I get so confused by people sometimes. That post sounded like someone who wanted to save this creature. But at the same time instead of saying, I’ll have to give it to someone else or even leave it outside of a rescue, they go straight to “I’ll have to release it outdoors.” They’ve already stated they thought the guinea pig got attacked outside and then say they’re going to do the exact same thing. It comes off as very ingenuine and manipulative and I just don’t understand people.
Yeah I agree, too. It was a mixed message. Even keeping them safe somewhere too small for afew days would help this little one, but to say you would just dump them outdoors if no one comes is horrible. This piggy wouldn't survive much longer at all, it's a death sentence. Very manipulative, and many people can be. People do many things for the right reason, this is not one of them. Hope this squeakheart survives ❤.
To be clear this message was actually sent to a dedicated Guinea Pig Rescue and I picked him up on their behalf. I think it is even worse when you threaten a rescue group that puts their hearts on the line every day and have to deal with threats like this on a regular basis
Seems more like a case of someone who impulsively bought a piggy didn’t do any research on how to care for the animal and then when the animal is on deaths door decided to get rid of the animal. The story of being attacked is just a cover up for their neglect. The threat of tossing him outside just says everything.
❤️❤️❤️ watching and subscribing is enough, donating is just icing on the cake. But it does empower me too spend more time volunteering fostering and rescuing
No expert, but I dont think the bath got him cold, but just he used up the last of his energy reserves in the struggling. I'm so glad he's perking up. Watching him 'self serve' really made me smile. What a little boss pig! I love when B.B. 'Supbirbvising' too.
After all that struggle during bath time, he must have used every bit of energy. It is possible that the bath made him too cold, but it's great to see he's in recovery! Poor little love is super thin, and I really hope that this doesn't have many long term affects. Thankyou, for being literally the best you can be. We know that he is in the best and kindest of hands ❤. We love you and this little one, too.
Two of mine were that skinny when I got them. I could feel their back bones and every rib. At first the didn't eat much. I've had them around 4 months and they are fat and happy now!
We took one in dirty , and so skinny and we fought for him he ate hay veggies pellets but in the end he all of a sudden passed. We only had Teddy for 4 mos. Apparently he was bought and the teenage daughter just cared more about other things. Starved and left to rot the mom reached out to a friend of mine and we took him. I have had my piggies make it to 7 years old and least was 6 years. I have 2 piggies now,1 we bought ,and 1 we saved with a rabbit we rescued and 2 rescue doggies. If I had room and owned my place I'd have more dogs, more piggies, and rescue many for good homes.

That was so scary there for a minute. I realize that was a lot longer for you than what you showed us, and I’m so sorry your heart went through that. 😢
Scotty, thank you so much for sharing this experience with us. You have taught everyone watching, to feed first, bathe later. I would've done exactly what you did, clean him up first, but it was obviously just exhausting for him. Thank you again for being an angel. ❤ He should be named miracle. ❤
Sometimes when people go through survival situations, their body uses a lot of energy to keep the brain at max alert, and then once they realize they are safe they will immediately collapse. Maybe he had that moment once you started blow drying him (warm air is very soothing too). He did put a lot of energy into struggling during that bath as well, poor thing must've been so exhausted but wouldn't show it. He needed all of that rest and nutrition so badly, but being so skinny it just takes so much longer to get it all back.
Sorry Scotty, I have to send you my hospital bill, because you just melted my heart! ❤ Thank you so much for saving this cute little guy, I'm "afraid" we're in for a serious case of foster fail, no way that you let him go, he's already so attached to you and vice versa, but that's more than OK 😉
His stomach will have shrunk a bit, but he's got a great appetite and he's a little fighter. The starvation was probably making him wobbly. I think everyone seeing this video has well and truly fallen for this little charmer. He's your piggy for life now 😂😂👍🐹 I'm so happy to see him on the mend.

Thank you so so so much for saving this sweet boy. I know all of them can’t be saved, but knowing there’s genuinely so many kind hearted people like you out there warms my heart. I can’t donate this week but I will definitely try to. No life form deserves to just be tossed out like trash just because they’re unwell. I hope he heals wonderfully
Such a sweet little boy! Hopefully he is just so tired out from everything he has been through. Giving him the bath will make him feel so much better. He looks like a little Skipper to me. Scotty you are such a caring person Thank You for helping him!
My thoughts are with the guinea pig. I hope he pulls through and starts feeling better soon seems like a really sweet boy. Great job taking care of him.❤❤

Yes but ironically the fact that they said he was attacked and also the threat of letting him go outside was what motivated me to pick him up. The family had no idea he was starving and near death

My heart hurts just thinking of what this precious boy had to go through before you rescued him. His demeanor from the beginning of this video until the finish was so drastically different. His eyes look so much better. They aren't so sunken in and his sweet face looks so much happier. Bless you so much, Scott. Without your intervention, there's almost no doubt that he would have passed away. Was there any indication that he was attacked by an animal? It just seems like he was slowly being starved.
I wish I was close enough to adopt this handsome man myself. Hes in great hands Im so glad that you take the time and gas money and effort to go save these piggies. Theres no way he would have lasted another week of being fed just lettuce. I hope he enjoys the rest of his pampered piggie life and that he finds a forever home where he can have a friend too ~~

Oh my goodness, I have seen a lot of rescue videos, but this one just really got me, I've never seen a guinea pig so hungry, crying my eyes out! 🥴🥲 And I am sooooooo glad that he is with you and safe.💙💙 I just can't even comprehend someone just leaving a helpless animal outside, people can take them anywhere to a public place to get some HELP, but people shouldn't just leave them alone, someone will help them somewhere. Thank God the original owners left him with a neighbor and then she got help. I think when he kind of went downhill is that he had hardly any strength left, and the bath might have used whatever energy and strength he had left. We've all had times where we've had to do something unexpectedly and didn't have enough time to eat first and then you know how you get that nauseous feeling when you overdo it and you really need food, I think that's where he was at. I know how scary that is and I'm sorry that that happened, it is just shocking, but he's definitely getting stronger and he's going to be fine! I would have done the same thing, give him a bath because he was wet and uncomfortable and it totally made sense, but I we definitely learned from these things. You did so well with him and got him right back on track you were an absolutely wonderful person and thousands of people are going to watch this video and bring joy to their hearts (like every video you do 🙂)! 💙💙 I know that you're looking for a name and you don't really want other people's Piggies names, but he looks and acts so much like my Gingles, both such nice sweet boys. Gingles was born a month before Christmas and I wanted to incorporate jingle bells with my name- so I thought it would be a unique name. So I think that would be a really cute name for him. Or Bumper Beary, Gingle Beary? Anyways, he is really a special little guy and I know that you do have a large piggie family, but I can tell that he already really loves you and feels comfortable with you and hope that you could keep him. After all he's been through, he has a good outlook on life and it would be wonderful for him to spend it with you..... Hint hint. But I know that you would find a good home for him but he really is bonding with you already. I guess I'm feeling a little selfish, but would love to see him live with your other babies. Thank you for for saving his life 💙😍💙😍
Just happened upon (and now subscribed) to your channel. Thank you for saving this little guy! I have 2 Guinea pigs and a house bunny. This too has happened to one of my piggers. She got so stressed out, and even in her healthy state, laid into the bottom of the sink, in her warm bath, stressed and I thought she had died :( She was fine a few hours later and was running around chasing her baby piggy. You did exactly as you should've, kept him warm and quiet and gave him warm food to boost his stamina. Resilient, but gentle, sweet critters they are. Bless you for being a "keeper of the critters" and giving this little guy another chance at life.
Thank you, Debra! Welcome to our community ❤️ please visit my website for even more resources, worldwide rescue and vet list and recommendations from the Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue. www.ScottysAnimals.com
Oh my💔 This was a shocker! The bath situation i've experienced myself, was scary. Now i wait a couple of days before bath coz i cant forget that in a hurry. Decompress & food is the priority. Thank goodness he survived ❤❤
It's what I would normally do but he seemed so strong and he smelled so incredibly bad. Not just smelly but fungus and mildew. But I shared that so we will all think twice next time
Poor baby! This is heartbreaking. Do you think he was just really dehydrated or electrolyte deficient? I had that happen to me--I had to be wheeled into the ER and was able to walk out on my own after a liter of Lactated Ringers and a potassium supplement (thankfully, I worked in the lab at the hospital so I was one floor above the ER.) Thanks for rescuing him, Scotty! I'm so glad he is doing better💜
I was hanging on to every moment! Such a sweet heart; a fighter! He is so adorable and you were amazing Scotty! You brought him back! I was calling him sweet pea at first. Then when i looked at him i thought Truffle because he came from the wild, was a rare find, clinging to life. Then I thought a fighter who was beating all odds, so the name Rocky came to mind. He is just precious❤ Thank you for what you do!
OMG......Scotty. 😢 I am beyond upset! SIGH! I cannot stand people that are so cruel. But having said that, I do thank them for putting him on the doorstep and the one person for rescuing him. ❤ And of course Scotty, thank YOU! 😢
Yes I had mixed emotions because the family meant well, and yet at the same time threatened the rescue with an ultimatum, and they saved his life for sure, and yet somehow we're unable to find proper information about guinea pig care. Even the simplest information about feeding hay. I am also to blame for not having my information easier to find. I'm going to have to figure out ways to make it more accessible

I know that you're looking for a name and you don't really want other people's Piggies names, but he looks and acts so much like my Gingles, both such nice sweet boys.
Thank you for for saving his life 💙😍💙😍
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Gina
He's sooooo sweeeeet 😊😊😊
He was starving with bad digestion, not sure if he was completely dehydrated because he was only eating lettuce for 2 weeks
Thank you Scott for saving this little guy. Your attached. Welcome to Scotty's herd little one. ❤❤❤
Ugh
Great job Scotty! This little Dude is lucky to be in your hands. Keep us posted on how he is doing... 😇
Thank the person who rescued him and thank u for making him stronger yr the best
"And this is how you become attached " ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely ❤😊😊😊
Oh Scotty, please please keep us informed! Right now we have a hurricane on our doorstep! I am now in LOVE with two rescues! Bunson and this one!
@@maryamullins4332Isn't there a third? Checkers?
@@AlysonMcNulty Not that I know of. This was just a single rescue.
@@AlysonMcNulty I am so blasted in love with Bunson. He is with Annie right now. And now I am also in LOVE with this new one. Alyson, it just absolutely stabs me in the heart when there are rescues like this one and Bunson's rescue.
Poor guy. So glad he's safe with you now!
What a brave and trusting guy. I see a foster failure in your future. I can only imagine the scare!
How cute! even with being too skinny. You are at high risk of another foster fail, Scotty.
My brain said Joshua, like Joshua Tree. A more unique name could be Bramble. Tough, hearty and difficult to get rid of! 😘
I just watched this again. Oh my, he's so adorable, whar character and determination. Thank God he's with you now. I'm so sorry I clicked the wrong thumb on this or the previous film, I didn't have my glasses on 🙈 Thank you so much for saving him and caring so much. I will check out your patreon!
Oh, it broke my heart in two to see how skinny the poor baby is. Why are peoplw so uncaring? God bless you for caring.
Thank you for helping this young boy.😊 He is really cute and doing better now. I 💗 guinea pigs.
Thank you Scotty for all you do!
My word! Thank you so much Margaret ❤️❤️❤️

So happy you were successful. He’s beautiful.
He's a fighter. So cute. I pray he'll be able to recover and be a welcome member of the herd.
Poor thing, so skinny, thanks for helping him
I'm doing my best, Helen. Thank you for your support
What cutie. He is so strong. He probably will recover. The name fitzy came to mind.
