You can keep the metallic luster through the more matte of the inks by adding either: Vallejo Gloss Varnish 70.510 or Vallejo Metal Varnish 26.657 to your game colour inks as a thinner, in addition to the water or flow aid. If you are finding the inks hard to control this can also give them a better grip to the surface. If your inks or metallics are not laying down properly and forming little puddles you can't control, add some Vallejo airbrush thinner (yep works with a brush as well) to act as a surfactant and break the paints surface tension.
You know that u are good at painting if u doing the face before the helmet.
in the first step I would have gotten yellow ink shade on the face

Fantastic tutorial and outstanding paint job. I recently colected all of the metal colors from AV and waiting on game color inks. Love vallejo paints. Their coverage properties are incredible (with a minor exeptions as i had some problems with yellow). Great tutorial, surely gonna use it.

Metal Colour never brushes in like that for me.
Any description on how much you thin your paints. As some already said, somehow I get a different finish by brushing on my Vallejo Metal paints. And how much water to the inks?

This paint works very well and its color is fantastic. The only downside is you can't dry brush it.
It's not the same product, but you can try our metallic Model Color references for dry brushing :)
is there a difference between the val 77725 and this one?
Would this work on smooth plastics? Want to try this on a full-size plastic gun and thought this would be a nice change to dry brushing metallics onto matte black
Yes, this works on plastic, but do not forget to prime first of all. Without primer the paints won't stay. You can use our Aerosol Primer for large surfaces: acrylicosvallejo.com/en/producto/uncategorized/white-primer-28010/. Regards!

Well, I agree with you - the metallic paint is great, but way too many color washes. The final result looks like heavily hammered iron, without much of the color showing through.
