I love that V-Strom so much I can’t wait until they change it! Really though, a few tweaks to make it a tad more sophisticated and it could be the best real-world option available.

Route NRide Well I have owned a few Big Sport touring ADV or what ever you want to call them and I have owned a versys . The Versys is just cramped for a tall rider, and is still a heavy bike... no where near a true dual sport. .. In my opinion all them are meant for fire roads and gravel roads at best... I know people ride them in true off road stuff but I can’t see how it could be fun. The big bore bikes are easier to ride... and have more room and comforts. Just my opinion.😀
i dont do fire roads or gravel roads etc...i do tarmac and a little off the beaten track if my GPS fucks up :) however for long distance touring in comfort on any tarmac roads the versys is spot on
Sadly, for decades this kind of motorcycle no longer participate in Dakar Rally. There was a biker won using Enduro modified bike from motox 450cc SE bike. So FIM change the regulation for motorcycle class specification. Only several cross country adventure rally still open for adventure Enduro bike.
if royal enfield was more reliable and had something like 35 horse power it would be the best to travel around the world.Plus it has the most adventurous look of all.Even with 24 hp i would buy it if the reliability would improve and the quality of some parts, even if the price would increase little
Finally Yamaha replaces that crappy flimsy plastic stock boxes to the solid aluminium boxes as stock! Also, whats up with Suzuki still putting in Halogen Lights into their 2019 V Strom?

I think versys is Sport Touring not ADV
lol of course the versys is an ADV bike .....its a dual purpose ADV depending on set up it will handle any gravel/dusty/light mud surface with ease
