Kenny Wayne performed at G3 with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani bout when this song came out The show was beyond amazing watching dueling guitars under the stars in San Diego
Yeah the lyrics in the chorus are hard to pick up and process, but they are all things that the first thing doesn't really affect the outcome on the second. Blue ink on black paper. Tears on a river. Cold on ice. Match on a fire. And most importantly whisper on a scream when you are trying to apologize for your bad deeds to someone. It's a deeper song when you get past the catchy chorus.
The original is great. It was remade and introduced to metal fans by Five Finger Death Punch with a little more edge. Kenny and Brian May (queen) both get their guitar skills included in that version.
Maya…. Did you have a psychedelic experience to get the grey streak in your hair? Because I did! In 2003 I took a few hits of “lsd” and it took me to a different place. The day after my hair started to grow out grey or white in the front left lobe. I only know because I had long hair and shaved it after my experience. When it grew back it was grey / silver
This song introduced me to this phenomenal guitar God has become a favorite song of mine and saw him in concert last year. What a talent , I rank him up there with the guitar greats 🎸🎵🤘
I was born in the mid 60's and my taste for modern rock ended in the 90's THEN this song came along and destroyed all of that. It's nice to hear a song released here in the 2000's that is rock where all the people recording actually play real instruments and the singers voice isn't put thru auto tune. OUTSTANDING song. ✌Peace✌
The original audio is the full version. They cut out part of the song for the music video. Kenny is married to Hannah Gibson, Mel Gibson's daughter! If you want to hear a newer Kenny Wayne Shepherd song, 'Woman Like You' is so good.
I was lucky enought to actually see them in concert, amazing! Try checking out Five Finger Death punch's cover of this song featuring Kenny himself and Brian May, great!!
Kenny and another good blues singer/guitarist, I suggest you check out if you haven't, Jonny Lang (who had some big hits at 16) were out around this same time. Both careers took slightly different paths.
Good choice, Regina! About time we got some KWS on here! Didn’t know you are a lover of blues rock like myself. My favorite genre Perhaps we can get an album of his on a poll!
Noah's voice is perfect for this style. Side note: Am I the only one that watches reactions and thinks, "I wonder if they realize how much better the sound quality would be IF the beanie wasn't muffling the sound"? I'm not hacking on anyone..you do you.
That's Noah Hunt singing. He does most of the vocals on the old stuff... Kenny Wayne is starting to pick up some of the vocals on their newer material. Have seen these guys a bunch of times; always a great time! His band has Kevin McCormick on bass, Joe Krown on keys, and Chris (Whipper) Layton on drums (from Stevie Ray Vaughan's band). Most recently saw Kenny Wayne Shepherd as part of the Experience Hendrix tour.
@@helenespaulding7562 Don't know about that... here's his bio from the Web. "Kevin McCormick has served as a producer, co-writer and bass player for Melissa Etheridge as she emerged as a world class artist with her self-titled 1988 debut, along with such acclaimed albums as Brave and Crazy (1989), Never Enough (1992) and her massively successful Yes I Am (1993). Kevin’s resume only grew from there as he started producing, writing and performing with an impressive list of artists such as Nils Lofgren, Jackson Browne, Robben Ford, John Mayall, Keb’ Mo, Crosby Stills & Nash, and The Rides, featuring Stephen Stills, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Barry Goldberg - to cite a very select few."
@@jlocke78759 good pedigree. Obviously not a founder of Yes though. Too young.dont know several of the artists cited. I’m always brought up short by the number of artists I don’t know, at least by name, who are NOT rappers or hip hop or country. Those genres I don’t even make an attempt at ( except Ren of course) Keb Mo? Nils Lofgren?
Oh, I forgot. Last time we saw the band (with Samantha Fish opening!) they had added Doug Woolverton on trumpet and Charlie Dipuma on saxophone to the band. Really fills out the sound.
If you want to hear something more recent from KWS check out their song “Dirt on my Diamonds” 🔥🎤🎶🎸 He is a premier guitarist! He was very young in this video but so talented!! They put on an amazing live show too 🥰
LOVE THIS SONG. Love Kenny Wayne Shepherd! Five Finger Death Punch does a cover of this that is amazing! It’s kinda like the difference between Led Zeppelin’s No Quarter and the cover by Tool. It’s harder, but in a REALLY great way. If any of you here like hard rock, check it out.
A Shreveport boy! We love when he comes home to do a concert! Kenny Wayne is a natural talent, Still fantastic!
Let's keep in mind ... He was 17 when he recorded this song. 17!!!!! He's amazing.
This song is pure 🔥enough said.

His album “Trouble is”, is an absolute gem. This song is on it. So many good songs on that album.

this is money
Thanks Regina for a song that was new to me! I really liked the beat of it, made me dance in my chair. And thanks to Sal for a fun reaction!

I have lots of new music! Lmao
@@johncarpenter3751 I've had those experiences too 😁 but the hair just started growing that way, much later. Not related afaik
Pretty great album too
@@johncarpenter3751that’s very strange.
Such a good song. 🔥
Kenny is the shredder. And was just a teen!
Classic hit! HNY SalvoG! 🥳
This song kicks ass!! Love it!

One of my faves.
Love this one!
If you want to hear Kenny shred it, Listen to the live 12 minute version of "You Done Lost Your Good Thing Now".
The original audio is the full version. They cut out part of the song for the music video. Kenny is married to Hannah Gibson, Mel Gibson's daughter! If you want to hear a newer Kenny Wayne Shepherd song, 'Woman Like You' is so good.
@Sarah I second that.
This was a nice one. Great voice.
His version of Everything Is Broken is fire.
the black and white old movie version
I was lucky enought to actually see them in concert, amazing! Try checking out Five Finger Death punch's cover of this song featuring Kenny himself and Brian May, great!!
Excellent suggestion!

That must have been WILD. I wanted to go but no one wanted to go with me. Not into Hendrix 😱. Concerts aren’t as fun solo.
Kevin McCormick from Yes????

Definitely recommend Deja Voodoo and Born With A Broken Heart from his first album as well.

Now give Jonny Lang - Lie To Me a try. He was another young blues artist out around the same time as KWS.
It's Noah Hunt singing. Kenny sings sometimes but he like Noah's sound. Thanks for the reaction.
Noah’s voice perfect for this song. Deeper
You should react to how will I know (glee version) !!

That's how they sound live so if you get the chance go
Listen to the Ledbetter Heights album!
So now you need to check out Johnny Lang, he released an album at 17 that rivals this song but is more complete imo
Kenny was considered the next coming of SRV. I would put him with Santana who prefers to not sing.
"Brainstorm On The U.D.S." |

"Last Goodbye" is a great song by KWSB
Gotta check out Five Finger Death Punch featuring Queen's Brian May performing same song.❤
Gotta wonder when you're finally going to check out Derek Trucks and/or the Tedeschi Trucks band. If you like this, they'll blow you away!
Sara Fleetwood Mac!
Checkout Five Finger Death Punch featuring Kenny do this song! Amazing

Kenny is the blonde so not sure why the other guy is singing.
Because Kenny’s not the vocalist?
Literally the dumbest comment i have ever read.
Kennywin shepherd is not unlike Ted.Nugent had Derek Saint Holmes as his lead singer but like kenny wayne ted nugent can schredd.
A song about futility…
