I have spent so many years thinking that painting up from darkest is the right way..Sketch style looks considerably more efficient. I will really have to "paint bravely" to try this style, making big commitment dropping contrast like that 🤔👍
I have read your old PDF tutorial so many times.. but seeing you do it on video is so much better. Thank you for doing this. You are one of the best in the world!!
Very informative tutorial, albeit it'd be nice to see a side-by-side comparison in the video of the pre-sketched head and after adding highlights and shadows.
THANK YOU, Jaume, for this EXTREMELY VALUABLE tutorial video. One question for you if I may? Are your highlights and shadows palettes applicable to figures of all scales or are the mixes you used specific to a 75mm figure?I am most anxious to see you again on Part 2!
Learned something again! Thank you very much! Two questions! What kind of brush is that? And do I have to dilute the colors with water before painting?
I'm about to try painting my first bust... and have a really stupid question - how do you thin acrylic paints and apply them without the thinner 'melting' the existing layer of acrylics underneath?? I'm a bit lost on that...
Hello Gary! When creating a paint mixture, the amount of water used is based on personal preference. It is recommended to add a few drops of water to the paint to create a thinned color, rather than painting with the pure product. Thinned product will achieve better results.

Hi there! Brush is a kolinsky sable Windsor & Newton size 0, the best IMHO. I always dilute a bit the paint just to get the right consistency.
@@jaumeortiz4767 Thank you
Excellent! Thx! My God! ^_^
Great video, do you ever use a wet pallet?

What size brush do you use and how do you keep the paint from drying in between coats? Nice job, thanks!
Why don't you use a wet palette?
How much water is added to each color mix? Or is the paint mixed full strength?

Why are you wearing gloves?
Elon Musks grand dad?
What a badly sculpted figurine. He must have used a blunt chisel.
Thank you
