    Yeah if gausman has his command on that low fastball u know it’s gonna be a long night for the opposing offense… such a pleasure to watch it ever since he signed with us

    There was an article a couple of years ago, saying how the Giant's pitching coach wanted Gausman to throw more splitters, and less of the other mediocre pitches. That's when his career really turned while in SF. So disappointed at the cheap Giants front office for not willing to pay him what he earned and deserved. Still remember him pinch hitting FTW!

    Thanks for spotlighting Gausman. I adopted the Jays this year as a second squad to follow after the Giants all because of Gausman. Wish he was still in San Francisco. The guy is a boss.

    If our analysis of pitch value could take sequencing and the batter’s mindset into account there is no question Gaus’ splitter would be the most valuable pitch in baseball. Every single strike he gets is either a splitter or a result of respect for the splitter. The man is tied for the most Ks in the MLB based on one pitch.
    I know I’m biased, I’m a jays fan and Gaus is my favourite player, but damn is he not fun to watch. Last night was my first time seeing him live and I couldn’t have dreamed of a better game.

      Thank god for the jays since they just sent down manoah and berrios has continued to blow chunks. They might be this year’s version of the Phillies last year, super boom or bust in the playoffs.

      @Jaxon Zanolli I want you to actually watch him pitch and know what you're looking at. Throwing a fastball with that kind of movement is extremely valuable. You'd know that if you ever gripped a ball before

    Gausmans splitter really acts as a changeup since he has 5 fingers on it. It really presents itself as a fastball then dives away with very nice depth and horizontal movement. Looks like a strike middle middle then teleports

    The Phillies would really like to have Eflin and Gibson now.
    I’m old enough to remember when there were maybe two or three guys in each league with the stuff dozens of guys have now. Pitching, hitting, infield defense, catcher throwing, pitchers’ pickoff ability-all much improved in the last few decades. OF defense might be worse though.

    Any idea why Gausman is having such an unbelievable renaissance this late in his career? I mean the last 3-4 years are almost night and day different when compared to his previous 9 years in the show. I followed him in college, and even then he didn't dominate the way he has been of late.

    Splitter is always a great pitch. Every time you see one in the MLB it’s a very good pitch. I always wonder why more pitchers don’t throw it. Maybe it’s just really hard to master.

    • @Tagiau
      @Tagiau ปีที่แล้ว

      Because in the MLB it was thought that the split killed elbows. Because everyone that threw one was getting tjs. We now know that was completely wrong, so we're seeing it more. And finally, because it is the best pitch in baseball.

    • @Frederick0220
      @Frederick0220 ปีที่แล้ว
