Thanks for the speed test. It comes as no surprise that it doesn't even get close to what they claim. I just received the Typhon, my first Arrma RC and so far it's been great, which is completely opposite to my ZD Racing experience. So it's Arrma over ZD every time for me.
I know this is from last year but after watching it I have bought one of these trucks just waiting for it to get delivered cant wait to take it out 😁😁😁

Aww that babies growing on up. She’s precious guys haha makes me want another one. My baby girl is almost 8 and I’m telling ya that feeling nate that grows more and more everyday. My Emma is almost 8 and I fall more in love with her everyday it seems. From the first smile to crawl walking then talking and reading. A little girl is really something. Don’t get me wrong my son was the cutest thing I’d ever seen back when he was a baby too but it just really is something a little special bout daddy’s little girl. Thanks for all the wholesome videos you guys post. I just got a Losi Tenacity-T and it’ll do 53 mph but now I’m hooked on ground vehicles

The first couple months have been rough, honestly, but now she is getting her own personality a little bit and you're right it has just been really amazing so far. The ZD racing group on Facebook found out that these new "V3" 1/8 variants (9203, 9116, 9020) are very much like the OFNA/HOBAO "Hyper 7" vehicles. The Hyper 7 was nitro but they have a brushless conversion kit, and it appears the Hyper SSe Looks very similar in pics.They people with the 9116 Monster Truck are replacing the hubs/steering cups with OFNA parts. Other parts may be options for replacement/upgrade since ZD doesn't have many parts available for these yet.

My maverick strata short course truck does wheelies on 3 or 4s lipos but mine is a 1/10 scale with a hobbywing max10 sct combo setup in it it’s stupidly fast every time I take it out I break it lol Love your videos keep them coming 👌👍
I like the look of this truck, and I think there is value there for what you get. I agree, I would rather see a lower speed on the box and have the truck meet or exceed it, rather than a higher speed that it can't. Unless they clearly state they did it with better batteries. However, I think the Senton is better value, even though it doesn't come with a battery. The Senton also does what it claims to do on the box.

Hard to believe this was 3 years ago I ended up getting one of the last ones or the last green one mine did 55 mph lil over 1/4 throttle with taller tires n 21 tooth pinion 120a 2-6 s waterkooled esc with 2 3 s 80c 6000 mah lipos in series the stock batteries only lasted me a couple runs the stock esc shot n blew out fire n smoke n burnt up every chip for amps inside of it the stock body melted in the heat of summer so I have buggy body on it now soft racing tires I rebuilt the center diff with another 1/8 scale metal gear n used the plastic part that has all the smaller gears from this 9203.. n now I'm trying to get it to rc race track
Hey Saylors, another great video! Arrma Senton all the way. I have had 3 ZD racing trucks, and I would rate them as good for the price. However I would be willing to bet that in the "bash dept." the Arrma will be far superior. In fact my next truck will be the Arrma Big Rock 3S BLX. Arrma makes an incredibly tough well built truck that you really have to wail the snot out of to break it.
Wonder if the body is getting an updraft from the ground popping up the front and also aiding in slowing it down. See if you can somehow make the front of the body to stay as close to the ground as possible and see if you get better speeds.
I'd have to say that little green truck is the one to beat (unless of course.....there's a faster/better one i haven't watched yet from your old videos) For me it doesn't really matter that this truck came with two batteries and a charger....unless those batteries are the top of the line as with the charger.... Maybe if this had a price tag of $200 i'd consider it....but having the price soo close it's definitely a no brainer to get the green machine!
You guys should take certain height for a female as full size, and then do some photos of the child when she(?) reaches scaled height like 1/32, 1/24, 1/18 etc with some notes on the photos in family album, would be so funny :-D
Liked the ARRMA better. Like that the pinion and spur gears are enclosed. Like that it reached its advertised speed. This is just based on your videos as I've not driven either car.
Problem is that the esc or motor won't like it. If the rig is advertised as a 50 mph rc, that's what it should do, and it should do it when set up for normal bashing.
ARRMA is your best choice, I have both and ZD can be a pain getting parts, I can get ARRMA parts at my local hobby shop, but it almost never breaks, my ZD has been down for a month now waiting on a 5 dollar part GET THE ARRMA. * ^
You have to be a complete MORON or Arrama Troll...it's just typical 12.75" buggie chassis and 1/8 scale parts...There's 1/8 parts from whatever brands or after market up the wazoooo.....On 13T or 15T pinon 48 spur..is about right.. 18T-22T pinon set is only $7. even my RC8 wont do 50 on 15T pinon. FFS All my 1/8 do over 50mph EASY and Pop wheelies on Command on a 4076 2250..with 18T pinon. (No name) 120A Ocady 4s 50C zop power...... The Esc has to be set on HIGH...i have the same motor and esc in my KingsMotor 14.75 wheels base...extend Hex on 6.5" Mud Tires... It'll still pop wheelies..i gear it down to 15 T to give it more torque becuase of the bigger dia tires...and it has 4mm thick chasis Out of box.. Which is BEEFIER than a Kraton......wont do 50mph on the 4S set up... it's a BRICK 12LB Loaded..... Stock up on those plastic drive for your arrma....they''ll break like sticks or the PIN's slots will get enlarge over time...from the torque.. My brushless Tmaxx conversions have MIP CVD and center drive lines for reasons....I have better things to do with my life than change plastic parts every other week.....
I went to the Park to today it was 61 deg here in central Missouri . I took my Traxxas Slash 4x4 up with lot of upgrades. I have the Traxxas GPS app tell you on your phone are laptop everything about the car . I was only getting 27 mph , I know i have to change the gears. It should do 65. I well have to look into that ZD 9203 .

You should try the VKAR RACING 61101 SCTX10 (3s version), I love that car (but properly glue the tires before racing it) And yes the arrma senton over this one for sure

i just got one of these trucks n its got the dumborc 4ch radio an upgraded 120amp esc that burned up on its 4th run i got a 40$ refund a nd after fees i was left 36$ i tried putting a 22tooth pinion but it was to big so i put a 21 tooth pinion on put my old faithful 2-6s esc in it to replace the junk stock one then 2 2200mah 3s in series for 25.2v n put my phones gps speedometer on it n i hit 55 mph or 88.5kph n i have a little bit more throttle left but i can only take so many runs as the motor drains my batteries and at 111f out the motor n esc were hot so i shut it down... center diff sucksb its plastic so im going to try custom building one thats metal n i have a traxass xo1 34tooth pinion that will need mods done to chassis for motor mount ... so the motor is better then what comes stock in ktm cars since the ktm motors stopped running on 1st run with 6s n the zd motor is still running strong just gotta watch temp...
It's the first I've seen of it, looks descent, but you guys said it was a eighth scale....like what I've seen with some aluminum parts but not in detail,and part hop ups....
So the Arrma Typhon hit the advertised speed out of the box, is waterproof, has a sealed gear box. I feel that the Arrma is the hands down winner! Also, very disappointed to see that the ZD Racing 9203 motor gears are not protected. Any small stones or other debris that get in there could cause damage to the gears. Kinda a bad design. Keep up the good work!
In all my years of running rc cars offroad, I have NEVER damaged a pinion or spur gear with debris. Yes they wear out over time, hence why they are cheap and considered wear items. Look at most high end bashers and racers, just about all of them run exposed pinion/spur or clutch bell/spur. Hell I have removed the flimsy cover from the rear of my Arrma Raider XL BLX and that gear set sits way out there in the back. Don't let a pinion/spur cover or waterproofing be a deal breaker. If you want a truly water proof car, there's a much better and simpler solution. Waterproof esc, servo and motor can. Add water proofed XT150 connectors to your battery and your set. Generally speaking, the electronics in these rigs should be waterproof. It's a shame that the manufactures choose subpar electronics that are bandaided with "waterproof" esc and receiver boxes.
I rolled a rock down a mountain the other day and it was pretty fun and cost me nothing. Of course the guy that it hit in the head has threatened to sue so it just might've cost me more than this truck would've. 😉
Seems like the car is maxing out very quickly. It has a very large motor much bigger then the arrmar and lower KV so I think 6S would be where it's maximum performance is found. Also you could probably run on 4S and get a larger pinion gear.
Yeah, on the drive home with Abby, I was talking about running 6S on this thing. I asked her to look it up on the website and see if it says it can support 6S but it didn't seem to say it anywhere, or so what we could see on our phones. I'm starting to wonder if this should be run on 6S. I'm glad you brought this up.. Definitely going to look into it a bit more now. Happy Valentine's Day and thanks for tuning in andrew!

It's the drivetrain which would be the main concern, seems like it would be fine for a speed run on a flat serface. Although I'd probably keep the bashing to 4S
i did just buy the truck from you guys though lol i think i can bring it back to life i have a spare Esc and motor that is 2200kv and can handle 4s and 6s and reciver just in case, i think the reason that car only went 37 mph is because it was on 4s all of my cars that run 2200kv motors go between 30mph and 35mph on 4s and do around 45mph to 50mph on 6s
Some people are budget shoppers, so if price does factor in for you, it could be an easy choice to go with the ZD truck here. You've gotta consider the Senton is about $100 more with batteries and a charger, maybe more. Still, yeah.. Good choice ;-)

Prefer the Arrma. I'm not familiar with this truck, but it's not the batteries, because that difference is just too massive, however it should do about 56 mph on 6S. Hope you guys will do another test on this. It's actually great consumer information for those who are in fact looking for a 50 mph truck. Needless to say a lot of buyers would be dissapointed and upset. Had it done 45-47 it's not a deal breaker, but 37 for a rig that is advertised at 50 is simply unacceptable.
Considering the fact that it is a 1/10 short course 120 Ah esc, not exactly. Yes, it might work but it's not the same as it being a good idea. And that motor is probably a cheapo Leopard 3670 2400kv rebrand which will get smoking hot on 6S. It's a 3S/4S rig, not a 6S by any stretch of the imagination.
Arrma senton is way better by far , I just got two of the new senton 6s blx v3 there amazing for it's price, bashing very fast got mine stock to hit 58mph out the box on 5200mah lipos haven't used the gear that came with it to hit 60mph I have no doubt it will go well past it I'm a new arrma fan.
It's funny I run my truck on 4s an it lots faster . Mine sounds faster it revs higher . I use 100c 2s zeee batterys from Amazon maybe try new lipos . Good vid anyway
I would rather have the Arrma senton 3s because I just like the Senton not the 1/8 th scale. Even though I have to buy my own batteries since I don't have any 2 cell or 3 cell anyway.

Sorry Abby, the power dosent go through it at 4000 milli amps (1:55 ) got kinda excited...it's all good.
Mispoke, but when batteries are run in Series, if you have two 4,000 mah bats, and each is 2s, it equates to a 4s 4000 mah bat.

Liked the ARRMA better. Like that the pinion and spur gears are enclosed. Like that it reached its advertised speed. This is just based on your videos as I've not driven either car.
I have to say I like the senton better fast n looks cooler. However I like the typhon even better. Would love to try that out in the back 40!
Cool. If you gear the pinion tooth up 2 or 3 teeth you'll get more speed. I like the ZD racer better and happy Valentine's day to you as well.
Problem is that the esc or motor won't like it. If the rig is advertised as a 50 mph rc, that's what it should do, and it should do it when set up for normal bashing.
Is one 3S lipo is enough for esc and motor, must 2 lipos?
ARRMA is your best choice, I have both and ZD can be a pain getting parts, I can get ARRMA parts at my local hobby shop, but it almost never breaks, my ZD has been down for a month now waiting on a 5 dollar part GET THE ARRMA.

You have to be a complete MORON or Arrama Troll...it's just typical 12.75" buggie chassis and 1/8 scale parts...There's 1/8 parts from whatever brands or after market up the wazoooo.....On 13T or 15T pinon 48 spur..is about right..
18T-22T pinon set is only $7. even my RC8 wont do 50 on 15T pinon. FFS
All my 1/8 do over 50mph EASY and Pop wheelies on Command on a 4076 2250..with 18T pinon.

KingsMotor 14.75 wheels base...extend Hex on 6.5" Mud Tires...
It'll still pop wheelies..i gear it down to 15 T to give it more torque

Which is BEEFIER than a Kraton......wont do 50mph on the 4S set up...

I went to the Park to today it was 61 deg here in central Missouri . I took my Traxxas Slash 4x4 up with lot of upgrades. I have the Traxxas GPS app tell you on your phone are laptop everything about the car . I was only getting 27 mph , I know i have to change the gears. It should do 65. I well have to look into that ZD 9203 .

You should try the VKAR RACING 61101 SCTX10 (3s version), I love that car (but properly glue the tires before racing it)

i just got one of these trucks n its got the dumborc 4ch radio an upgraded 120amp esc that burned up on its 4th run i got a 40$ refund a nd after fees i was left 36$ i tried putting a 22tooth pinion but it was to big so i put a 21 tooth pinion on put my old faithful 2-6s esc in it to replace the junk stock one then 2 2200mah 3s in series for 25.2v n put my phones gps speedometer on it n i hit 55 mph or 88.5kph n i have a little bit more throttle left but i can only take so many runs as the motor drains my batteries and at 111f out the motor n esc were hot so i shut it down... center diff sucksb its plastic so im going to try custom building one thats metal n i have a traxass xo1 34tooth pinion that will need mods done to chassis for motor mount ... so the motor is better then what comes stock in ktm cars since the ktm motors stopped running on 1st run with 6s n the zd motor is still running strong just gotta watch temp...

Internals look okay. Like that there's an option for this price. Anybody know if the differentials are metal gears or plastic.
It's the first I've seen of it, looks descent, but you guys said it was a eighth scale....like what I've seen with some aluminum parts but not in detail,and part hop ups....

So the Arrma Typhon hit the advertised speed out of the box, is waterproof, has a sealed gear box. I feel that the Arrma is the hands down winner! Also, very disappointed to see that the ZD Racing 9203 motor gears are not protected. Any small stones or other debris that get in there could cause damage to the gears. Kinda a bad design. Keep up the good work!
In all my years of running rc cars offroad, I have NEVER damaged a pinion or spur gear with debris. Yes they wear out over time, hence why they are cheap and considered wear items. Look at most high end bashers and racers, just about all of them run exposed pinion/spur or clutch bell/spur. Hell I have removed the flimsy cover from the rear of my Arrma Raider XL BLX and that gear set sits way out there in the back.
Don't let a pinion/spur cover or waterproofing be a deal breaker. If you want a truly water proof car, there's a much better and simpler solution. Waterproof esc, servo and motor can. Add water proofed XT150 connectors to your battery and your set.
Generally speaking, the electronics in these rigs should be waterproof. It's a shame that the manufactures choose subpar electronics that are bandaided with "waterproof" esc and receiver boxes.
I rolled a rock down a mountain the other day and it was pretty fun and cost me nothing. Of course the guy that it hit in the head has threatened to sue so it just might've cost me more than this truck would've. 😉
Seems like the car is maxing out very quickly. It has a very large motor much bigger then the arrmar and lower KV so I think 6S would be where it's maximum performance is found. Also you could probably run on 4S and get a larger pinion gear.
Yeah, on the drive home with Abby, I was talking about running 6S on this thing. I asked her to look it up on the website and see if it says it can support 6S but it didn't seem to say it anywhere, or so what we could see on our phones. I'm starting to wonder if this should be run on 6S. I'm glad you brought this up.. Definitely going to look into it a bit more now. Happy Valentine's Day and thanks for tuning in andrew!

You can plug in a 6S and see if you get 6 beeps, buy the looks of it those ESC's they are rated 2-6S
Also all the 4274 size 2200kv motors all say up too 6S too.
It's the drivetrain which would be the main concern, seems like it would be fine for a speed run on a flat serface.
Although I'd probably keep the bashing to 4S

i did just buy the truck from you guys though lol i think i can bring it back to life i have a spare Esc and motor that is 2200kv and can handle 4s and 6s and reciver just in case, i think the reason that car only went 37 mph is because it was on 4s all of my cars that run 2200kv motors go between 30mph and 35mph on 4s and do around 45mph to 50mph on 6s

Some people are budget shoppers, so if price does factor in for you, it could be an easy choice to go with the ZD truck here. You've gotta consider the Senton is about $100 more with batteries and a charger, maybe more. Still, yeah.. Good choice ;-)

I'm not familiar with this truck, but it's not the batteries, because that difference is just too massive, however it should do about 56 mph on 6S.
Hope you guys will do another test on this. It's actually great consumer information for those who are in fact looking for a 50 mph truck. Needless to say a lot of buyers would be dissapointed and upset. Had it done 45-47 it's not a deal breaker, but 37 for a rig that is advertised at 50 is simply unacceptable.

Considering the fact that it is a 1/10 short course 120 Ah esc, not exactly. Yes, it might work but it's not the same as it being a good idea. And that motor is probably a cheapo Leopard 3670 2400kv rebrand which will get smoking hot on 6S. It's a 3S/4S rig, not a 6S by any stretch of the imagination.
Arrma senton is way better by far , I just got two of the new senton 6s blx v3 there amazing for it's price, bashing very fast got mine stock to hit 58mph out the box on 5200mah lipos haven't used the gear that came with it to hit 60mph I have no doubt it will go well past it I'm a new arrma fan.
I'm confused . . You say 1/8 scale yet the 1/10 Traxxas Slash has a longer wheelbase at 335mm compared to 325 of this ZD Racing truck . .

It's funny I run my truck on 4s an it lots faster . Mine sounds faster it revs higher . I use 100c 2s zeee batterys from Amazon maybe try new lipos . Good vid anyway
That lack of speed is a deal breaker for me. For a couple hundred more you can step way up to several Arrma bashers.
If you shop around, you csn get the Arrma Senton 3S BLX for the same as this. The 6S is 200 more, but then your choices are also much more plentiful.
I would rather have the Arrma senton 3s because I just like the Senton not the 1/8 th scale. Even though I have to buy my own batteries since I don't have any 2 cell or 3 cell anyway.
