    I am a stay at home wife, I’m 22 years old and got married when I was 18. I have never had a job and have always been a stay at home wife. We don’t have kids either and I actually have a lot of medical issues as to why I can’t physically work. A lot of people judge our life style and have so many opinions on it but as long as it works for our family and makes our husbands happy then that’s all that matters!

    • @BreannLaFaye
      @BreannLaFaye  5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Exactly ❤️👍🏽 Block out the negative even when it’s hard. Happiness is an individual goal and when you get married, it’s two individual goals combined.

      Thank you. But if there was an award for the worst stay at home wife, I might win it lol Forgot to wash his work clothes the other day and I neglected some housework. I'm not the best at this by a long shot and I beat myself up when I forget things. It's a job I'm working at daily. Your so sweet tho, thank you love ❤

    Wow, thanks for sharing. I searched this same topic a couple of years ago and the few influencers at the time with videos were getting rude comments and looked down on. Im glad to see more people are accepting it more as a option. I've been a stay at home wife (no kids) for 2 years now and love it! My husband and I think it's best for us, with me being an introvert and dealing with anxiety and depression. Sorry for the long comment. God bless!

    • @Saturn890
      @Saturn890 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      People still make nasty comments 😭. I have been trying to find a support system for SAHW with no kids just to deal with the constant anxiety the stigma brings for being one. I was put on anti-depressants but that still wasn’t enough to deal with the constant harassment I was dealing with at my job. I think God had a better plan for me as I was part of a lay off and have never been happier. My hubby has been incredible and supportive, especially since we’re trying to start a family and he works night shift. So nice to see another person like me!

    • @malindacampbell4699
      @malindacampbell4699 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Saturn890 Saturn890 Yeah, there's always gonna be some people who don't understand because, in there minds, SAHW (no kids) doesn't fit the mold society wants. A support system would be great to be apart of. If you find one please let me know. At least we have the support of our husbands. You stay positive! 🙂Videos like this are helping to stop the stigma that we're just lazy. Plus it's helping people like you and me know that we're not alone in this. God has a plan for all of us .🙂🥰

    I'm 33 y/o and I was working in detention for almost years after college. I was very STRESSED...I came into the position healthy and by the time I quit last year I was on 4 different meds and much heavier in weight although my eating habits were actually that I was eating less due to being so tired. The Lord revealed to me that my stress levels were so high that my body's response was inflammation...I'd stopped absorbing nutrients and my immune system crashed. Needless to say God made a way. I quit my job some months back and I'm a stay at home wife now. My husband is happier and so am I...we are hoping to start a family now that I"m out of that situation. I wasn't even able to get pregnant that entire time because we'd gotten married just before I started. Now with less stress I pray to get my fertility back.

      Breann LaFaye yes!!! As black women’s especially it’s sometimes looked down upon... it isn’t there is a lot of things at your feet when you’re not chained to a 9-5 job. Your marriage and eventually your kids benefit tremendously from it. You will get looks and comments from all kinds of people (like seriously), for all kinds of reasons. Don’t let it bother you. This world is upside down... one of the biggest ones is what if he leaves? ... I say I’ll figure it out then... the other one is... but you have a degree.... I say yes that’s true but I get to live on a smaller scale like the wealthy folks and so hopefully I’ll have the time to build something for myself on my terms instead of making someone else rich, while trying to prove the world that I am real woman (whatever that means- I am a woman)... Take care of your home and yourself and your husband... you guys will do amazing things... you can always drop me a line if you like🤗

    I'm a stay at home husband which is really out of the ordinary. I was a 911 operator for 15 years and got really burnt out and developed emotional trauma between the job and catching my ex wife cheating on me so I battle anxiety, social anxiety and depression. I'm the happiest when I'm at home. My wife is very supportive and told me that it's okay to find a part time job and stay home and take care of everything. Like you I am very supportive of all the things that I need to do around the house. I try to make sure that she doesn't have to do anything, not even cook dinner, and no, I'm not lazy...So thank you for sharing, it helped me be more okay with where I'm at in life.

Every couple just wants to be happy, even if you just sat around the house, worked out and ate, if thats what makes you and your husband happy, then who is anyone else to judge the dynamics of your marriage? But you do actually work hard to make a pleasant environment for the both of you. ❤

    I honestly need this I’m 22 years old and my husband is 27 years old when I met him I was working but where I was working at was very stressful on me mentally so I decided to leave and me and my husband talked about it and he was OK with it he’s now actually in the Air Force I thought that because me and him were happy that everything was going to be perfect but I was never expecting so much backlash for not having a job just because we don’t have children, it drives me crazy that the first thing people say is you’re lazy when they don’t even know how long it took for you to get to that situation , and they don’t know your money situation , and things like that. But I honestly needed this

    I’m also a SAHW, mainly because I am a military wife and we are currently overseas and it’s hard for military spouses to get a job away from the states. Also I went to school for massage and I was going to do that until my physical health couldn’t keep up. I have ligamentous laxity (causes my ankles to be weak). But it works for my family and a lot of people are speaking on “what would happen if you guys divorce?” And we are super super comfortable with our setup.

    • @BreannLaFaye
      @BreannLaFaye  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly! No two SAHW stories are the same. And the reality is, “if” (and I’m using iF lightly) something went wrong or changed, we would adjust to the change just like anyone else. I’m happy you are comfortable but the only thing you should worry about is how you guys save for retirement and build well together 👏🏽👍🏽❤️

    I'm also a stay at home wife, too. I quit working full-time three years ago due to the commute (45 minutes each way) and the stress levels it induced (account management for a manufacturing company). I worked part-time for about a year after that doing customer service at a different manufacturing company. It'll be two years come December that I won't have worked at all outside the home. We are actively trying for a family and have 9 dogs but we also love to travel. My husband is medically retired from the army. He doesn't work either. We budget and live entirely off his pension and disability. Once you get used to living within your means, it's very easy. We also don't have a mortgage though which helps. A blessing I know most don't have. We aim to live off half of our income each month and put the rest into savings. I will probably return to work after we have school age kids just for something to do but we'll see.

    Sooooooo you are not really a stay at home full time because It sounds like you work part of the day or week. Nothing is wrong with either way but it just seems to me that you are working from home part time. Love you guys!

      I’m a person who struggles with depression and anxiety, so maybe it lingers? I wasn’t particularly sad in this video but my demeanor usually is like this.
