Nice vid. First one I’ve seen that actually located the front fill location with enough light to see it. Just my thoughts, but a crush washer won’t ever really look bad. They’re purpose is to crush when torqued and therefore are one time use only. Not replacing it and retorquing to the same value invites the chance for leaks. While you may not have had any, I still think it’s bad form to not replace those every single time no matter what.
I'll say it, great video visually but can you put some thought into voice recording to get a level that is easily audible . Common utube problem, very quiet content volume x4 volume for (cough) back ground music.
Can we reach to the fill hole from the bottom to fill the gear oil as you have shown to reach it. I looked into my outback 2015, i couldn't find the fill hole from the top
Fantastic, thanks so much for posting this. I have the exact same car. Just had transmission work a month ago and I noticed some cleat fluid under the diff/tranny pan. Brought it back to dealer who said it's diff fluid. Car has 100k and never changed diff fluid. I noticed yours was black. Is that the norm for used fluid? I find it hard to believe 100k fluid would be crystal clear. Dealer cannot find leak. Had car 3 days. Want to periodically check diff fluid level. Any ideas?
All fluids change color after awhile. I'm guessing that the dealer might have changed the front diff fluid and somehow forgot to mention it to you. To find the leak, clean really well and check it daily so you can see exactly where the leak is coming from.
The full level should be checked / filled when the vehicle is on level ground. I mentioned this when I was putting the car up on jack stands using the measuring tape.

Thanks for your video, I'm planning to change the gear for my Subaru forester xt 2014
Great vid now you just need a microphone to hear you better
Good day! what number of torx wrench for drain plug, T60 , T65 or T 70? Thnx for your reply.
Loved the video, hated the music!
Do you think it's possible to do the front diff without jacking up or using ramps? Doesn't seem any lower than the engine oil plug
Hi, can you Tell me where i must refill the CVT oil? Thank you

Thanks for the video. Do you have a part number for the crush washer? Can't seem to find them online.
Great vid. Keep it up bro.
Did you wind up doing the rear diff as well?
I did not do the rear. I'll be doing it next time when I do the front again since the front diff takes more load than the rear.

Reyes Racing , thanks very much for your response. You are probably correct. Happy Thanksgiving
isn't your vehicle supposed to be leveled when you do the fill?

Question. The black pan to the left of the dif. with the drain plug on it, what is that reservoir for?
Transmission pan.
Nice work. What's the song?
The music was obnoxious and way to loud.
NA is different ...
Thanks for the info!
