      Yeah... this is really the most complicated part of this channel. Finding interesting PCs for a deep cleaning. That's especially the case for more recent ones. I guess it would be easier if I can have more people in the French Satisfactory community, but yeah... for the moment findings PCs is so time consuming 😬
      I will try other ways to find modern PCs, like asking people in my region on tech forums or something like that.

    16:42 looks like a capacitor fell off in the PSU. Maybe that's what's causing the aux power error? Also, you can probably wiggle the IDE cable off, no need to go medieval on it with the tools.

    • @french.satisfactory
      @french.satisfactory  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was just the plastic cover of one of them. But I was able to find some bulged capacitors in the PSU while cleaning it. So I'm thinking about try to change them or just buy another PSU. I have to think about this for the "repair and upgrade" video.

What about restoring and upgrading fresher models that are today still really usable? Afterwards you might donate them to schools or other institutions and achieve additional benefit.

      If clean these old computers it is mainly because of that I try to find PCs with enough dust so they are interesting to clean for the channel. As you can imagine, older computer are ofter dirtier. Added to that, it is way easier to find PCs like this, even if it take me lot of time to do so.

      But I found some bulged capacitors in the PSU and there is a "AUX_PWR" written close the turned on motherboard red led. So it is highly probable the issue come from this.
      The thing is, it's a particular PSU so I was not able to test with another one. So... I have to thing about replace these capacitors or try to find another PSU.

      Hey Manuel,
      Sorry for my late reply! I don't know If you saw it on the community tab, but I got sick the last days and take me a bit long to answer all the messages à received 😅
      I already had in mind a marketing sentence, but didn't really used it yet. The sentence is "Making dirty things satisfying". What do you think? I will probably use it more the next weeks in my Instagram and TH-cam post. But don't know yet exactly in what way.
      What do you mean by "your local stores"? I'm not a store owner. Added to that, I don't want to make too much communication effort on the French Market, because I'm afraid about that TH-cam stop to give to this channel less traffic from all over the world.
      But you are right about that I should make relationship with companies to find computers. I have now 2.8K subs which give me enough authority for that.

      Yeah, you are right. This video is in fact pretty old. I did improve the cleaning process. I clean the plastic parts with water and soap now, as you can see here in the last vid: th-cam.com/video/XF4IsaK16Co/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TGW151jqHjbU6SXo&t=1376

    I didn't see thermal paste?

    • @french.satisfactory
      @french.satisfactory  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mmmh? I added thermal paste on the CPU and on the chipset I removed the heatsink from. What timecode? Not sure we are talking about the same thing 😅

    • @JerryWoo96
      @JerryWoo96 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@french.satisfactory I saw the thermal paste on the chipset at 9:12, just not at 20:12 for the cpu.

      oh you are right!!! I just didn't add this sequence in the final video during the video editing ... 🤦‍♂️
      Well, I did put the thermal paste, I remember it, but yeah... you can't see it on the video... So you will have to trust me 😅
      I will stay my vigilance for the next video. Thanks Oeufcoque! ❤️

      I had a doubt about this also, but after checking it, it was just normal and the place for the front DELL logo. But don't hesitate to give me the time code to be sure we are talking about the same thing.
      Hope you enjoyed the video jeremie, and thank you for your comment ❤️
