loaded front, plays a huge part in his pressures.
On plays he doesn’t get doubled, he’s dominating the offensive line
To be fair while you’re correct, he’s the one getting double teamed whenever he’s on the field. I think I saw on Twitter that Micah Parsons is the only player getting doubled more than him and that’s probably because of Micah playing more snaps
@@DarksideJim yes, he’s getting double teamed a lot. He’s very talented.
Slay calls him a baby rhino but that’s BREADMAN 🍞💰
Lions: we'd rather have an RB2 in jamis gibberish
My Eagles, we got them Georgia Philly dawgs hahaha, bowers or Bullard next 🔥👀
And he’s only getting ~50% of the snaps? 😳😳
Sure hope my Lions trading down and not taking Carter doesn't come back to hunt us frfr... Like he becomes the next Donald or some ish 😩
He is on pace to become only the second player in NFL history to win DROY and DPOY as a rookie. The other guy who did had a pretty good career. He goes by LT, maybe you've heard of him?😂😂😂😂
One thing they didnt mention is hes insanely good at reading the offense for a rookie
why does this guy always wearing a tank top?
does his studio not have AC?
pat it’s not the best start for any rookie d line man just the best start for a rookie dt. still very impressive but there have been many better rookie pass rushers at edge.
That’s the whole point. EDGE guys are expected to wrap the corner and get pressure and sacks. Very rare to get this type of production from a DT yet here he is.
He's not even performing better than Kobie Turner right now who is also a rookie DT.
Better then any rookie pass rusher every? Sorry, Aiden Hutchinson is beating him soundly. He should get DPOY. He should have had DROY last year, as his stats were way better then Sauce Gardner.
He's basically the missing piece the Eagles needed last year since they struggled defending the run
Just need our pass D to bounce back and clean up the red zone
And Jordan Davis stepped up too
yeah Davis has been the best DT graded against the run this year I believe @@kakaroto.4-b1l
@@kakaroto.4-b1l Yeah forgot about him
him plus davis wasnt healthy last year
As I was learning football.... now over 15 years ago.... the O line and D line was boring.. cause I didn't understand it and I wanted to see big plays.... but now...the o and d line are really some of my favorite players. Doesn't hurt I'm an Eagles fan 😂 but just the watchinf the grit, trench work, timing, communication, trust, and consistency with the Eagles lines are so fun to watch. The blocking and pulling from the O line to the sacks, tackles and pressures from the D line. Makes me appreciate the game so much more!! 💚🦅
As a 42 year old man. I've never really appreciated the DT position.. omfh nowadays ❤haha
CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW MUCH HE IS HELD ALREADY? And STILL beating double teams😂 watching the tape of him getting held, he’s missing out on 5-6 potential sacks. Imagine if refs did their job and blew the whistle on the linemen
😅 the game would be tew long 😂
meh every top tier pass rusher in the league gets held like crazy, if nfl called out every single holding the games would be too long.
@@ricardorivera7549thas such a bs excuse if it's a flag call the damn glag..this is why I've started losing interest in football..the refs
@@Sky_Blaze not an excuse, just saying everyone has the same argument for their favorite players. everyone always says "X player (his favorite) always gets doubled team, double covered, held, triple blcoked, triple covered" blaah blah blah. i was just sayin every top tier player goes thru this and every fan acts like it only happens to his player
@@Sky_Blazethey call the egregious ones but it’s practically holding every down on offense and defense… refs have to use discretion because the game be 5 hours long no fluidity if calls was made EVERY down
I know this is impossible to fathom, but he's still not fully into his "mans" body. He's just 22, he's going to get stronger.
Sounds scary AF!😱
Jalen Carter has been great but let’s not leave out Jordan Davis who’s always clogging up space and has been a factor also!
They’re loving his technique also though. They have a great rotation of inside linemen tho. Speed inside and out.
It’s that Georgia tandem all over again
This rookie class as a whole has been awesome with Stroud, Carter, Bijan, LaPorta, Branch, Achane, Nakua, Witherspoon, and I know I'm leaving a bunch of guys out from teams I haven't even watched this season.
All we heard was how weak this class was but I think it'll end up being a very very deep class when we look back on it.
Or like Tom Brady said last year there’s just bad football all around the league.
@@carlospacheco9229less physical game turning into the nba
Darnell wright has been great too
christian gonzo may have got DROY if he didnt get hurt, he looked like one of the best cbs in the league through the 1st 4 games , vs ceedee, tyreek, a.j. brown and garrett wilson
nobody said this class was weak the general consensus was it wasn’t very top heavy but was an extremely deep class with talent from rounds 1-7, which is what we’ve been seeing.
A little Reggie mixed with a whole lotta Jerome Brown. This kid is special
He's the best DT in the NFL RIGHT NOW!!
Please
It’s definitely debatable
He might be. Dude is insane
Agreed he is only playing 51% of snaps right now just imagine if he played 70%
better than Aaron Donald?...........
Jalen Carter doesn't play every down, so his numbers reflect limited action
Facts
Carter is scary period. Speed and power and technique.
The fact majority of the NFL teams and Media judged this guy prematurely making him as a criminal and hurt his draft status shows why he plays with focus. Glad us Eagles got him.
We birds should thank the media for that
you got to admit though Philly is the best place to commit crimes
Wasn't the criminal part at all. It was the work ethic that was questionable. Turns out he was willing to put the reps in.
@@EviIM0nk3ynot even close jackass! Anyone who knows the NFL teams knows that’s the Dallas Clownboys!
@@EviIM0nk3ycop city ?
As an eagles fan I had high hopes when we drafted him but then I heard other eagles players rave about him in training camp and thought "okay, they're exaggerating." I'm so glad I was wrong. What makes things even better is that everyone on the eagles is going to get better. I'll be the first to admit that our Defense isn't like a 49ers defense but our D-line is the best in the league and it's not even close.
He's destroying double teams
Jalen Carter has been drawing a majority of the double teams this season and he’s still going off! He landed in the perfect situation with the best mentors he could have imo
Jordan Davis has the highest DT% in the whole league.
That is great but he is still our 4th best DT@@bobby5436
@@bobby5436 understandably so, carter hasn’t been a starter until this past week I’m excited ab both these guys they gonna do big things in the league💪🏾🔥
This is the guy Dallas Fans said "they didn't even want". 😂😂😂😂
That accident dropped his draft stock right into the eagles hand.He was the consensus 1st overall pick before that situation
I’m still confused about the way that story was covered. Was he driving or was he a passenger?
@@milli2385he was racing the other driver who was like 3x over the legal limit and she crashed into a tree or pole.
@@ryanlovern3849 it is strange how they keep bring up the accident as if he was a criminal driving her instead of portraying him as a kid who participated in something really dumb
@@TK-ev if she was racing some random dude and the same outcome happened, the narrative would’ve been “why was she driving nearly 3x over the legal limit?” But since she happened to be racing Jalen, the narrative is “why was he racing her in the middle of the night?” And no disrespect to the two that passed, but whenever I go out drinking with my friends we call an Uber…
Good job bears. You out smarted yourself twice in the same draft
He might finally be our replacement for Jerome Brown that we’ve been searching for
True Brown was a freak and was getting better each season.
Someone who’s probably going under the radar as a DE/Edge rusher is Tuli Tuipolotu for the Chargers. He was a 2nd rd draft pick and has been nothing short of efficient for the Chargers pass rush and run stops. He’ll be the guy once Mack or Bosa moves on.
Yea Vegas recently added him to rookie of year conversation. They know something
Funny enough his brother is carters backup in Philly. Kinda wild
@@nathansmith5215his bro ain’t too bad either
@@liont3250Marlon definitely flashes. Heading into the draft I was hoping the birds had a shot at selecting Tuli since Graham is probably done after this season and they have to get Barnett off the roster.
Carter really is impressive. Really amps things up for the Eagles. They're lucky to have him
Forget DROY, Jalen Carter could win DPOY if he keeps this up.
Before the draft, a couple of my buddies asked me who the Eagles wanted. Without blinking, I said "Carter....but there's no way he'll fall to 10." I couldn't believe he lasted to 9 and Philly got him. And I probably never will.
seahawks fans are still coping about how he wouldve been a bad pick lmao
Know what should frighten Eagles opponents? He has those stats and is barely on the field.
Of course da bears passed on him
Watt said it perfectly. You don't think of the d- tackle position as exciting and must see tv, but Jalen is different. I find myself watching what he does almost every play.
How bad do the Lions regret passing on him, could've had him and still dtafted Gibbs with their 2nd first round pick! He was rated the best player in the draft by many experts for a reason!
This is what happens when people(media) jump to conclusions and others blindly follow, but we will not complain!
Go Birds!!😂😂
Seeing jj talk abt jalen that puts a smile on my face as an eagles fan 😁
I'm soo happy for Davis and Carter! Imagine they become the second coming of Reggie White and Jerome Brown 😮 it's wishful thinking but it's definitely possible ☺️🦅💚🦏
50% of snaps and he was second in pressures amongst DTs and he was PFFs top rated interior lineman in the nfl and the third rated defender in all of the NFL by PFF through four weeks and I'm only guessing it got better because week 5 was his best game
I wanted the Lions to draft him instead of Gibbs who barely plays
Man if we could’ve kept Gardner Johnson defense would’ve been crazy this yr
He fumbled the bag but I wish they could’ve made something work and the Eagles didn’t decide to move on. Hopefully he gets healthy soon
Yeah, well, if we would’ve retained Chauncey Gardner Johnson then that means either Slay or Bradberry would’ve been elsewhere as well. Besides, Johnson is probably gonna miss the rest of the season with a torn pectoral.
Jalen Carter is killing it out there
Why Seahawks, why?! We had him.... An we took whitherspoon.... SMH
The eagles gm would be goated if it wasn’t for the fact that he didn’t draft Jefferson.
What people don't realize is that those were Jeffery Lurie picks. That is why Howie wasn't fired. Think about this...
What team that needs receivers passes on DK METCALF, then proceeds to pass on JUSTIN JEFFERSON to draft JALEN REAGOR, and the GM keeps his job??
Crazy how literally anyone could see this coming.
Baby Rhino!
Nah his name is JALEN DOOMSDAY CARTER
I like that!!😂😂
Carter broke the DT sled in training camp.
He'll be in consideration for DPOY by the end of the year. "Baby Rino" has arrived, I still can't get over the fact that the bears passed on this kid basically twice.
Not only consideration. He's the favourite right now.
I’m kind of mad Seattle passed on him but Witherspoon is so good I can’t complain much.
He doesn't even deserve DROTY let alone DPOY. He might win DROTY off of pure hype but he's not even remotely close to Kobie Turner as a defensive rookie right now.
jalen carter tbagged me in highschool
Sorry, the smear campaign has already failed!!😂😂😂😂
Go Birds!!
I got Jalen Carter as my DROTY and Bijan as the OROTY
Stroud will most likely be OROTY because he's a qb.
Rookie DPOY
Didn't Lawrence Taylor win DPOY as a rookie pass rusher?
Unfortunately for this Eagles fan, you are correct. He won it in 1981, also winning DROY. Hopefully, we'll have the only other rookie to win both at the end of this season. But the media hate for Philadelphia is, in fact, a real thing.
@@DarqEagle56 He doesn't deserve either award.
Shoulda been a 🐻
Definitely shouldve been. Yall wanted a 4th round pick instead tho so THANK YOUUUUUUUU💯‼️
Yeah he’s killing it out there
One of the Eagles defensive linemen nicknamed Jalen Carter 'The Baby Rhino'. Sounds like something Brandon Graham would say but I'm not certain.
Slay gave him that name.
Howie is the best GM in the NFL
As a Hawks fan, I'm happy how Witherspoon has performed so far, but damn, I really wanted them to pick him at 5
Same here. But Philly is honestly the best environment for him. Carter is a beast on the field, and he can be one off the field as well which is why multiple teams passed on him.
@christianhernandez7102 I agree, I just always thought the risk was worth the reward with him. Dude could be the next Aaron Donald.
@@kmartnwwhen it’s all said and done their gonna be asking if Aaron Donald was as good as Jalen Carter!!
Can we put some respect on Witherspoon's name up in Seattle please?
We respect Witherspoon, and Tuli also. We just feels like Jalen has the edge right now, no hate from Eagles fans!
TFW you realize Jalen intentionally put himself in a bad position to drop in the draft and go where he really wanted to be....
Im so mad the lions didn’t take him. Gibbs already hurt 🙄
Carter and Hutchinson!?!?! Would've been nice...and I'm a 🦅 fan
Hmm, Carter & Swift or Gibbs & a 4th rd pk..
Still shocking the Lions didn't draft him, their team and draft would have been STACKED if they got him instead of Gibbs.
Not to take anything away from him dude is special. But next gen stats started being recorded only a few years ago. So it’s not the best start in the history of the nfl. Just the past few years. Impossible to tell past that.
^ If you're stupid.
Good point.
It all comes from Cox you can't double them all 🤣😂🤣🙌🏿🛫🦅🦅🦅🛫
Hes a Florida BEAST!!! Shout out to his high school in Apopka (Orlando).
Best rookie ever huh?? I remember Aldon smith getting 19.5 sacks coming off the bench as a rookie
Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. God bless! Jesus is the way and saves! Psalms 62✝🤍💪
I'm so thankful the Genius Josh McDaniels drafted Tyree Wilson instead of this guy. Whew. We dodge a bullet on this one!
NFL rules committee will probably ban his play. As too successful
Eagles keep geting red flag players while NYG continue to get choir boys.
Would’ve been nice if Carter was available 2 seasons ago in the draft, could’ve had him last year along side with Hargrave, Cox, BG and Davis.
Seems like Seattle didn't go wrong whether it was Witherspoon or Carter. Carter probably the most impressive rookie but already injured for one game (although so was Witherspoon). Witherspoon PFFs 3rd best corner in the league.
Idk about you guys, but the most fun part about football is watching a smothering Defense. Ive grown up a Michigan/Detroit fan. Michigan has pretty much always had a Defense, this year especially they are a fun ass unit to watch. Detroits been Detroit for 50+ year. 2023 is an exception though, we look like a fuckin team this year huh boys? Its fun as hell to watch Hutchinson on the D-Line just dominate.
When TJ Watt, Zach Martin Jason kelce etc. are all calling you special… theres reason to believe he may truly be special
Whenever this dude brings up Carter he always has to mention the predraft stuff lmao so predictable
What is Hurts isn't the best Jalen on the team 😳
I'm okay with that!!😂😂😂
Him n Davis will be a fun duo for a while. Bee bop n rocksteady
I love the fact that we can throw interceptions, and win the game regardless. Our D is that fuckin good
Jalen Carter just donated 5k to a pop Warner school from a shooting of two teenagers at school, sounds like a good dude to me
How did the bears or lions not draft this kid 🤦🏾♂️
Right!! Lions literally drafted a stud rb that they barely use
The lions could've been that guy away from having the best shot outside of San Francisco
@@eckroadbloodline7583 Eagles have the best shot aside from San Fran
Bears drafted a very good offensive tackle, so what are you talking about?
Eagles playing against scrubs and rebuilding teams lol lets see how well they play in the upcoming month where they play actual contenders
I still think seahawks should've taken him but glad that witherspoon has stepped up. Hopefully he's as good against the better teams and not just the daniel jones team
I dont think ive seen a defensive player pop off the screen like that. You dont have to know anything aboit the game you just watch and realize that guys a problem and hes a rookie. Part of it is the oline gives him so much respect hes hard to miss
I haven’t heard his name all year just about. I thought he got hurt or something
I cant believe the Bears passed on this guy. I was so pissed.
They call him a “baby rhino” which I think is even better
