    Johan, awesome shave. Yes, I am checking your older video for Shavette shaves using an AC blade. In my opinion, you did great, but what do I know, I'm still starting. I have AC blades coming for my IBC, and this was a great cautious tutorial prior to me sticking one in the IBC. Thank you for letting us see the first shave with the blades. Thanks again.

    I have that same exact razor very nice if fact I use to shave quite regularly with this razor until I cut my cheek quite badly then I stop using this razor I should have taken a few days off an gotten back on the horse but instead I got intimidated and never went back to shaving with it. Well now I have the non folded version of this razor and I got back into shaving with this razor and now I really enjoy using it. As for your style of holding your razor I say jolly good on you for holding the razor in the manner with best suites you and you own no one any apologies for how you shave with your razor. Hi in reply to your reply I just got a knock off Artisan Club Feather S R shavette from Ail Express very nice razor very comfortable around the edge of the razor as it is rounded off to prevent cuts and irritation more so that the older Feather DX and I must say I love my Feather SR better than my Feather DX. Now I use the Feather Soft Guard Blade in my SR and it is super smooth now I also have my Razr-Rock Hawk with the A plate and with that razor I use the Feather Super Blade and that razor gives me an awesome shave so if you ever were thinking about another Feather Artisan Razor the SR is better than the DX. Again brother your style of shaving rules be cool man Cheers.

    Great video and honestly, entertaining. My professional advice would be to use short strokes and rinse your razor after three to four short strokes. This will allow to see the razor and its angle, which will give you more confidence and will result in less mishaps. Cheers!

    Great shave! I didn't think you were slow. Had the same razor and the Japanese handle one to teach myself technique before using a Straight. Yes, gave great shaves, however many nicks at first, but once that stopped and became proficient then it was time to up the game. I think the Straights are gentler on my skin with less irritation. Loaned my Feather to the boss to learn technique so he can move up and join the club.

    Well Done!!! I have this exact razor as well as the SS version which is much more forgiving in my opinion. My technique has really improved with the Pro Blades. You will find if you wait to let your beard come out over a few days, you'll get a far more satisfying shave with this razor. I can shave with it everyday if I want but I like to change it up with DE Razors as well. CHEERS!!!

      @@Shave_n_Butcher I find the SS version to be easier to use....I actually have both the Kamisori and Folding versions...LOL...I have RAD. I use the Pro Guard Blades with the DX...I get a great shave with less weepers that way. I know they're called "shavettes" but I consider them to be straight razors without the maintenance and actually much sharper than traditional straight razors, so in a way even more demanding in terms of shaving technique but also greater shave satisfaction once you really get the hang of it.

  • @MrRRSODL
    @MrRRSODL 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Excellent video! I wouldn't even try a rubber shevette if I had Parkinson's lol. If holding the razor that way is comfortable to you then who cares what other people think. Isn't that how you'd hold a kamisory anyway. Ive been learning to shave with the Feather Artist Club SS and it's going very well, I'm impressed how close the shave is. I've just pretend I'm shaving with a very sharp SR and that works for me. My first shave was with a Feather Professional and it wasn't as smooth as the 3rd, 4th, etc.
    I'm enjoying the shevette but I miss the SR feedback so I go back to SR in between shaves with the shevette.
    The one thing I do differently is the lather, for SR and shevette my lather is wetter, enough to see through, I can't remember whose tip it was but I've done that for the last 3 and bit years that I've been straight razor shaving.
    I might get a DX at some point, to have something different to shave with ;)
    Good luck

    • @Shave_n_Butcher
      @Shave_n_Butcher  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, Sir. I agree on the lather. I don't need it to be see-through but it sure needs to be wet. I love to alternate between SR and shavette. Thanks for watching.

    I am the first to admit that my balls aren't big enough to try using such a frightening contraption. Even the bit of osteoarthritis I have in my hands limits my dexterity. I think I better stick to the DE kiddie pool, where I belong. But, I do admire your skill with these tools of mayhem. They are rather beautiful and ingenious tools.
    Maybe tomorrow I will finally break out the MWF and give it a try. I haven't shaved in a month due to a shingles outbreak on my face. I highly recommend 500mg a day of L-Lysine as a preventative, and high dosage (1 gram every 6 hours) if you have an outbreak to limit the spread and accelerate the recovery.

    Peut-être que j'ai mal compris à cause de mon niveau d'anglais, mais au cas où je ne suis pas trop mauvais, je te dis ce que je fais. Après le rasage, le savon difficile à rincer parfois ... maintenant j'utilise toujours de l'eau d'hamamélis (witch hazel water),( nature, bio, sans alccol, se conserve au frigo, pas cher) dans un spray après un rapide rinçage. La pierre d'alun pour moi c'est juste pour les coupures. L'eau d'hamamélis sur tout le visage fait du bien, je laisse agir un peu avant de m'essuyer le visage. Le résultat sur moi ressemble à la pierre d'alun mais ensuite la peau est plus douce, elle se répare mieux, le savon est parfaitement enlevé, même l'odeur du savon est partie... Plus tard j'utilise un after shave, juste pour l'odeur, pour le plaisir. Merci pour la vidéo.

    Lol you are a sadic!😁 You were full of big cuts! You have been so damn brutal! The angle was wrong! Nothing was correct! I have the same razor and I had no cut at all! What blad have you used? Lol if yuo were with a kai on a Parker you shoul have finished to hospital!🤔 Shavette is not a straight razor! Technique is completely different!!! Your face was a mask of blood!😁 I should open a channel about how not be sadic with shavette!
