The break-even ratio for energy/speed upgrades is 2:1. So 8 energy + 4 speed will speed up a machine while maintaining the baseline energy draw.
Speed upgrades are effectively always less efficient than building whole new machines, but on the other hand more machines more management.
Cables vs conduits gets complicated. Cables transmit power through each piece of cable along the line to the destination, and while they can have a very high transfer rate it's limited to the lowest tier cable in the whole line. Conduits have a low transfer limit but it's per connector, and energy gets teleported from the input connector to the receiving connector.

Understood, and later in, I might want to just have more machines, after they get their Tier Upgrades that is.
Okay, I am a little confused on the conduits still sadly. So, Cables are better for my set up then? or are they just better or higher rates of power and I am not that high on the power output?

@@fadepanther6224 Cables have higher peak transfer rate for any single length of cable, especially the upgraded versions. Plus they store some energy which conduits don't.
Conduits on the other hand have an unlimited transfer rate within the conduits themselves, but the connectors that branch off and attach to things have a limit of sending or receiving 500 FE/t each. So conduits are fine as long as you aren't trying to force more than 500 through a single connector, which you might be doing with the one inserting into the back of the energy cube.
It is possible to attach more than one connector to a single block by running the conduit around to more sides of it. EnderIO's energy storage blocks (capacitor banks) can be built together into a multi-block structure for this very reason, so that it has more surface area to attach conduit connectors.
Also you can disconnect conduits from each other with the yeta wrench if you don't want adjacent ones connecting.

@xenonkay Oh! Okay. Now I get it.
I am going to have to re adjust my heat gen layout a tad, as the ones close to the battery are not fully heated, also, I'm not sure why the heat gens above the lower layer of heat gens are not cooking at full steam... Maybe they don't see the lower one's shadow lava? Either way, using the higher tier cables there might be a better choice given how much power I want to push into that battery.
I... sort of what to look into making a multi-block capacitor bank now. XD
I keep fearing I'll lose that wrench, but I should start moving things over into my machine room anyways.

I've found the heat gens are a little iffy on flowing lava and they don't like to share heat when they're directly touching each other.

You totally jumped on the bed as a kid didn't you Fade? 🤣😜
Im curious if you can just put the fluid tank itself next to the heat gennys to run them....?
    NO! BAD MERCHANT! /Newspaper 🗞️
Should try and get away from the idea that the cobble gen has to be on the bottom and the output needs to be at the top.... Especially since your drawer controller is on the bottom.
Time to make a water and witch water tank! 😀

Oh 100%. It makes me giggle seeing how I can jump on the beds, and even those rare moments where jumping on it while getting to bed can make you slide off. XD
OH! That's a solid thing to test. A fluid take with lava next to a heat gen to see if that will give it some heat. Even if it isn't a lot of heat it is safer.

@fadepanther6224 I mean... 32 buckets of lava IID THINK it's hotter!

Forgot to try and say your name in the next episode, but let me address a few things.
Yes, DUMB MERCHANT! Pushing his way into my biz.
So, the cobble gen only outputs on its top... Right?
The water tank isn't needed with the sink, and witch water isn't useful unless it is in a barrel... however, you do bring something to mind to fix an automation issue I started thinking about at the end of the next episode. I will take a break to let everyone catch up though as the 2 hour long episodes are fun for me but taxing on you all.
(edit) By "next episode" I mean episode 13...
