- Today Gift and I head to the hospital to see Gift's mom who just recently was diagnosed with a heart blood clot and other heart conditions. Before going to the hospital, we visit Oui, Gift's brother in law who suffered a stroke last year at the age of 45. later that day, Gift and I have dinner at a new mall in the heart of Bangkok. In our opinion, its more like upscaled restaurants than it is a mall. We also talk about Bangkok's best public transportations and provide more info in the links below for anyone visiting Bangkok for the first time.

When a family member has health issues, it reminds us how important our health is in the grand scheme of things. It doesn't matter how much money you have or how big your pension is. Good health is everything for a long and happy retirement. 💯 🙏
Never underestimate the value of just walking.. walking around the city , the best way to get around and learn the backroads if you have time.
Exactly as you have the time if you are staying for a few months and found great shops while working off the Thai food.
Mom has got good colour, that's a good sign. Sending positive thoughts to Mom & Oui 🙏👍

I enjoy Bangkok but understand its not for everyone. The BTS and Metro so convenient and easy, key is to try and avoid peak hours. Glad Gift's mom is doing better

Hi Gift and Joe, I love the hotel that you stay in. It's amazing how Aui has progressed, praise God. I expect that his recovery seems very slow to him, but he has made such a great improvement and will I hope and pray continue to do so. Gift's mother still has a long way to go, but at least the blood clot has been dissolved which is a blessing. Gift will obviously find out more tomorrow. Love the new Shopping centre and that Italian food looked wonderful. You and the whole family are in my thoughts and prayers as always. God bless😊❤🙏

Great the doctors have your Mum stabilised Gift. We all hope they can help develop a strong recovery plan for her. Fingers crossed for the meeting with the doctors tomorrow. As for Bangkok, for me, no way Jose! To comfortable in rural life in Sisaket. My SIL has a persistent health issue, tried the local hospitals and the private ones with limited success. Tonight we revert to DaiYai (animism) beliefs and all the elderly people have gathered to ask her dead mother's spirit to intercede.

The brother-in-law is making progress, and hopefully, the edema will eventually subside as im sure it's a condition brought on by his treatment. Anyway, slow progress is a hell of a lot better than no progress 😉. Best wishes to all for a speedy and healthy recovery 🙏🙏. The new mall looks cool and gotta check it out someday. Ta's working on her citizenship and our plans to visit Thailand are in the works for April, so hopefully, we'll finally hook up ! See ya then SAWADEE KRUP !
Please keep an eye on mom’s INR if she’s on blood thinners like warfarin. Mine wasn’t good and following the clot in the leg, the one in my brain made me permanently handicapped but it also made me move to Thailand. I don’t know if it’s available here, but I can check my blood thickness in my condo myself. Brought the tester from Switzerland

Joe and Gift, your Mom's recovery in my prayers, and fortunately Oui's own recovery seems to be progressing better from his unfortunate stroke he suffered. That mall was far busier than the prior visits or times you've been and shown so that's a good sign, too, and that the economy is getting better and stronger than it's been, a good thing for all of the people there after the past few years. Stay Healthy, Happy and Safe, my dear friends.

Actually, I don’t think that is the case at all. We’ve seen taxis turn down business from many Thais as well.

You lost me @2000bht !, for "fancy food"...wines a big nono in thailand, waaaay to expensive, you should have opted for the heineken,... Try "Monsoon" restaurant on soi 6 great food and fair prices,. .Gifts mums hospital looked ok, but like most/all thai hospitals they seem to depend on a family member or friend to accompany the patient, New mall in bkk, just what bkk needs, NOT ! cheers,.
There are many options when it comes to eating out in Bangkok, where we had dinner was just a matter of preference. We also show food on our channel as cheap as a couple dollars per person. You are correct when it comes to the government hospitals depending on getting the family members help.
