I recommend to watch live stream on Switchback VR from PSVR2 Without Parole. Bryan Paul reviewed 7/10 and in the stream together with Wes Dillon explain lot of things, both positive and negative. In the end it's like they say, do you want more Rush of Blood, go for Switchback. Now the devs have the ball, so let's see if they care about us or not. I wish the the upgrade of Rush of Blood on PS VR2 in the future. It'd be worthy bundle together.
Man some of you are being hyper critical for no reason. Ive watched almost all of beardos videos and im gonna go ahead and say he wasnt acting for the camera, just my opinion since some of you stated yours, he was listing off his reasons for why he loves the game and they sounded legitimate. Now i dont own a psvr2 (yet hes doing a good job on selling it to me with the resi videos though, give me more beardy lol) but i do play vr via an oculus 2 and my pc, and ill say ive never been a fan of roller coaster or on tracks shooters but my mans did his job he made it look like fun and id probably give this game a go. Switchback is fun, especially watching someone new to vr playing in front of you but the game needs a graphical boost. Fun factor-8/10 Graphics-5/10 The surgeons with needles always make me tense up
Hopefully the patch Supermassive are dropping will bring the graphics upto a higher level of quality because I agree with you totally, the gameplay itself is a lot of fun
I've heard quite alot of negativity about this one. I had a go for about 40 mins last night and for me uo to that point it was a fun experience. The graphics where not quite res 8 but the environments where pretty cool with the themes. If you put it in perspective of going to watch a movie in the cinema its pretty good value. One criticism I did agree with is it would if been nice to have more punch and damage represe tation when shooting moster etc as it falls a little flat in that area. The best way I could describe the feeling is very much like as you would feel going into a fair ride with a little more depth. Some things hit the mark a d some things fall slightly short. A cool experience for what it is. Hope this helps anyone make a decision on a purchase. I would finally add there seems to be a few haters out there commenting on the vr2 as an experience that probably hasn't purchased it yet. Its one of the few occasion in tech I've been blown away by the jump, yes it has its limitations but no means a novelty that you may play every now and then which I was expecting. So early in it ls availability and there are some cool titles on it and from my perception I see the vr2 as a staple part of my gaming now and I sincerely expected to be underwhelmed by my purchase but I rolled the dice and as I have enjoyed what I have so far would love to see it get greater support to enhance my future experiences.
So far? 40 minutes isn't much time to get a good view of the games pros and cons, I thought it was okay until about level 3 or 4 and now I don't really want to play it again.

I played this for around 2 hours now, and while the gameplay as such is fun, the visuals are ... not good at all. In my humble opinion, this sadly "looks" like a lackluster *PSVR1* port... Which doesn't necessarily mean that the game is bad. But I, personally, expected a better effort...
Seems to be a lot of people's opinion, personally I haven't seen anything wrong with the visual at all 😅 the only bit that looks bad is the cutscenes on the train, they're weirdly blurry and washed out, can't figure out why that is. Fundamentally it's almost identical to Rush of Blood (which I loved) so I knew what I was getting into gameplay wise and it succeeds as a solid follow up for me personally.

My point is that there is hardly any progress "artistically" and above all technically from Rush of Blood to Switchback. And if we want VR to make a "giant leap" into the future (something I'm waiting for since 2016 or so), this progress has to be made *now*, imho. Look... PCVR is almost dead. Meta ist struggeling heavily. No other brands/manufacturers really play a dominant role in the market. It's my personal belief that Sony/PSVR2 is *maybe* the last chance (?) to make a difference in the VR market and in terms of "public acceptance" for a larger audience - not just for "nerds like us" ;-) ... Which is the only way to get "bigger", "better", "more sophisticated" VR games.
Just finished the game and I think the recent patch must improved the graphics. Sure it doesn't look as good as Resi 8, it's still not the sharpest image. But I think it's not as blurry anymore as it was on the release day. It's a fun ride now. Not as terrifying as Rush of Blood was, but nevertheless entertaining.
Love to see someone else have a positive opinion about Switchback, been loving it myself as well. People who've claimed we're paid by Supermassive absolutely baffle me.

yeah im started to get pissed at youtubers blatantly lying or leaving things out with psvr2. EVERY early playtest they all went nuts how great the game was. NOW, most are saying the opposite. Beardo, not really sure what he thinks.

I’m trying to accept it for what it is but all these TH-camrs and Sony, blatantly lied to us and showing the pass through image and pretending it was the actual game image quality, was an absolute piss take. All Sony had to do was either show us the bloody actual psvr2 footage or show the polished pass though image but have a big disclaimer, saying “this is pass though image through tv, the image in psvr2 headset, will look much worse. Oh that’s right, but then nobody will buy it. So they just stuck with the lie.

I think Beardo's reviews are honest and it proved e.g. his review of Horizon Call of the mountain, when he upped the grade from approx. 6/10 to 7.5/10 and not higher. I like Horizon VR very much and just hope more games like that will come in the future and even better. Concerning Switchback the $40 price tag is quite high for me and Horizon is expensive as well. Nevertheless it is a game to have fun with friends and I think it'll be ok with some future patches. Let's see, it comes tomorrow and I promised my brother it is ready to play for his Friday visit, so I am risking it. If it's bad, I will be more careful with upcoming games. I am looking forward to RE4 remake VR. I honestly would appreciate more if they'd make 1st person view in RE4 remake like Village or Biohazard. In the past I didn't like the 1st person mode, but now I don't like much 3rd person view anymore.

Bought, regret. The resolution is too low in this game unlike the GT7 or horizon, I'll say the resolution for this game is just slightly higher than it's first one on PSVR. Plus the price is way too high for a game like this,
Ah thats a shame, it really doesn't look bad at all to me, the only bits that I would say look bad are the cutscenes on the train, they're super low res and blurry and I'm not sure why. Outside of that it looks decent, but I'm not one to worry too much about graphics being the highest fidelity, I just want it to be fun ya know 😊

Does the PS5 plus PSVR2 require a monitor? Or can the VRr2's headset be the monitor? My aim is to have a chair in the corner of a room, with the PS5 tucked away behind it and the headset waiting for me. No monitor, no big speakers. Just a little corner of VR paradise waiting for me to get home from work. Can it be done? Also is there any news on Elite Dangerous coming to PSVR2? This would heavily influence my purchasing decision.

I don't think my significant "other" would appreciate me hogging the TV and prancing around in front of it with a headset on!🤣 Am trying to work a little space just for me. I looked into a PC + headset and the PS5+PSVR2 still works out cheaper.
Imo it's games like these that do nothing to help popularise vr gaming, it's an on rails shooter, if it wasn't vr it would be laughed at as a simple mobile phone game, why does it get a break because its vr?? Vr needs full games imo not shallow linear mini games.

@@Metalguy86 bro I'm not like that at all. The thing is, after years of tech upgrades, quest 2, upcoming quest 3, VR now being a viable $ maker, I was just beyond excited for psvr2. I actually love it. But you cannont deny, that like EVERY vr headset there seems to be a ton of good things, than a few that make you scratch your head. I just expected a bit more to be honest. The youtbers didn't help matters either with the obviously slanted reviews. Than as soon as the headset is actually out, all of a sudden there saying otherwise. Its just all of that put a sour taste in my mouth. I think its fairly obvious sony pushed this out the door earlier than they wanted to. They wanted to beat the other devs which was smart! So when Switchback was announced (ROB was my fav psvr1 game) I was SO pumped. All I wanted was something like that, just better. It seemed like sony was propping this as a system seller. Once again another bit of exaggeration. Im sure I will still enjoy it! But that kinda sums up the psvr2 for me so far. Im liking it, just kind of feel a bit like thats it?
@@Metalguy86 Like its honestly wild to think that the ONLY actual psvr 2 game is horizon which is mostly climbing! Its the ONLY game at launch that was made specific for psvr 2. No port,remake or upgrade. I just kind of wonder what happened there? Now what makes a ton of sense is what I said before. Sony initially wanted to launch later. Moved the release up to beat meta but the devs making the games were NOT ready. Hence even switchback getting delayed. I bet $$ we get a patch for switchback within the next 6 months that DRASTICALLY improves the game.
Unfortunately resolution is very bad even worse than psvr 1 , yes psvr 1 rush of blood had better visuals , i bought the game yesterday but i couldn't play more than one ride cause of the low RES and frame skip sometimes and very bad blurriness , game it's self is very good and have amazing designs but until update patch , i won't touch this game and i don't recommend it, especially for this price
I've had no glitches, frame skips or bugs thus far, played through 6 of the 10 levels and have had a blast with each of them. The visual quality on the cutscenes in the train is definitely blurry/low res (it's really strange, not sure why they look this way) but the rest of the game looks great, I'm really not seeing the low res issue others are calling out 🤷♂️
Everything is blurry past arms length...it truly looks like a psvr1 game, which costs £32 to play it on PSVR2...I've experienced 2 crashes and at least once per stage annoying frame drops
Just so you know. This is not the image you’ll see, when playing. This is the crisp, smooth polished pass through mode, coming through the tv. The actual image in psvr2 headset is much much worse quality. Like 420p
I have just played first level and I am thrilled. Worth every penny. The graphics and resolution is way lower than Horizon or RE8. In some cinematic scenes it is kinda blurry, I don't know if by intention. But and there is a BUT, the game is fewaking awesome. Smooth like heck, the eye tracking works incredibly accurate. I tried it at several places with the small skulls. You just look at it and any target is yours. In the fast games like this the classic aim would be pointless anyway😀 I am happy I went for it. Hope the other levels are as funny as the first one. Funny, I mean spooky, scary and bloody funny. When I was on a rollercoaster, it was real. I wish I had the moving armchair like in the cinema😆

Agreed - I loved the original, preordered this one and I'm looking forward to playing it despite many of the negative reviews that bring up a lot of great point/issues.. But some reviews like this (and mentioning the fact of being invited to the studio to try it out earlier), along with the clearly over-acting, really hurt credibility in reviews for the sake of staying on good terms with a publishers PR list.

Real reactions will have a greater impact over this feigned nonsense that I've been seeing lately. There are many games that provoke genuine jump scare moments, and these reactions don't resemble any of them.
Sorry, but this game isn't even decent, let alone awesome. Horrible visuals. Bland, repetitive gameplay. Reloading doesnt work half the time. And all the other regular gamers who played it feel this way. I hope you're being honest with your opinions, and not just promoting. Without credibility, people won't trust your reviews and will lose interest in your channel. A lot of gamers don't have a lot of money. They will feel burned after buying this game because of this video.
I really like this game, not "all" regular gamers feel this way but a vocal majority online definitely do and that's fine, it sucks you dont enjoy it but that doesnt mean "no one can". You have to remember I'm just a guy playing games online, I don't get paid to do this, I work a full time job and make videos in my spare time. I just share the shit I enjoy. The thing I'm struggling with is why people loved the first and hate this one, I went back and played Rush of Blood today, they're basically identical premise & gameplay wise. @blastofo I am enjoying the game very much despite of lower res. Honestly, it's not that bad with the graphics and maybe the devs will fix some fidelity issues with upcoming patches. Even the pricetag is not high for this type of the game, however i'd welcome bundle together with upgraded RoB. I played the first level only and was thrilled. I played RoB 6 years ago and now I am enjoying the similar experience. Some reviewers complained that the game is not scary anymore. I think RoB had an advantage on this, because it was first. Switchback has a tough job now. But gameplaywise it is brilliant and superfun. I enjoy the game more like the ride through the scary castle in funfair and it works incredibly, at least for me. I am not complicated person, just want to have fun in my free time and this game gives me exactly this. Devs will care about us, you'll see. They have to🙂 And Beardo is cool and authentic.

The variety of bosses and boss mechanics, the variety of enemies and events that make you go "wow"? The lack of puzzles slowing you down in Rush of Blood? The lack of actual rollercoastery bits in switchback? I don't even think that's even an opinion, each game clearly have taken a different approach and are not the same. Everyone in my circle is saying the same things, it's just not as scary or thrilling as Rush of Blood. I must be just as confused as you because I don't see why people are having such polar opposite experiences.

I had a fucking paid gig to show a game two weeks ago, I played it, recorded it, used my evening to make a video and I didn't like the game. The devs wanted me to post a fun video without highlighting the bad stuff. I refused and told them I'd like to drop out of the paid promo. Please man, I'm fucking tired, you don't see what goes on behind the scenes. I post the stuff I've enjoyed, it's as simple as that, hundreds of hours of footage have been deleted since I started the channel of games I didn't enjoy, I'm not interested in editing and prepping negative videos and that's my choice.

Seems to be a lot of people's opinion, personally I haven't seen anything wrong with the visual at all 😅 the only bit that looks bad is the cutscenes on the train, they're weirdly blurry and washed out, can't figure out why that is. Fundamentally it's almost identical to Rush of Blood (which I loved) so I knew what I was getting into gameplay wise and it succeeds as a solid follow up for me personally.
@@BeardoBenjo I absolutely agree that the gameplay is exactly what I expected. And I really liked Rush of Blood, don't get me wrong! My point is that there is hardly any progress "artistically" and above all technically from Rush of Blood to Switchback. And if we want VR to make a "giant leap" into the future (something I'm waiting for since 2016 or so), this progress has to be made *now*, imho.
Look... PCVR is almost dead. Meta ist struggeling heavily. No other brands/manufacturers really play a dominant role in the market. It's my personal belief that Sony/PSVR2 is *maybe* the last chance (?) to make a difference in the VR market and in terms of "public acceptance" for a larger audience - not just for "nerds like us" ;-) ... Which is the only way to get "bigger", "better", "more sophisticated" VR games.

Just finished the game and I think the recent patch must improved the graphics. Sure it doesn't look as good as Resi 8, it's still not the sharpest image. But I think it's not as blurry anymore as it was on the release day. It's a fun ride now. Not as terrifying as Rush of Blood was, but nevertheless entertaining.
Love to see someone else have a positive opinion about Switchback, been loving it myself as well. People who've claimed we're paid by Supermassive absolutely baffle me.

yeah im started to get pissed at youtubers blatantly lying or leaving things out with psvr2. EVERY early playtest they all went nuts how great the game was. NOW, most are saying the opposite. Beardo, not really sure what he thinks.

I’m trying to accept it for what it is but all these TH-camrs and Sony, blatantly lied to us and showing the pass through image and pretending it was the actual game image quality, was an absolute piss take. All Sony had to do was either show us the bloody actual psvr2 footage or show the polished pass though image but have a big disclaimer, saying “this is pass though image through tv, the image in psvr2 headset, will look much worse. Oh that’s right, but then nobody will buy it. So they just stuck with the lie.

Would be nice if the youtubers who played it early actually were honest and said the issues with the game like graphics not looking up to standard and what we expected it to be. It's abit sad that youtubers will just lie about a game because they got to test it out early. I'm sure u won't agree with me on this and I may get some bad feedback from other ppl for leaving this comment on your channel but come on mate u played 3 levels of it before it came out I highly doubt u thought wow this game looks incredible. I think Beardo's reviews are honest and it proved e.g. his review of Horizon Call of the mountain, when he upped the grade from approx. 6/10 to 7.5/10 and not higher. I like Horizon VR very much and just hope more games like that will come in the future and even better. Concerning Switchback the $40 price tag is quite high for me and Horizon is expensive as well. Nevertheless it is a game to have fun with friends and I think it'll be ok with some future patches. Let's see, it comes tomorrow and I promised my brother it is ready to play for his Friday visit, so I am risking it. If it's bad, I will be more careful with upcoming games. I am looking forward to RE4 remake VR. I honestly would appreciate more if they'd make 1st person view in RE4 remake like Village or Biohazard. In the past I didn't like the 1st person mode, but now I don't like much 3rd person view anymore.

Bought, regret. The resolution is too low in this game unlike the GT7 or horizon, I'll say the resolution for this game is just slightly higher than it's first one on PSVR. Plus the price is way too high for a game like this,
Ah thats a shame, it really doesn't look bad at all to me, the only bits that I would say look bad are the cutscenes on the train, they're super low res and blurry and I'm not sure why. The PSVR2 does not require a monitor or tv to use, maybe for the initial setup but after that you don’t need one.

Imo it's games like these that do nothing to help popularise vr gaming, it's an on rails shooter, if it wasn't vr it would be laughed at as a simple mobile phone game, why does it get a break because its vr?? Vr needs full games imo not shallow linear mini games.

@@Metalguy86 bro I'm not like that at all. The thing is, after years of tech upgrades, quest 2, upcoming quest 3, VR now being a viable $ maker, I was just beyond excited for psvr2. I actually love it. But you cannont deny, that like EVERY vr headset there seems to be a ton of good things, than a few that make you scratch your head. I just expected a bit more to be honest. The youtbers didn't help matters either with the obviously slanted reviews. Than as soon as the headset is actually out, all of a sudden there saying otherwise. Its just all of that put a sour taste in my mouth. I think its fairly obvious sony pushed this out the door earlier than they wanted to. They wanted to beat the other devs which was smart! So when Switchback was announced (ROB was my fav psvr1 game) I was SO pumped. All I wanted was something like that, just better. It seemed like sony was propping this as a system seller. Once again another bit of exaggeration. Im sure I will still enjoy it! But that kinda sums up the psvr2 for me so far. Im liking it, just kind of feel a bit like thats it?
@@Metalguy86 Like its honestly wild to think that the ONLY actual psvr 2 game is horizon which is mostly climbing! Its the ONLY game at launch that was made specific for psvr 2. No port,remake or upgrade. I just kind of wonder what happened there? Now what makes a ton of sense is what I said before. Sony initially wanted to launch later. Moved the release up to beat meta but the devs making the games were NOT ready. Hence even switchback getting delayed. I bet $$ we get a patch for switchback within the next 6 months that DRASTICALLY improves the game.

Unfortunately resolution is very bad even worse than psvr 1 , yes psvr 1 rush of blood had better visuals , i bought the game yesterday but i couldn't play more than one ride cause of the low RES and frame skip sometimes and very bad blurriness , game it's self is very good and have amazing designs but until update patch , i won't touch this game and i don't recommend it, especially for this price
I've had no glitches, frame skips or bugs thus far, played through 6 of the 10 levels and have had a blast with each of them. The visual quality on the cutscenes in the train is definitely blurry/low res (it's really strange, not sure why they look this way) but the rest of the game looks great, I'm really not seeing the low res issue others are calling out 🤷♂️
Everything is blurry past arms length...it truly looks like a psvr1 game, which costs £32 to play it on PSVR2...I've experienced 2 crashes and at least once per stage annoying frame drops
I came here to watch a video for a vr game im interested in and instead lost all faith in humanity. These comments are so stupid.
Anyways, despite of the apparent clouding especially in the fog, the game looks smooth and fun.
Just so you know. This is not the image you’ll see, when playing. This is the crisp, smooth polished pass through mode, coming through the tv. The actual image in psvr2 headset is much much worse quality. Like 420p

I have just played first level and I am thrilled. Worth every penny. The graphics and resolution is way lower than Horizon or RE8. In some cinematic scenes it is kinda blurry, I don't know if by intention. But and there is a BUT, the game is fewaking awesome. Smooth like heck, the eye tracking works incredibly accurate. I tried it at several places with the small skulls. You just look at it and any target is yours. In the fast games like this the classic aim would be pointless anyway😀 I am happy I went for it. Hope the other levels are as funny as the first one. Funny, I mean spooky, scary and bloody funny. When I was on a rollercoaster, it was real. I wish I had the moving armchair like in the cinema😆

Agreed - I loved the original, preordered this one and I'm looking forward to playing it despite many of the negative reviews that bring up a lot of great point/issues.. But some reviews like this (and mentioning the fact of being invited to the studio to try it out earlier), along with the clearly over-acting, really hurt credibility in reviews for the sake of staying on good terms with a publishers PR list.

These reactions are just corny and cheesy at this point. They're acting for the camera, which is equivalent to poor acting. I love my VR but have not had one game that's made me react anywhere close to how they're acting.

Real reactions will have a greater impact over this feigned nonsense that I've been seeing lately. There are many games that provoke genuine jump scare moments, and these reactions don't resemble any of them.

Sorry, but this game isn't even decent, let alone awesome. Horrible visuals. Bland, repetitive gameplay. Reloading doesnt work half the time. And all the other regular gamers who played it feel this way. I hope you're being honest with your opinions, and not just promoting. Without credibility, people won't trust your reviews and will lose interest in your channel. A lot of gamers don't have a lot of money. They will feel burned after buying this game because of this video.
I really like this game, not "all" regular gamers feel this way but a vocal majority online definitely do and that's fine, it sucks you dont enjoy it but that doesnt mean "no one can". You have to remember I'm just a guy playing games online, I don't get paid to do this, I work a full time job and make videos in my spare time. I just share the shit I enjoy. The thing I'm struggling with is why people loved the first and hate this one, I went back and played Rush of Blood today, they're basically identical premise & gameplay wise. Someone having a different opinion than you doesn't mean that opinion is "dishonest", I'm frankly sick of that being thrown around online.
@blastofo I am enjoying the game very much despite of lower res. Honestly, it's not that bad with the graphics and maybe the devs will fix some fidelity issues with upcoming patches. Even the pricetag is not high for this type of the game, however i'd welcome bundle together with upgraded RoB. I played the first level only and was thrilled. I played RoB 6 years ago and now I am enjoying the similar experience. Some reviewers complained that the game is not scary anymore. I think RoB had an advantage on this, because it was first. Switchback has a tough job now. But gameplaywise it is brilliant and superfun. I enjoy the game more like the ride through the scary castle in funfair and it works incredibly, at least for me. I am not complicated person, just want to have fun in my free time and this game gives me exactly this. Devs will care about us, you'll see. They have to🙂 And Beardo is cool and authentic.

The variety of bosses and boss mechanics, the variety of enemies and events that make you go "wow"? The lack of puzzles slowing you down in Rush of Blood? The lack of actual rollercoastery bits in switchback? I don't even think that's even an opinion, each game clearly have taken a different approach and are not the same. Everyone in my circle is saying the same things, it's just not as scary or thrilling as Rush of Blood. I must be just as confused as you because I don't see why people are having such polar opposite experiences.

I had a fucking paid gig to show a game two weeks ago, I played it, recorded it, used my evening to make a video and I didn't like the game. The devs wanted me to post a fun video without highlighting the bad stuff. I refused and told them I'd like to drop out of the paid promo. Please man, I'm fucking tired, you don't see what goes on behind the scenes. I post the stuff I've enjoyed, it's as simple as that, hundreds of hours of footage have been deleted since I started the channel of games I didn't enjoy, I'm not interested in editing and prepping negative videos and that's my choice.
