That's the same feeling i got after test riding the 2022 Indian Chief. After my first ride, I told them, i want this bike. 30 mins later i was financed and out the door! Almost a month later I still get that feeling with the bike. This is my forever bike. But to be honest, i also want an Indian Scout for super short rides. Indian has me for life.
Wanted to thank Freddie and other bike enthusiasts (the ones i 've been following on youtube and watching, and also the ones in the comments - their opinion i read with joy). I do not have bike, but it has been my wish and dream for a long time (living in a country with low standards - for example: low price bikes are not that low price here). Right now i'm at crazy period in my life between finishing college and starting a carier (im 27yrs young!) so it is going to be a long ride before i even get my first bike. But videos like this one and people like these are just fueling my desire - that's why i needed to thank you all. I'm gonna grind, and study and be a better person, so i can achieve freedom like that as fast as possible. Cheers everyone! Edit: I forgot to mention - I am learning so much about bikes watching and reading everything here!
been drooling over this bike all day and decided to go to youtube to find something objective that would calm my jets. ya this didnt do it for me but this is a great look at the bike. I know you keep saying its an expensive bike, but what you get with this bike its an absolute bargain. some day..
I have a 17 Indian Springfield on the back of the button stack on both sides there is a toggle button to cycle through the digital section of the speedo Total mileage, Trip 1, Trip 2, avg mpg, Range, RPM, Battery amperage, ambient temperature and the right buttons toggle front and rear tire pressure. I know this is an older video so you may not have found the toggles or it may not be on the vintage but it probably is there.
The last 2 mins of this video you hit upon the reason to pay so much for a motorcycle...You only live once ..well at least that we remember....so might has well sell your home and ride around the world with that smile on your face...and I am thinking of doing just that at this late point in my life 68 years old...starting point the USA...Calif
I am glad that you liked it. I owned this bike for 2 years and thoroughly loved it, but Harley Davidson made me a deal on the 2022 Nightster that I could not refuse. The only problem that I ever had with the Darkhorse was clogged fuel injectors from bad fuel.
every word you say is pretty much on point. I just got the exact bike 6 weeks ago. You did however forget to mention all the different displays on the LCD screen which is control by a button behind the clutch and the brake. These buttons change the riding modes of which there are three, plus you have average speed per litre of fuel, the k's left before you have to fuel up, a fuel gage, tachometer, temp, clock, x2 trip counters, temperature etc... the bike also tells you when you have to pump up your tires. I love the cruise control and the cyclinder deactivation for when the bike is idling or going at slow speeds. Its keyless as well. I have no doubt you have already worked this all out though. Just thought Id add in some extra's, because yes this bike is an incredible bike and so nimble as well. Happy and safe riding and I look forward to further posts from you sir.
Oh wow, I hope you've had some happy rides on a real dream bike of mine! And thanks for the heads up on the buttons- I just figured this out two days before I gave the bike back!😆
This is how a review should be like: a friendly conversation with food and drinks and that beautiful energy and excitement. Amazing machine by the way, I own a 2021 Scout Bobber Twenty which is a gorgeous motorcycle and this is the only bike that I would give it up for. It's just spot on and well put together, totally worth the money. Americans definitely know what they're doing when it comes to cars and motorcycles! Thank you for the amazing video buddy! ✌🏻😜
They sure have. I’m very tempted by them. Only disappointment is how they’re flogging their heritage, when the brand didn’t exist for around half a century. But at the end of the day they’re building a better bike across their entire range because I guess their customers aren’t so died in the wool heritage centric as that other brand. 😀
Today in 2 days i'm going to buy my first Bike. It's gonna be a 2014 Harley Davidson Fatboy... only because, i cant afford a Dark Horse. Greeting from Germany.
Great candid video. Can’t agree more with you on how this bike gets in your heart. I stopped at Indian dealer to look at a Scout for fun while on the way to pick up my R NineT (i.e. thinking about my down the road future replacement for my other bike). They sent me on a test ride on the Vintage Dark Horse and I came back with he biggest smile on my face. It is a hot rod muscle bike that pushes all your emotional buttons. It will likely either be this or Springfield Dark Horse when I open the checkbook next year.
The Indian Chief ( Dark Horse ) Vintage are really beautiful bikes. The preformance, power, looks and comfort are truelly amazing. The Thunderstroke 111ci or 116ci is a beautiful designed motor and smooth and torque everywere. Cant wait to see your video after 2 weeks👌🏻

Awesome video, outstanding motorcycle. I ride my Indian from San Diego, CA to Albuquerque, NM often and I couldn't think of a better motorcycle for the job. If you ever find yourself in the states, we'll do a ride from San Diego to Albuquerque.
I have a slightly older version of the same bike so always interesting to someone elses take on it. Loving your presenting style lots of passion. Re the speedo/gauge if you flick through the trigger on the handlebar you can cycle through trip/mpg/revs/temp etc in the small display
This is still a real dream bike for me- I LOVE it! Thanks for the heads up on this- I read your comment when I had the Vintage but completely forgot to reply, so thank you and my apologies!🙂
Just purchased a end of clearance 2019 model of this bike can't wait to get it. Think the main difference is the 29°rake and 111 engine but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be happy 😍. Was so torn between the two.
Oh wow- I bet you cannot wait!!! I agree- I'm sure you'll lose nothing in terms of character and theatre from opting for the 2019 (I'd do the same!). Enjoy it!🙂
I think this is my favourite lndian because of the weight reduction from the vintage version. I think a custom military green or grey would look cooler than the black. I might look for a older version and repaint the tank and fenders also make my own leather panniers as l hear the lndian ones are a tad on the pricey side.
Hi all! I'm so sorry about the 30% discount code not working. I've just emailed XYZCTEM to re-activate the code and will keep you posted asap. I'm on the case🙂
Someone's gonna be on a downer in 2 weeks time when the trailer pulls away and it's back to the Triumph 😂 I know how I felt when I sold my Triumph TR6 when I was a good bit younger than I am now. It Broke my heart to see it disappear into the sunset, still brings a lump to my throat to think about it. Looking forward to the next instalment 👍🏻
Ahhhh I feel your pain- I can imagine very clearly how painful it must be knowing you owned a TR6- they are incredibly beautiful bikes (the cars are stunning too!!)😍
Watching your videos I'm thinking that maybe I've come across someone else who has the same over welming enthusiasm and love for motorcycles of all types as myself, well done for expressing it so well on your videos I a way that I simply could not do. Nice one 👍😊.
Isn't it. I'm probably the same as you- Indian may just pip Harley to the post, although I'd love to try the new Harley Softail Deluxe to compare the two!
This bike with a back seat review from Monica, and some zz top music in both your ears. A 360 camera on the rear and a camera facing you on the bar. Priceless 🤣😂😆😅oh can we get some back seat review's and recommendations from Monica? On the various bikes you review? Would be cool for the ladies that ride alone.
Cool jacket. Your best so far on the videos I have watched. I used to have a similar one. Wish I'd kept it. Good panniers minus the fringes. Nice bike but heavy.
Yet again loved the video. Really like the fact you give equal priority between the bikes, the trip and your apparel. Not sure how you sleep though with all the coffee you drink 😂
I appreciate cruisers. But having owned a Harley for 8 years while living in the UK, in the end I felt it was limited fun on British B roads or around town. Maybe its where I live, but the boat-like cruiser nature was really hindered by narrow twistys -which I'm forced to ride to get to more suitable roads. I think Bonnies and similar Euro style mid-size bikes are much more usable over this side of the pond, tho might lack some of that theatre. Great review, as always, Feddie!

Great vid. I own a Indian Chief Dark Horse from a few years back. Its a good bike to ride and I've done a bit of a review on my YT Channel myself. I've owned plenty of bikes in my time plus have worked on hundreds more. I cant see me ever selling mine as its comfortable and can eat up the miles with ease. I've travelled on it up and down the East Coast of Australia a few times and I've never broken down or had any major problems. Anyway great vid. Cheers Rick MTR Australia.
Thanks very much for this insight Rick- very interesting to get your thoughts on it with all of your experience! I can imagine it’s the perfect bike for clocking up the gigantic miles in Australia! I’ll be watching your YT vid!🙂
Brilliant to see your excitement with this bike, I can't bond with the looks personally but that does really have something unique about it. Also your 'cheap' jacket is incredible! I would have been fooled thinking that was a Goldtop or a Lewis Leathers like mine. Frank Thomas do a great job sometimes they are really underrated. Looks like you had a brilliant ride and I can imagine the feeling you'd get just rumbling along on this lovely bike. Excited to see what you do with it
@@FreddieDobbs Very welcome indeed. Well its a J&S own brand which is why their stores are packed with them, so I think they just rely on their own footfall to sell slowly over time. My wax cotton jacket is a frank thomas too and honestly i'm tempted to just buy it again. 7 years for a £140 jacket, re-waxed once is pretty great. Only now its starting to rip at the seems that get lots of use like the sleeves area & around the zip sections, I have a Goldtop for special occasions, i've been eyeing up a Lewis Leathers one but that will be like big milestone birthday treat so a few years yet, Plus the chest pockets seem to have stretched so I do look like I have breasts now, its a funny sight! I need to iron them back a bit flatter again :D
@@FreddieDobbs I think I need too :D Cheers I have the goldtop brown bobber & had it custom trimmed with no front on the collar it was getting very tight around my neck on long trips. Lovely jackets worth looking into, special occasions only though
Don't sit on the fence Freddie.....did you like it or not 😂. I've recently found your channel and I must say your videos are really entertaining and informative. You bring a really different perspective to a bike review. I thoroughly enjoy them. Keep up the good work and I'll catch up all of your other videos. Cheers. 👍
It’s an unbelievable bike!!🖤. The coffee shop is called Arts Cafe, in Charlton- it’s a brilliant little spot!🙂👌🏻 Fantastic- I hope you like the cover!🙂
Amazing and good looking person and I loved your motorcycles.I want to own a motorcycle with the blessings of Good people and enjoy the motorcycle riding
The R18's a bike I'd love to try- BMW have got the styling absolutely spot on and perfectly in keeping with BMW- it's a beauty! Good old South East London!🖤🙂
Watching that put me in a great mood. I just had the same feeling gs for a Marshall amplifier I just bought....didnt need it...what price happiness? Except the scary driving on the wrong side of the road, thoroughly enjoyed your happy time. Much love from Texas. Subbed!
Thanks very much for the support Roger- brilliant to have a subscriber from Texas!! Very true- these things, whether an amp or bike, bring so much happiness🖤 Wishing you well in Texas!
DOT spec is trash, you really should have an ECE or SNELL certification for your dome. Love your enthusiasm and the bike has got me a semi but there’s no half measures on a lid . Great review. Stay safe and enjoy 👊🏻
Thanks so much for this input Wayne- an important point you make! DOT helmets look better because they have a slimmer profile, but they are worse for safety. Thanks Wayne🙂
@@FreddieDobbs Your welcome Freddie, with a bit of research I found that ECE testing is far more rigorous in every aspect as opposed to the testing procedures of that in the US . SNELL on the other hand are Race Ready Globally. ✌🏻
Jesus Mary Joseph and the wee donkey how did it get through Euro 5? 😲 Not my favourite Indian I prefer the FTR’ but they’re definitely upping their game and Harley must be having a few sleepless nights seeing the Indian range. Bit too expensive I reckon but that V-Twin engine is a work of art and if you want to feel special then special doesn’t come cheap 🤷 Another great upload Freddie but I’d deffo keep Monika and the flat, I mean what would Batman have been with out Robin and the bat cave?
🤣🤣🤣 very good point about the bat cave- I'll keep the flat for now! You are right- it's not cheap, and a pillion seat doesn't come as standard either! I have no idea how it passed Euro5- it's blown my mind a bit. The FTR is a really cool looking bike- that's a great shout!
I can't believe there aren't more reviews for this bike honestly. It's a freaking beautiful machine. You made me just want to buy it more.

Looks like you had a brilliant ride and I can imagine the feeling you'd get just rumbling along on this lovely bike. Excited to see what you do with it
Really glad you enjoyed it, thank you!🙂
You're so right- Frank Thomas actually do a few decent pieces, but their marketing is non-existent!
Only now its starting to rip at the seems that get lots of use like the sleeves area & around the zip sections,
I have a Goldtop for special occasions, i've been eyeing up a Lewis Leathers one but that will be like big milestone birthday treat so a few years yet,
Plus the chest pockets seem to have stretched so I do look like I have breasts now, its a funny sight! I need to iron them back a bit flatter again :D
@@AnotherHipster get the iron out!🤣🤣🤣
Goldtop and Lewis Leathers would be a superb pair of jackets to own!
@@FreddieDobbs I think I need too :D
Cheers I have the goldtop brown bobber & had it custom trimmed with no front on the collar it was getting very tight around my neck on long trips. Lovely jackets worth looking into, special occasions only though
@@AnotherHipster Interesting!
Great video as always Freddie! Would you mind share what boots are you wearing in the beginning of the video? Keep up the good work. Cheers.
of course; the Rokker Urban Racer 8"👌
@@FreddieDobbs thanks a lot!
Don't sit on the fence Freddie.....did you like it or not 😂. I've recently found your channel and I must say your videos are really entertaining and informative. You bring a really different perspective to a bike review. I thoroughly enjoy them. Keep up the good work and I'll catch up all of your other videos. Cheers. 👍
Thanks Paul! I did get veeeeery over excited on this review!😆😆
Recently found your channel and slowly going through them. Really loving your content. What's your opinion on owning 2 bikes please?
That's a beast of a bike Freddie, bit of a history tour too, where's that coffee shop located? Oh and bike cover ordered!
It’s an unbelievable bike!!🖤. The coffee shop is called Arts Cafe, in Charlton- it’s a brilliant little spot!🙂👌🏻
Fantastic- I hope you like the cover!🙂
Amazing and good looking person and I loved your motorcycles.I want to own a motorcycle with the blessings of Good people and enjoy the motorcycle riding
Interesting video. A cool bike. A cool ship. A ride around London. Yep, I subbed ;-)
Thank you Silat, appreciate it!🙂
I thought about one of those but am happy with my R18. Nice review and in the best part of London - SE of course
The R18's a bike I'd love to try- BMW have got the styling absolutely spot on and perfectly in keeping with BMW- it's a beauty! Good old South East London!🖤🙂
@@FreddieDobbs I'm sure you'd love it.
Very true- these things, whether an amp or bike, bring so much happiness🖤
Wishing you well in Texas!
Great video as ever. Looking forward to part two!
Thanks David!
That`s a really nice leather jacket too.
Thanks MJ, still my favourite and a relative cheap-e!
Beautiful Machine! Classic Style' Great Video!
London looks Awesome....
Thanks Simon, I still haven’t calmed down- four days later!😆
What a beautiful bike!
Now... This is my kind of motorcycle! Black beauty bam balam... oowwwww...
It's incredible hey!😀. A proper dream bike!!
Not my type of bike but I love your enthusiasm.
Appreciate it!🙂
9:15 Hahahahahahahaha...The woman saves his home !....
Great video! Loved the content! Keep up the good work!
Arnie should have ridden this in Terminator 2!
That would've been perfect!😀
Made me laugh a lot this one Freddie especially the finance thinking. I would still chose the Harley over this though.
The boat is the old Red1 Airsoft site called Da Boat
Just googled it- I had no idea! Thanks for sharing that
As Ferris Bueller says, "If you have the means, I highly recommend it." 8)
😆😆
does it come with navigation in the futur?
Good question- I think they will start coming with a brilliant looking satnav built in- very soon!👌
I know HD is suppose to be America's bike but for me it's always been Indian. If that's not Merika I don't know what is.
It's like half bike half truck , it's huge!🤣 Great vid mate
It is gigantic- it's almost as long as my Fiat 500!! Thanks James🙂
@@FreddieDobbs
Your welcome Freddie, with a bit of research I found that ECE testing is far more rigorous in every aspect as opposed to the testing procedures of that in the US .
SNELL on the other hand are Race Ready Globally. ✌🏻
@@waynegorman697 really interesting! I'll remember this, thank you Wayne!🙂
Thanks for the video love your enthusiasm !
Really glad you enjoyed it, thanks Raymond!🙌🏻
Freddie, I have a triumph scrambler 2010, do you have an opportunity of make a review of a similar model?
I have the Street Scrambler coming in 20 days!🙂
Perfect 👍
Great enthusiasm here, great video!
Thank you, really appreciate it!
Does the bike come with an Elvis?
It's an option extra (and it doesn't come cheap!)😆
Do you get an issues with the open face? Looks amazing BTW
No issues at all. It fits very well too👌
Jesus Mary Joseph and the wee donkey how did it get through Euro 5?
Great video and a really stunning bike!
Thanks very much Alexander!
bro sick videos, what a leather jacket man!!! what brand is it? Greetings from argentina
Great video Freddie!!👊🏻
Thank you Otacilio!🙂
@@FreddieDobbs Thanks for mentioning my name. I can imagine how difficult it is to write it!!😁
@@Tvaz1 my pleasure!🙂🤜🏼🤛🏼
