Dude, don't worry, you can't call out problems you didn't have or see. I did play this on PD's PSVR2 and had zero issues. Drove to Flukes house and it was pretty bad. Glad they got this patch finally out. I also thought the train was a vision/dream sequence too with the soft focus it had.

NOPE. The devs are real jerks about this and there reasoning makes no sense. Ive literally argued with them on twitter about it. THey say contact sony.
@@BeardoBenjo Pretty much but you should see the way SM talks to fans about it on twitter. There just nasty, and the reasoning doesnt make sense. They developed the IP, so because sony distributed means they cant patch it?? That theory is sort of proven wrong with ya know, the patch they just put out? My point is, Im pretty sure if SM actually wanted to port, or even simply fix the pause glitch on ps5, they could. I bet THEM contacting sony, and saying we have endless requests for this would go a longer way than fans just telling sony customer service.

Ben I have played many games that are janky but are a lot of fun to play. There’s nothing wrong with that. Your thumbnails don’t say review. You are honest with your reviews and I appreciate that! You keep being ypu!
People are going to complain regardless. I thought the game looked really good. But I acknowledged that others were having problems and didn’t take away from their experience. The game just wasn’t scary to me but I still enjoyed it. Don’t change or follow the sheep. Just keep doing you.
Good on the dev for fixing people's complaints. I just played the update and it looks much better now. That being said, I still wish there were more Rollercoaster thrills (Big drops, corkscrews, twists and turns, etc..) but its still an arcadey fun time in VR.
@BeardoBenjo the turning of the cart is it gonna be head movement, stick movement, or maybe something else, as long its not like the jet ski movement in re 4 vr on quest
I think if people watch enough of your videos they'll know what your tastes and perspective are, and account for it when deciding to buy a game. I still find your reviews helpful, and always entertaining, even though in comparison I'm not a huge fan of horror (prefer Scifi), generally like more strategic elements in my games, and put a higher emphasis on visual and audio quality.
Thank you, I think Switchback in particular was an exceptionally violent reaction from viewers and the VR community in general, lots of first time viewers due to PSVR2 who weren't familiar with me or my general video style
@@BeardoBenjo As someone who's been creating content for almost twenty years now, my advice is to 'mostly' ignore all the feedback you're getting if you're mostly in a state of growth and things are mostly working out. People all have opinions and they'll espouse them whether they know what they're talking about or not. Usually, they don't. As a creator, just be loyal to yourself and do what you want to do/say. That's the only proven way to become successful.
Fair play for acknowledging you didn’t mention the issues, lots of other PSVR2 content providers did the same and I bought it off the back of all of your reviews. I was so disappointed at the low level graphics and felt I’d been cheated out of my money. Supermassive games also need to take a long hard look at themselves for putting it out there in the first place.
By all accounts some had problems, some didn't. The Devs weren't aware of any problem till the reports started coming in. At least it all seems to be sorted and for the better. Couldn't have been easy identifying the root cause for sure.
Beardo, I’ve never felt lied to or misdirected by your videos or felt in any way that they misrepresented or ignored the quality of a game. Honestly, if that stuff bothers people, they should probably look up multiple channels’ opinions that specifically cover such things. I come here to see chill gameplay and for your wonderful humor. The first time i played switchback (pre-patch) i was left kind of dissapointed. I tried it today and Holly shit, the graphical improvement is monumental. Makes it feel like an entire new game!!! Absolutely love it now since the immersion level is up to my expectations. Definitely recommend now
I'm on chapter 5 currently and i don't think i can take the jump scares anymore. My heart's going to blow out of my chest the next time a water zombie jumps in my cart. :P RE4: VR Mode was fine, heck, i even plowed through the nightmare that was RE7 on PSVR1 years ago. But Switchback goes ALL OUT with it's 3D effect, and when something gets up close, and personal, and IN your cart it's incredibly effective.
“How dare you enjoy a game for the things it does great!” I appreciate content creators like you who will always make it known when there is something to love about a game which is what ensures that great games/movies/shows aren’t buried alive after critics crap on them. Book of Henry is one of my all time favorite movies and the 50+ friends/family I’ve recommended it to have absolutely loved it, but it’s a 40% on rotten tomato. Same goes for Days Gone, one of my all time favorite games.
Only thing I wish they did as well was added a few more roller coaster sections. The first was a scary roller coaster horror. This is a haunted house ride.
Highly recommend this game if you just want a quick easy old skool style shoot gun at evil things without all the craft this potion or speak to this person to progress, don't get me wrong those games are good but a bit of old flava galaxians to time crisis style shooting is a great way to waste away 30 mins of your time

Also, idk about others, but it does sound like you disregard ppl's expectation of good clarity when people say stuff like "I dont care about that. I play to have fun".. but for some people having that clarity lends them to have more fun because they might be more immersive.. It might be better to say "I simply just forgot to mention how the visuals look"
No what I said was the best thing to say because that's how I feel. I had fun with a game, recorded me having fun, threw it onto the internet and then had to deal with the fact people expect something of me when it comes to my videos, they expect a broader explanation of details and the overall level of quality of the product, a good portion of people weren't interested in me having fun with this game. They wanted to see if it was worth their money and in that regard they felt I failed because I wasn't objective, I just showed my own enjoyment with no other perspective.
Much like others said, dont worry about peoples complaints. You play games for fun, you upload games for fun, anyone that complains about you not ripping into games probably doesn't watch your content often. Your channel is the only "lets play" channel that im subscribe to. Thats because i like your humor and genuineness, also you play vr games that i otherwise would have no idea about because very few channels fill that niche. TLDR: Screw the haters, you do you! Love the content and have a wonderful day!!! Edit: One last thing, you don't owe anyone who watches your content anything. You put videos online for others to enjoy and they don't pay you to do that. If you promised something in a Patreon that's one thing. But the small amount of ad revenue given to you by Google is something you earned for your time doing this on your free time.
Gonna have to jump back into Switchback now. I didn't think it was too bad and definitely not worthy of the hate it got, but it definitely didn't feel like Next Gen VR. Hopefully now it does!
I'd say it now looks like it's running on a PS5, before it felt like it could've easily been on PS4/PSVR, the textures and lighting are hugely improved here and it doesn't have that weird blue/foggy hue anymore
I think the issue was a few youtubers were invited to supermassive studios to play this game prerelease. Its understandable that having met the developers and perhaps been wined dined a little, it would be hard to give then a harsh review on its release. We're all human.
I was one of those creators haha, the honest experience was this: I travelled 4hrs via train to the studio, I got there and sat on a little couch whilst I waited for my turn to play the game, I went in and played for about 1hr total (3 levels) and then I left 😅 there wasn't any activity or food or a whole day of the experience, I actually found a little pub nearby and went and had dinner alone after my play session because I knew I needed to make the 4hr journey home again. My problem was I was propelled by excitement, I really liked Rush of Blood and this was immediately fun for me, it just felt like more of the same and I enjoy the whole spooky rollercoaster thing. I didn't take the time to be critical, not because I felt obliged to be positive, but because I was just having a good time with it personally

I liked the game before the patch and still like it WITH the patch. Is it sensational? Definitely not, but at least it's a PSVR2 exclusive and not some lackluster Quest or PCVR port of games which were originally published years ago...
I'd be so psyched for a Rush of blood remaster. Lot of people hate on the game because they played Rush of blood and realize that was much better than this.
I've never been a big fan of games that I can't freely roam around in or in place shooters but this looks interesting. It will definitely be one of those games I buy when I'm just bored lol

People should watch these reviews as a rough guide to see if a game could be to their liking or not if they want a deep technical in depth guide to a games performance that is what the likes of Digital Foundry and others are for. When I buy a game with my money and I don't like it for whatever reason I don't think to myself Damn the reviewer never said that about the game. I just think ahhh that game was not as good as I hoped for but it's on me for buying it.

As @Dazednetic said, people are asking you to call out issues you didn't feel you had? That's some Jedi level playing. You would have to say that on every video you make. PS5 is standardised hardware how can some people have issues and others not? I get that you say your PC specs, but PS5 and Quest 2? 🤔
This is the overarching issue of being a content creator, if you play a game and genuinely enjoy it you can be branded as a shill or sell-out by those who didn't enjoy it, they can project their experience onto you and create a narrative that says you ignored issues or pretended it was better than it was. You can fight it, all you can do is be honest. Switchback was fine, I enjoyed it for what it was and it looks great now, so hopefully those who weren't happy at launch will be able to enjoy the ride now
Its totally changed to tell the truth, different special effect, less darker, it lost a bit of atmosfere and some color are changed they riviseted the whole game

I mean, from a marketing standpoint, they were trying to push the game out as fast as they could to get the game out along with the psvr2 launch.
