    Thank you for the quality driven hunt films. I am a fan of these videos that portray the hunting in such a positive manner. Here in the Southern U. S. We have an expanding ferel hog population. It is sad that our hunting opportunities are not expanding. Thank you again.

      Sidney,
      Super glad to hear that you enjoy the videos!
      I've heard you have a lot of problems with the hogs in some areas. It's a sad and it's even more sad if the hogs can't be hunted. I think it's important to find a model that brings a balance between the population and an ethical way of hunting them. I would and should be plenty of opportunities for hunters to enjoy both the hunt and to fill the freezer with fine meat.
      I wish you a nice weekend!

      Thank you Kristian for the nice comment! Hope you some day can go on a driven hunt for wild boar. It do not have to be very expensive, but of course it depends on where you go and how many wild boars to expect. I Germany a "Bewegundsjagd" for one day is between EUR 70-120 on normal hunting grounds, but you can also buy hunts in Europe för EUR 1200+ for one day, but there will probably be more boars. However, if you asks my it does not have to be a "better hunt", but that is a totally different topic... ;-)

      Thanks Tobias. A few of us in my deerstalking syndicate are looking into driven boar sometime next year. Maybe Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, something like that. Perhaps Germany too. Of course the cost of the hunt isn't the whole deal, it's the transport, hospitality, and time away from the wife & kids (a significant non-financial cost if the wife gets upset!)

    Very good shooting. But I would never search for wild boar without a rifle! I had some exiceted experience that I was sure that the wild boar must be dead but it wasn‘t and thanks to my fantastic dog I stayed health that day!

    • @RedMooseHunting
      @RedMooseHunting  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uli,
      Thanks for sharing your experiences. I agree that in the context of searching for a wounded boar, one should bring the rifle. However in this situation I'm not walking more than 20-25 meters from the place were I shot and I'm still in the area of what I could watch from the high-seat. This together with the fact that there was a lot of blood from the lungs, there was never any risk. Also the terrain was very open, so there is no way a wounded boar would stay that near to the shot place in this terrain.
      If the blood track had continued further, I would have either brought my gun or more probably waited for a search dog.
      Once again, thanks for sharing and have a nice day!

    Is a share of the game meat included in the cost of the hunt, or must you purchase separately any meat that you want to take home?

    • @RedMooseHunting
      @RedMooseHunting  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI,
      Thanks for your question and Waidmannsdank.
      Almost always the meat goes to the owner of the land or those how to rent the land for the hunt. However, many times it is possible for the hunter to buy some meat and bring home after the hunt.

      @@RedMooseHunting When participating in driven hunts, are you allowed to keep the tusks from boars that you kill, and if you kill a buck or a stag, can you keep the antlers?
      Regards,
      Tim

    • @RedMooseHunting
      @RedMooseHunting  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TB-zh9pe Yes, in most cases you can keep them. I have never been at a hunt where you can't, but I have heard of it. Then there is limitations and tag on what you can shot, but that's a different thing. If it is allowed, you can normally keep the trophy.

    Love the videos! Good to see an accurate and ethical hunter! Your marksmanship is superb! What caliber rifle do you shoot? What kind of blinds are those?

      @RedMooseHunting  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anthony,
      I'm really happy that you like the films. In the film I use my 9,3x62 Mauser barrel. I love this caliber with a silencer for driven hunts.
      I've to ask you to explain your second question, I do not understand what you mean by "blinds". English is not my native language so sometimes I run inte words that I can't understand in a certain context.
      Have a nice day!
      Tobias

    • @anthonyrowell3122
      @anthonyrowell3122 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Red Moose Hunting no problem, maybe I can explain what I mean by blind better. In America, a blind is something we sit in when hunting so that the game does not see us when hunting. In your video, you seem to be in more of a platform which you enter from the bottom.

    • @RedMooseHunting
      @RedMooseHunting  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok, in that context I know what a blind are... ;-) Usually on driven hunts in Sweden we hunt from small platforms, as you noticed. This is just to get up a bit from the ground a get some better ground for the bullet when shooting. It's more important on driven hunts when there is a lot of hunters, dogs, beaters etc out in the woods.
      On driven hunts the game is driven and is often not so observant as during a hunt when you just sit in a blind. So the need for full coverage as in a "blind" is not that important. It-s easier and less expensive to build and move shooting platforms, than full "Blinds". Also it's important to be able to swing and shoot on running game, sitting in a blind and waiting for deer brushing or grasing makes it possible to choose your shot better an it's enough with small holes in the blind for shooting.
      Hope this explains some... ;-)

      Uwe,
      I'm not good at German language, but I think I understand the context of your comment. I can't see that I should be a less hunter for protecting my hearing. Most older hunters I know have problem with loss of hearing and that makes them to miss a lot when the hunt, because they do not hear the animals coming. Out of respect for the animals I also want to be as good shooter as I can be. The silencer I use mostly because it reduce recoil and improves my shooting.
      Everyone makes his or hers own choice, but I choose to protect my hearing and try to shoot as good as I can. ;-)
      Thanks for your comment and have a nice day!

    Ni får gärna ta bort den bombastiska musiken. Det verkar vara någon slags regel när man gör jaktfilmer att det ska vara så dramatiskt och högt som möjligt. Personligen tycker jag det är irreterande då man ena sekunder viskar och i den andra slår allt vad man orkar på pukorna.

    • @RedMooseHunting
      @RedMooseHunting  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hej,
      Tack för din kommentar. "Smaken är ju som baken" och i detta fallet så blir nog musiken kvar... ;-) Dock respekterar jag din åsikt och tar det till mig. Jag har genom året fått mängder med kommentarer kring musikens vara eller icke vara, någon vill inte ha någon musik alls över huvudtaget, andra vill ha lite musik och "stämnings höjande" musik i spännande scener. En del vill ha än mer tyngre cinematisk musik, vissa vill ha mer country och andra lite rockigare. Så för en del år sedan så bestämde jag mig för att köra på en linje som jag själv gillar, för jag insåg att hur jag än gör, så kommer det inte falla alla på läppen, så att säga.
      Dock lyssnar jag gärna till vad ni tittare tycker och jag är absolut inte omöjlig att anpassa mig och jag ser tendenser av att majoriteten av tittarna skulle föredra det ena eller det andra, så kan jag ju anpassa det lite efter vad trenden är. Så därav är all "feed-back" välkommen.
      Vad tyckte du om filmen i övrigt då? ;-)
