2022 Porsche Macan T review - The Macan T is a more driver-focussed version of the Porsche SUV

- The Macan T adds considered dynamism to Porsche's SUV. Following its resurrection in 2017, the T designation has only been applied to Porsche's sports cars, first in the form of the 911 Carrera T and subsequently to the 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster models. The Macan T is the first four-door model to receive the same treatment and it places an emphasis on driving fun.

Thank you, Dave for your review. Great one..
Am impressed to see that ‘T’ provides the agility & driving dynamics, does that goes for original spec T to be for enthusiast & fun daily drive.. or do you think having PVT + Air Suspension (expensive a must for T. Please let me know your thoughts.. Thank you. KR
Thank you! The tweaks to the Macan T do give it an edge, though having tried the standard suspension and the optional air setup, I'd stick with the regular steel springs and maybe spend the money on something else. ^Dave
I picked up one two weeks ago and I totally agree with everything you have mentioned. It’s so much fun to drive it . I don’t think I need GT
Thank you! Congrats on your purchase!
Waiting to pick it next week 😊
Have fun!
would you say the air suspension is worth adding or the standard PASM is fine?
The standard with PASM is fine in the vast majority of scenarios. If it was me ordering the car I'd rather spend the money on other items. ^Dave
I just love this car
What do yo like the most about it?
Would you recommend the T over a S with a few extras? Or for literally the same price here in the UK the S would be the one to go for?
It really boils down to what engine you'd prefer. The V6 has a lot more character, whereas the 2.0 lacks sound and performance, but it does have slightly better handling due to a lighter engine being in the front. Best to look at the T as being a better version of the base Macan rather than an alternative to the S. ^Dave
A question as someone who tested the car, is the standard 8-way passenger sport seat fully electric or partially like on the standard Macan?
Best to check the Porsche configurator to see the latest spec.
I lovet it 😍
Would you rather this over the standard Macan?
Is it quick???
Quick enough!
They should have bumped the hp to 300hp
That lack of any power increase over the base Macan IS a bit odd considering how it could have been done.
@@CompletecarIe Yes. Especially when VW uses a 300 hp version in the Arteon. (in the U.S.)
With the incoming electric version, it’s getting really hard to justify the Macan price here in Ireland, as reflected in the almost zero sales of late. There’s a couple of demos in Porsche Dublin with 2-3,000kms for €113k and €117k respectively - a few grand shy of an e-hybrid Cayenne. When the EV arrives, there’ll be few who lament the demise of the 2.0L Macan I think
The taxation doesn't help here, but Ireland is a tiny market in the global picture. In places like China, the 2.0-litre is the biggest selling version, accounting for 90% of Macan sales. Porsche has sold 680,000 Macans since 2014. ^DH
The EV range is going to be horrible especially in cold weather states. The Porsche dealers around here in the Midwest USA can’t keep the Macan in stock. I had to order my Macan.
"The Macan T is a more driver-focussed version of the Porsche SUV" Apparently no it's not, have a look at the Nick Murray Channel, he explains.
Nick Murray hasn't driven one so he's not got any idea what the T is about ask someone who's got both Gts Gen 3 & T part from the power difference the T is a mini Gts when it comes to handling also the power on T is more than enough for the local roads.
The T is more setup for sportier driving, as I explained in the video.
Who is Nick Murray
The car is V6 not V4
No the Macan T is a 4 cylinder
It's not a V6
I don’t Know why Porsche wasted there time with another model of a gas Macan there literally wasting there money because the lineup in 2023 will only be electrick.
BTW i still like the Macan T a lot i just think that they might have wasted there time thats all because they are going to get rid of this cars build in like a year right?
The electric Macan will be shown later this year, for production in 2023, but there's still a huge number of markets that want gasoline Macan models. Creating the T version wasn't a hugely expensive thing to do either, so it makes sense for Porsche to do so. The Macan accounts for 29% of all Porsche sales.
@@CompletecarIe Yeah i agree there is still a lot of people that want gasoline but will it help them though to create another Macan, because isn’t the Macan S only 3000 dollars more? In US at least. Also like will it have more people by the macan? Also my mistake i did not know that it is not that expensive to create i just assumed it was.
The Macan ICE makes a lot of money for Porsche and it is a hot seller. Also the EV won’t be around for another year or so. Also the EV will price above the GTS over 100 grand.
