I think a great concept would be a Mario Party Maker. Hear me out, with Pro rules introduced in Jamboree players were given more options different from normal rules. Why don't we expand this allowing players to build their own boards by customizing space layout, minigame payout, star pricing, Bowser events, etc. Just give us old minigames like Superstars. Then you could share your boards online. The only downside to this is the stage assets would be pretty boring think Mario Party 4's boards or Mario Party 10's amibo boards. But I don't think thats not that bad of a trade offer. I think the potential is definitely there.
For the pokemaker there could be a story mode where you catch all the pokemon but the maker part would be people can make custom trainers for u to battle
With SMM3 I think a sub grid system would be cool. Just divide each grid square into 4. Maybe add a toggle for turning on the sub grid. A block would remain the same size, but it could be placed offset by a half block.
Honestly I am surprised you didn't mention a Donkey Kong vs the Minis maker. They had this in March of the Minis 2 on the DS, it was such a blast to troll my brother/get trolled by my brother with our own levels, but that mode was always very limited (there was this 100-point system if I recall and placing one mini Mario already cost like 6 points). If they make that a proper game with higher limits and of course a full online functionality, that game could be really good and also not too difficult for both Nintendo to make, as for level designers. Only downside is that there are not that many fans of the Mario vs DK puzzle series.
What would be really cool in a new Mario Maker is to have more playable characters with their unique abilities and then make levels that can be played with these characters (if course, the level has to be tested with all characters set as available for that level to verify it). I finally want Yoshi playable! It wouldn't hurt if it also gets a 16-bit version of the SMB3 style. Outside of Mario, I would LOVE to see a successor to Game Builder Garage. This is a literal game maker for the Switch. However, it has some restrictions, mostly to make it more user-friendly and hey, limitation leads to more creativity. But it barely has any assets (for example you have to make textures yourself, etc.), has no Mii support and is also kinda clunky to use here and there. A successor, which is more powerful and has much more assets (textures like grass, sand, bricks, etc., models like trees, rocks and so on to help get you started), Mii support for actual custom character support and more would be a dream come true. Also a actual 3D preview of what you're creating and new Nodons and so on, as well as a dedicated 2D mode. Sure, it may be a bit complicated to use but would have so much potential.
All we really need for Mario Maker 3 is Mario Wonder as a style along with the badges. There is so much cool stuff to do around the badge movesets. Especially if they incorporated those badges into all styles.
Kirby or Mario Maker game where it’s actually involved in the story and essentially you make your own story with a set number of levels and worlds is my dream. Basically make your own games, not load up levels you made you design the world hub and everything, boss battles! And you load up other peoples games, basically unlimited Mario games with unique stories
Super Mario Maker 3D should absolutely be the next installment, will it be? Probably not. I disagree that 3D Maker would be too complicated. If kids can handle Minecraft there’s no reason to think they couldn’t handle 3D Maker. They don’t have to over complicate it, Mario 64 maker proved that. You would have to have some limits, like area size & maybe stuff closer to a Mario 3D world type thing. Obviously you’re not gonna make full on Odyssey worlds. But a Mario maker 3 without some major innovation would be so lame. Yes it would be a bit more difficult than a regular 2D maker, but not that much more. We don’t need to spoon feed everyone baby handles every single game. It’s okay if some of them are a bit more fun. 3D maker could still include a 2D maker mode as well. As far as Mario Kart maker, I don’t think that would be its own game, but absolutely work as a new side mode on the next Mario kart game. Mario kart 8 pretty much pushed the limit with tons of new courses, there’s not a lot they could do besides just keep adding characters and tracks. Yes these concepts are more time consuming but we should expect more from Nintendo at this point. We need stop making excuses & should encourage them to go bigger and wilder. If Switch 2 is supposedly ps4/Xbox one level in terms of capabilities- those could handle a massive open world game like Red dead 2. Mario 3d maker, Mario kart maker side mode, etc- none of those would take even half the install size of red dead 2. Yes Nintendo has done insanely well with being the budget/family option. They can still be that & push for higher sometimes.
I think a good gimmick for Mario Maker 3 would be the hability to change the theme (smb, smb3, world, new, etc) during the playthrough of the level And adding themes as Galaxy, Oddesey and Wonder. And I doubt Nintendo would do it, but a 3D maker, even if is very limited just enough to do 3DWorld-like levels, would be mad awesome
DKC Maker would be very epic (and would give DK fans some actual content after a decade) Edit: Just watched the whole video and found that you did bring this up, and while Returns and Tropical Freeze make the grid format of Mario Maker hard to replicate, those games could be simplified for a DKC Maker, like how 3D World was simplified. My idea for game styles is this: -SNES (bundles DKC 1-3) -DK64 (but in a 2D variation like MM2 3D World) -Wii/U (bundles content from Returns and Tropical Freeze) Since each Kong does something different in these games it's better to have colour variants for multiplayer instead of different characters as shown in Mario Maker 2.

The ability to turn a Bowser into a "fake Bowser" from the first Super Mario Bros. that's revealed to be an enemy of your choice if you defeat that Bowser with fireballs. Fire Bros. in the standard Game Styles as well as the 3D World Game Style.
A lot of mario maker levels are designed around power ups, and with how many moves some of kirby's have copy abilities, the possibilities are almost endless. Imagine a level about melting ice but you use copy abilities like hammer, circus or other abilities that have fire moves.
I think they should make a Super Mario Wonder Maker. Now, the reason to make a whole Mario Maker off of this one game is because Wonder has way too many features to be in the next Mario Maker as well as the 5 other game styles.
Despite what Nintendo commented in the past, i think a Zelda maker could be a very strong possibility and nintendo HAS played with this ideia. Heck Zelda eccoes of wisdom started its development HAS a Zelda maker, though it was changed into its own title sometime during development. Its possible that the devs that worked on Awakening remake and Ecoes of Whisdom could make a Maker game for the Switch 2.
I have a couple thoughts here. Not likely ones, but thoughts. In a Mario Wonder style, there could be a wonder flower that would turn the game into procedural AI generation, like the Miencraft AI thing. Probably would be terrible and everyone would have a blast. For a 3D mario maker, if it functioned like the recent game Tiny Glade, I think it would be perfectly accessible for everyone. I highly recommend checking it out.
There’s an issue with people thinking that we’re always getting a new console and a new game in every series. “A new Mario maker for every console here on out”. The future of Nintendo and gaming in general is unclear. Console may eventually be a thing of the past. “Generations” may not a thing in the next 10-20 years. As hard as it is to believe, Nintendo won’t last forever. At least, it won’t be what it is today forever. The gaming landscape has already changed a lot and it’s continuing to do so rapidly. For better or worse. Smash has reached its pinnacle for example. People keep talking about “the next smash” but it’s unlikely we’ll ever get one. If we do, it could easily damage the franchise because there’s no way it’s going to have the same amount of content and it’s going to upset a ton of people. With Mario Maker, there’s definitely room to grow still, but Ninty is never doing a 3D maker. It’s going to be Wonder if anything. If they did any crossovers they very likely wouldn’t flesh it out. Rather using it as its own style instead within Mario Maker. Just my opinions here.
One option you didn't consider that would be the actual lamest is Mario Maker 2 Delux. Id expect a bare bones 3D mode in the next game to test the waters for a dedicated 3D Maker 2D top down Mario & Luigi Maker same mechanisms as a Zelda Maker Pokemon could work as a small section of a larger Nintendo Maker game Mario Party Maker

I alway found this arguments against a 3D mario maker weird. For me if a new maker game is made the most likely to happen is a mario maker 3d. Mario maker 2 didn't peform as well as mario maker and i think a new 2d mario maker will never perform as well as the first since it will pretty much the same thing as the previous one, i think Nintendo is more likely to try something new and exsiting like what were mario maker at it's release.
