I sure love me some Superhero video games. Like, we keep going back to them on this channel, y'all seem to dig watching it and my descent into westaboo continues. What are some good or Forgotten Super Hero games you played? Or the first?
Also, if you have any comic book recommendations, I AM ALWAYS LOOKING FOR ME. Huge X-Men guy, wanting to get more into DC too. Lemme know you beautiful goobers.

Jed McKay has been killing it on Moon Knight the past few years, I'd highly recommend that run.
Ryan North's Fantastic Four has been out for a little over half a year now (so probably a trade out or about to come out soon?) and you can tell he just gets the characters; really great writing there.
Anything Al Ewing touches is gold but his recent Ant-Man and Wasp minis were both really fun and great looks at the history of both characters.
Keep making great videos, I love your work! 💯

The gameplay itself was pretty janky and probably could’ve used another QA test or two, but it captured the spirit and charm of the Deadpool comics perfectly. And it’s a large shame you can’t play it nowadays without hunting down a physical copy due to being delisted.

Deadpool is still one of my all time favorite licensed games, up there with Batman Arkham series and Spider-Man. I think the combat system was really fun because of how much variation you had with all the different melee weapons, guns, and sub weapons like bear trap and the writing was fun to me bc I will always be a teenager at heart

feels really weird to say "Nolan North matched Ryan Reynolds" when Nolan really set the bar for Deadpool in MVC3. so i was super glad he reprised that role for the Deadpool game. if anything i think Ryan just really nailed his own take of the character.
as you said, Nolan goes hog wild with the role and its fucking great. Ryan is reeled back a lot more, but its still Deadpool.
also that game could only be batshit insane. aside form it getting rather difficult near the end, it was just about everything
i was expecting from a modern Deadpool game after what i had learned about the current era of the character at that time.
its not the best game, but its pretty fun and very entertaining and VERY Deadpool.

Galactic Storm is just pre-rendered, but they left in way too many highlights/reflections. So it looks weird and blown out, and not in accordance with lighting intensity. The better pre-rendered stuff keeps highlight intensity lower so the white balance or whatever else looks right or even has dark graphics/environments - DKC, RE, Viewpoint, or even MK etc with digitized, rendered photographs and paintings and stuff. Thats my understanding at least, a 3D artist could give a better breakdown im sure.

The "evil" versions would be their doppelgangers from Infinity War (the comic book event that was a follow up to Infinity Gauntlet, not the movie that is based on the latter). Galactic Storm uses prerendered graphics ala Donkey Kong Country (i.e., 3D models converted into sprites). I remember not having many licensed games growing up. I had a Harry Potter game for gba but when I was like 13 I found out about Spider-Man shattered dimensions a year or so after release. I did everything to find that game and eventually my dad went to an eb games and asked the guy for it and I remember him calling me for the name of the game. I was so hyped waiting for him to come home to play that gem.

That game shut down like a week after I reached max level, made me so sad. You could actually hook up a controller on console and play it 2 player Ultimate Alliance style. I’d always be Spider-man and my brother would be Deadpool. Definitely a shame we lost this game.

As a kid, I had the Deadpool game on PS3 and it was a great experience. I understand that it may not have had a great reception and I'll bow to my peers on that one but as a kid, I really didn't have a lot of understanding on how people saw the game so I went in just loving what I loved. Is it cringe? Yes. Is Deadpool cringe as a concept? Also yes. So the weird aspects i could clearly just look to the comics I had at the time and draw a lot of comparisons. So overall a fun time!

I feel compelled to tell you: the Deadpool you see in the game is mostly inspired by Danial Ways version. Joe Kelly (writer of his first ongoin) while far from perfect paints a pretty tragic character. The movies are a little more J.K then D.Way.

I once got to attend a presentation about game devcelopment co-hosted by one of the Deadpool project leads after he had left High Moon.
He said that they basically had a "throw shit at the wall and see what sticks" approach to making that game, and that the only thing that ended up getting cut was a segment where Deadpool fights a T-rex.
He also said that Deadpool was a game that came out too early, because while he had that meme appeal and was popular in the comics, he was still pretty niche outside of that small demographic, and since the Deadpool movie was still a few years off, there was no way to appeal to the normie crowd who's only exposure to the character was X-Men Origins Wolverine.

It's technically canon that all of these games are official marvel universes. The fun part is imagining how they connect. Do all hulk games share a continuity? Are all the LJN games in the same universe? Are ports to other systems their own universes?

Fun Fact: Punisher was ment to have a sequel, called Punisher 2 : Sandbox Punishment.
Volition talked about it on a stream, showing a pitch trailer. They had plans for it to run in Saints Row's engine and have a open world Hells Kitchen, and possibly have Daredevil make a cameo.
Sadly, it never got greenlit but lots of it's gameplay ideas and some planned missions made it into Saints Row.

The first console I ever owned was the original PlayStation so if I remember correctly, my first Marvel game was Spider-Man. You all know which one. That game is a true classic and is the reason I still remember the original Spider-Man theme song the whole way through.
I even remember replaying it the most when wearing the Scarlett Spider suit, but I don't remember why I used it so often. Still all in all, that game is one of my favorite games on the PlayStation as well as one of my favorite games ever.
