It's perplexing how many people ignore the fact that Rod is the reason Seto Kaiba, the reincarnation of its former owner Priest Seto, won. Kaiba was suppose to lose as shown because he was obsessed with God.
Yup. That rod did all this, even Dark Marik was shocked the Millennium Rod was acting on its own. Kaiba did not do any of this, he just simply became overwhelmed by his ancestors emotions that caused this. It overruled the Millennium necklace Ishizu had because technically, the rod is more powerful than it. The necklace did not fail Ishizu, it just simply kowtowed to a far greater power than it.
@@Lightningstrike1220 Yami Marik is just some sorcerer holding a stolen item. Yami Marik doesn't know anything about the past of Egypt like Bakura or Kaiba. Yami Marik is just a test run. When he sacrificed his Obelisk for Blue -eyes that's when the Millennium Rod and Necklace started to react. It showed Kaiba his past as the priest against the Pharaoh.
It would be hilarious if Blue Eyes had a flash back of that scene as well and became part Kisara, thus deciding to greet Seto when summoned or if switched to defense curled around Seto to also protect him. 😂
Because the anime staff removed and altered significant scenes regarding Yami Yugi and Kaiba when Malik brought Bakura to Jonouchi and co. then introduced himself to them... In the manga, after Malik and Jonouchi finish their introduction, a Ghoul that just lost to Yami Yugi and Kaiba (The Ghoul is on his knees with cards falling out while YY and Kaiba are walking away in the distance) mind calls Malik and tells him "It's an emergency, Yugi and Kaiba have teamed up and they both have God cards... We can no longer stop them!" Then in the next chapter, Kaiba confirms that they have beaten a few Ghouls already. Then they face Mask of Light and Darkness when Kaiba summons Obelisk in the end. We know Yami Yugi didn't use Osiris until his duel with Yami Bakura. That means Kaiba was spamming God against Ghouls off-screen. We had only seen him summon God twice before vs Koji in the alley and against the 2 Ghouls in their 1st tag duel. While the anime did show Kaiba being obsessed with God, these 2 scenes from the manga (previous paragraph) really let you know what was happening with Kaiba's mindset before he even duels Mask of Light and Darkness. It culminated here against Ishizu, which was suppose to lead to his defeat, but he got saved by the Rod.

Apparently the trap card was a physical bomb inside of obelisk. Therefore, it doesn’t “target” obelisk. So when blue eyes White Dragon was sacrificed, the bomb that was in obelisk went in the graveyard. … idk man, their effects and immunities were all over the place 😂😂😂
@@jarg_64 Yeah, same logic applies there. The trap card (ground erosion I think) used at that time did not target obelisk either. It targeted the monster zone he was standing on.
@@sioncrush5336 Not exactly. The card in the anime is called Bomb Held by a Tribute/Sacrifice's Blast (subbed/dubbed names respectively). The card activates and a bomb is planted on a monster. If you don't give your god a proper tribute, you will suffer the consequences. @@Blade.5786 I think that's how reincarnation is said to work. The brain may not be the same, but the soul is the same as the past life. Blue eyes: you are going to summon me
Kaiba: but I have a god .

It's a paradise not a disaster
to be fair Kaiba is used to playing Yugi, the greatest top-decker of all time. taught Kaiba to smell a rat
What does "smell the rat" means
@spazchubbzthegamer1583 to expect the unexpected. When things were going _too easy_ for you, Yugi had a plan to turn the tables. We've seen Yugi melt Blue Eyes with a Kuriboh and the Silver Arrow card. Things were going too easy in that duel that, minus the vision, Kaiba sensed something was definitely off.
I love this scene, and it's even more powerful if you watched the Ancient Egypt saga. Cut from this was priest Seto's millenium item activating first, which together with the love for the Blue Eyes/Kisara led to the future-changing vision
Blue eyes : Summon me or you're sleeping on the couch tonight!
More like: “Please Summon me, Daddy!”
Blue Eyes pulled up like, "summon me daddy!"
To which kaiba said, "aight, bet! Fuck you obelisk!"
Moral of the story: Always listen to your card.
"The Heart of the Cards!"
I am sitting here with my card in hand since 7 months and it still didn't say a word. :/
that's why i summon my red dragon archfiend no matter what
Ishizu learned: Do not underestimate a Duelists bond with his cards.
Kaiba:I PREFER MY DRAGON WAIFU OVER A GOD!
Don't underestimate a batshit rich guy and a bond with a piece of cardboard he gaslit a guy into suicide to obtain one copy of.
I always thought Ishizu was the best looking of the female cast, and she was a pretty good duelist, despite being so "dependent" on the future she saw
Kaiba: Tribute Obelisk for his waifu blue eyes
Also Kaiba a few years later: Pull Obelisk out of fkin ground and Tribute his 3 blue eyes for Obelisk
Romantic aye
Nah the blue eyes understood they were weakened plus kaiba probably would’ve returned blue eyes Sotheby’s went like sacrifice us for the gods furry
It's perplexing how many people ignore the fact that Rod is the reason Seto Kaiba, the reincarnation of its former owner Priest Seto, won. Kaiba was suppose to lose as shown because he was obsessed with God.
The rod belongs to Priest Seto in other words it belongs to Kaiba.
@@MortalSoul13 Congrats on repeating what I said. Thats how reincarnation works.
@@MortalSoul13
Priest Seto's love for Kisara (Blue Eyes White Dragon) transcends even time itself.
Well Kaiba had flashbacks about his previous past so he probably does know but he rejects it. Kaiba has always been in denial about the Pharaoh history. Then again I would be to.
When he sacrificed his Obelisk for Blue -eyes that's when the Millennium Rod and Necklace started to react. It showed Kaiba his past as the priest against the Pharaoh.
"That's right, I'll sacrifice God" 🔥🔥✍️
Kisara's soul realize the trap and tries to tell Kaiba.

0:54 When you delete the Bible app in order to make room for Master Duel.
It would be hilarious if Blue Eyes had a flash back of that scene as well and became part Kisara, thus deciding to greet Seto when summoned or if switched to defense curled around Seto to also protect him. 😂
If only the story writers had material to show to see things far ahead of time before the respective memory's episode is made.
Don't forget the test run of the duel disk, where he used obelisk yo defeat all 3 blue eyes
@@patrickzalatoris3206 I didn't. The point of that duel was to test Obelisk out. That's not the same situation as I described.
I didn't know that. I prefer the anime version though.

I love this scene . Kaiba's voice actor is on another level
Seto calling the heart of the cards BS when he can listen to his blue eyes lol
I mean, i would sacrifice god level monsters to summon my Waifu silent Magician
Not a bad choice 😏
I could have a way to negate that summon, but I'd allow it out of respect
at this moment kaiba became addicted to blue eyes white dragon more than ever

Nah. ZeXal is the best.
@@x-mighty7602 I think you might be the only person who thinks that...but I respect it
@@x-mighty7602 Best is still the original season for me but I would say Zexal probably comes second and is very underated. Also more dark than you'd expect after the few first episodes.
kaiba : screw the rule, i sacrifice the god in my battle phase
Bro really entered the battle phase and said " no wait I take that back"
It was a sin to show this without the “HOROBI-NO BASUTO SUTORIIMU!!!”
if you read the anime effect on text. the god cards are unnaffected by spells and traps that make it leave the field, so the only way ishizu's trap would work is if it did the damage first and obelisk blowing up is only from kaiba's life turning to zero.
This version shows compassion and dignity even more greater then the English version
Kaiba is so cool, that despite having a prescribed destiny, he can change it however he pleases as president of the world
He alone pushed computer technology, invented holographic displays, build a space station and created a machiene to bring back the death - just to play a children's card game ;)

The first few episodes are rough, but the creator was learning fast.
Kaiba clearly has Targaryen blood.
Dude had to prolong way too long even if the outcome was the same anyway, oh well gotta get your fav card to last hit I guess
A not often discussed fact is that Kaiba defied fate so hard it actually broke the Millennium Necklace.
The real savior here is Yami Marik. If he hadn't shown up, the Millenium Rod he was carrying wouldn't have triggered and kicked off this entire clip!
Seto didn’t just break the space time continuum to duel the Pharoh in his time
But also to summon his Blue-Eyes White Dragon wife for real life
Ishizu looked like she has a heart attack by seeing Kaiba sacrificing a GOD for a not god Dragon 😂
People give Kaiba so much crap for loving Blue Eyes like every main Yugioh protagonist DOESN’T devote their entire heart to a piece of cardboard. At least Kaiba's cardboard won Worlds and has the highest attack of any Normal monster the game.
Yeah. Like Yugi loves Dark Magician, who is just objectively a worse card in every way. And it's not really Kaibas fault that he was in the first show where all the crazy summon mechanicsand power creep just hadn't been made yet.
so this may be a dumb question but if someone can answer me this I would appreciate it.
so the Girls plan was to use a trap to destroy Obelisk and win her the game. Aren't the god cards immune to spell and trap cards against them? and if not wouldn't the same trap have worked on Blue-Eyes?
Apparently the trap card was a physical bomb inside of obelisk. Therefore, it doesn’t “target” obelisk. So when blue eyes White Dragon was sacrificed, the bomb that was in obelisk went in the graveyard. … idk man, their effects and immunities were all over the place 😂😂😂
@@sioncrush5336 I guess that works if in the final battle yugi can aim for the floor of Obelisk and affect him. So yea I’ll take that explanation
@@jarg_64 Yeah, same logic applies there. The trap card (ground erosion I think) used at that time did not target obelisk either. It targeted the monster zone he was standing on.
@@sioncrush5336 You cant aim at them but the ground they are standing on. for example :,D
@@sioncrush5336 Not exactly. The card in the anime is called Bomb Held by a Tribute/Sacrifice's Blast (subbed/dubbed names respectively). The card activates and a bomb is planted on a monster. The monster that attacks using the monster that was planted with the bomb dies. Obelisk is immune to traps, but the trap never targeted Obelisk, it targeted one of the tributes. If you don't give your god a proper tribute, you will suffer the consequences. In this case, the god will self destruct on you for failing to give it a proper tribute, which makes sense both in game rules as its immune to trap cards as long as it doesn't target the god itself, and makes sense thematically because disrespecting a god has never gone well for anyone.
Fiance saved his ass though haha
