We can think of about 600 reasons why this much-applauded multi-tool belongs on your belt. But don't worry, we'll just stick to the most important ones here. Like profound versatility, for example. And failsafe performance. And a level of rock-solid design and construction that pleases the eye and satisfies the soul.
20 years ago, my soon-to-be stepson gave me a Gerber multi-tool. It has been on my belt ever since. I wore out one sheath, but found another at a yard sale. The tool came with a half-serrated blade, a style I despise. I found another Gerber tool (yard sales are great) missing a couple of parts, but it had full smooth and serrated blades. I swapped out my blade and a duplicate screwdriver for these. I've also made frequent use of the Fiskars scissor, trimming a ragged fingernail or cutting a stray thread on clothing.
I still have mine from early 90's before it was designated 600. Lot's of gear heads misunderstand the sliding pliers... they jiggle them before using and proclaim they are loose. Not so... tight as a drum once you grip something. This is how they are designed. Love the MP!
Hey Gerber, I'm Evan. I love your tools your the only brand I trust. I love your simple durable smart designs made to get the job done. I suggest that you creat a non serrated folding knife that's easy to use and can handle a lot of ruff work. I know I would buy that. You never fail me gerber.

Don't let anyone fool you. We don't get great stuff in the military. This is the cheapest thing that'll work and that's why we have it. I own a Leatherman for myself lol.

I like that you can flick it open
I’ve had mine since 2018. It fell into the belly of my stryker and was still alive and well nearly a year later when I had to pull the engine out. Seized up on me a lil while later but with some clp and working it in it was all gravy. Love that little fucker. Carry it to this day after my leatherman started wearing down.
I love had a couple for a long time. I just ordered the old RFI issue ACU sheath that they used to come in. Remember those? Throwback time lmao
I’ve had one since I was a teen, I do have a leatherman sidekick too, both are equally good, but the mp600 I have is like a dessert tan and black, it’s a slick lookin tool,
I have the stainless 600 I use it every day! Its great! My wife has the 400 compact sport. Gerber makes the best multi-tool period.

While the description says "tool only" it does come with one each of a bi-metal th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0vyBwjtx9GGOuiqUVT2sRoYqmDoNT_RI and HCS blade plus an adaptor plate for non-DeWalt blades. Wish I had known that before I bought the blade kit, but oh well. Since I already have a DeWalt drill, charger and batteries there was no need to buy more of those so this was a great deal.There is one other consideration. DeWalt does't sell the depth guide separately so you need to buy the three parts which make it up -- the N275350 block assy, the N275341 metal rod and the N278801 knob. Amazon does sell all three.

Great Tool...I bought my MP600 for about 25 Years in Germany, 3 Years later break the small flat screwdriver. Today i call the support from Fiskas, they told me that they can't help me and when i write a email to your Company you will send it to Fiskas and i am at the beginning. Perhaps you can help me to get these little part to replace it on my MP600. sorry for my bad english.
This is the best tool I've ever used. It's still in perfect condition, even being used for various rigorous activities. Highly recommended ❤❤...
I've had two leather bands and a couple other cheaper multi-tools and I've got to say I've got to say I've got the same Gerber mp600 I bought a second hand the sheath look kind of rough, but the tool was a fine shape the guy I bought it from said hey guy by guy in the military a pack of cigarettes for it, I bought it for $15 I've had it for about 5 years might be a little bit longer I prefer it over the others by far
Some items that are in the military product line can be used by every day people without consequence I don't know why they only list certain products within the military line for example the ding dong. I'm a civilian and I could use that going camping as well as around the house for large products.
you can use the work pro box cutter for a nice belt clip
the tungsten carbide cutter on this plier are sucks, my carbide cutter break's for no reason and replacement part are crazy expensive.

Why won’t Gerber add a t-shank adapter or take inspiration from leatherman’s flat bits? It looks like a great multi-tool but how can I choose this over a Surge?

There's always the MP600 Bladeless which has needlenose pliers, wire cutters, crimper, coarse and fine file, 3 flat head screw drivers, bottle opener, scissors, can opener, Philips driver and remgrit gj-4 saw blade (universal jigsaw blade holder). use any multi tool enough you can open it one handed. My leatherman signal works like a butterfly knife.

Buying those Amazon counterfeit tools eh? MP 600 is made in America, many of their other multitools and knives are made in China, but the MP 600 is made in America.
What you refer to as "flat head" screwdriver blades are actually "slotted head" drivers. You are confusing the type of "drive" (slotted, Phillips, Torx, etc.) with the screw head "profile" (flat head, round head, pan head, etc.)

Yea the wharncliffe styling is a bit off as a standard mt blade but it seems to get the job done most of the time....personally kinda sick of the standard drop point anyway
