Woohoo, that looked very easy! Never tried one of those Feather razors but the angle looked a little high (unless that's how it cuts?). I think much of straight razor shaving is incremental improvements from each shave until you've developed a flow that works for you.

Am I adjusting the angle like I would with a safety razor in that case, or is it somehow different because it's an open blade?
I jumped right into straight razor shaving at the start of the new year, and my technique is downright horrible. I can do a with the grain for the first pass but that's about it. The second and third passes are tuggy and difficult for me to find the angle. I'm using factory edges, on my straights, so some community members think the blades need to be honed, others think my lather may not be "wet" enough. I have heard folks that straight razor shave prefer wetter lather. Even my with the grain passes doesn't look or feel smooth, so I could be missing the correct angle as well. I try to keep the angle narrow, but maybe I need to open it up a bit. My skin stretching most likely also needs improvement. Definitely a different feel than any safety razor shave I have had. It will be an interesting journey!
Not bad for your 1st time sir. You are one step closer to using a straight razor. But be warned. Straight razors are the deepest part of the shaving rabbit hole. Lol
