I had a miracle happen I choose to believe. I was in the worst place of my life, out of ideas, feeling like killing myself, almost did it. Instead tho I got on my knees and prayed to God to take this life, because I can’t do it anymore. It was almost immediate the fog lifted, my eyes opened and things have changed. Just that fast. For this miracle I am in great debt for the grace of God, who has turned things around in an instant. I pray I never take it back. God bless you all!
9½ years sober, currently got my partner in critical care unit. Anyone who truly believes in God/higher power, please 🙏 prayer there's a great power in it, her name is Claire
Thank you guys so much. She's been home just over a month. It's been some journey. I've had to face places in me, that I didn't know still needed facing. But through strength and grace. I told God, bring her home an I'll help her every step of the way. Wish you all nothing but the best
8 days sober, going through a divorce and writing my 4th step. Having a struggle. God brought me to this as I was calling out to Him to please God help me.
Been celebrating my 10 yr anniversary (away from all that's familiar and safe) with some divinely orchestrated Sandy Beach youTube marathon I never planned on. And like any good alcoholic, now can't stop😂 Which I'm ok with for RIGHT NOW. SO glad I landed on this one tonight.... another incredible share Sandy--alive and strong in each and every one of us.🙏🫶🤝
I'm so thrilled to have found these talks on youtube. I got sober in 1977 in southern California.. the heart of some of best meetings on the planet. I was so lucky to experience 1000s of meetings, so much laughter and healing. I wish you all peace and healing. These speakers and meetings are few and far between these days.
The now is the end of the ego. Thank you so much for that. Most of my pain is produced by thinking about the past or by believing I can’t do better in the future than I have in the past.
The true power of engaging and living the steps is not mere sobriety from a substance but complete self transformation so that the problem no longer exists. Peace is discovered to be one’s true nature and therefore we stop chasing and seeking things for our ultimate fulfilment. This man shares the true import of the steps in a way that few are willing to take. And largely the issue is one of humility. People want to hand some things over to god but not their whole life so they live with a mediocre sobriety and varying levels of discontent. But we are dancing with relapse if we do because if our defence is weak because we aren’t willing to practice to the full extent then we may just end up treating the irritable restless and discontented condition in the old familiar ways, as many do. This is the reason for relapse, not because the steps don’t work but people aren’t working them to the full effect. And the real problem is the ideas we have of ourselves that we identify with that drive our lives and we most acutely feel in resentment and fear, not our true self, which is empty peaceful being. ❤️🙏🏻
Beautiful message. Yes emotional sobriety is so key in leading a life of peace and serenity. If not that crazy mind will be driven to a drink a drug a person or anything to escape myself
Exactly, my first sponsor told me, "If you can't let go and let God, just let go. And it worked. Things kept getting better, which led me to ask, "Since I'm not doing it, who is doing it?" I choose to call that unknown whatever, God. It's a convenient shorthand way to name that unknown whatever.
I'm just passed 3 months Sober. I I do attend AA meetings I do listen to podcasts and speakers online. I do have deep trust issues I know this and I know most people do I just have a difficult time connecting to people and sometimes the ones that come up to me are ones that shouldn't be going up to a newcomer if you know what I mean. If anybody has any suggestions I would be very grateful thank you Happy New Year to all and be safe
I Rise, I've been sober, happy & free in AA for 33 years, the message in everything you've been doing is pointing to seeking a Power that is within and all around you. The Big Book tells the story of how the first members went about that seeking, once they accepted their ideas - about alcohol, staying sober & life itself - didn't work. Chapters 5-7 describe how they sought that Power through doing the steps. I wanted to be free, so I did what they said they did. Simple, not easy. I too, had trust issues, the main person I kept trusting & who kept letting me down, was me - in every situation, I made decisions, even if I was 'people pleasing' I made those decisions & inevitably ended up feeling misunderstood, betrayed, a failure, etc. Go to a Big Book meeting, face to face or online & ask someone to show you how they practice the steps through the Book. Try it for a month..
When someone shares that you identify with, go up to them and strike up a convo like " hey, I really identified with your share..." even better if it is followed by "are you available to sponsor?" :) Hopefully you're 8 mo now
I'm addicted to sandy b...I met him after I finshed my steps the first time...he spoke at my club in houston...he said so many people go around focusing on the problem...Focus on the Solution...
Jennifer Cattell I've been listening to him for some time...I met him after I finished my first 12. Steps...he told the crowd...we can either focus on our problems...or we can focus on the Solution...which is God...
David Nicholas Thank you, that compliment is special especially when used with “and” after Sandy B.. he’s my favorite may he Rest In Peace. I listen to him all the time.
I'm enchanted by this content. I recently read a similar book, and I was truly enchanted. "Mindful Mastery: Living Intentionally in a Chaotic World" by Kyle Ash
Thank you all for your inquiry. We currently do not have copies of the paper available, but have sent out emails in order to ascertain it. We include a link in the video it as soon as we get it. We hesitated on putting this recording up (because of the references to the paper) but thought it was such a good talk we did not want to refrain from posting it. Please don't hesitate to let us know if there is anything else we can do for you. Namaste, friends :)
The now of being present may most easily disappear through the conditioned act of resistance in letting go next to whatever is realized and therefore accepted for simply being what it is.
The paper Sandy refers to is: Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) Recovery Outcome Rates Contemporary Myth and Misinterpretation, January 1, 2008 found at: hindsfoot.org/recout01.pdf
Being confident and having an ego are not the same . Believing that you can keep living without God and others to help direct and advise you in life’s endeavors that is the pitfall .
So in order for addicts to recover you have to delete the self...it's very Buddhist monk...no ego no control etc...I guess we are all connected we are all one but om sure choice exists for a reason.
I enjoy Sandy Beaches talks but when he says that no moment is better than this one, he is dead wrong on that as far as I'm concerned. Have you ever had your brains and body fried from going off psych drugs? Have you ever been in extreme, severe physical and mental torture 24/7 for several years? Ya, you might not agree then that each moment is as good as the next. Thank God for all the Grace and my healing and that I'm not in that horror show anymore and dear God, please pour your loving Grace on those going thru it right now. Amen
Jannietime1 yes,I have,I prayed to sleep, and wake up I wasn’t too bothered about, wanted to escape the pain, but I believe God will never put me through that again.i had to surrender,I totally surrendered to the programme but as sick as I was I know I put myself there and COULD go back there, not overnight but I have to accept that it happened but I have to change by the programme to make sure I don’t go back!!!! It’s how I have to understand it

God led me to exactly what I needed to hear and meditate on right now. Absolutely beautiful speaker meeting.

Beautiful.
Amazing. Thanks for sharing that.
You're rationalizing when you don't have options, that's what anxiety is.
You are so right about this. Amen my friend. God bless you on your journey. All the best
Give it away in order to keep it
Suggestion only

Best speaker meeting I’ve ever heard.
8 days sober, going through a divorce and writing my 4th step. Having a struggle. God brought me to this as I was calling out to Him to please God help me.
hope your 8 days has become 3 weeks now.
How's it going?
I’m In literally the exact same situation right now. I hope you are still sober, and I hope in 3 years from now I will be too
I hope you are well.

❤️☀️❤️☀️❤️
Sandy beach, bob d, and Scott lee have become the trinity of A.A. Speakers I wholly enjoy listening to.
Always have enjoyed his insights. Every now and again, I revisit his talks. Timeless...
My favorite speaker, he is the one i really get.
The now is the end of the ego. Thank you so much for that. Most of my pain is produced by thinking about the past or by believing I can’t do better in the future than I have in the past.
there is no past or future dude, only now.
Astonishing current. So much appreciation for sharing this with us thank you.
Best talk of all no-time.

Changed me , no words are able to describe how listening to this opened my mind and heart
Came here after listening to SHIA speak about his experience listening to these recordings
Really loved it:
I don't believe in God. But I believe in let it Go!

great talk. still drive me bananas when I hear people talk about "my life" at meetings. The ego is still alive and well.
WE manufacture our own misery. Self is the problem.
That same ego of yours that drives you bananas? See how that works?
So good...just so good. Let this talk recharge your spirit
"We seem to be in a hurry to get to the next moment." So true.
I can’t wait to go to another convention I wish there to be speakers as well spoken as Sandy spoke! Such a sweet disposition and realistic voice

31 minutes in my favorite part
There's no where to go now we are one
Being confident and having an ego are not the same . Believing that you can keep living without God and others to help direct and advise you in life’s endeavors that is the pitfall .
He's describing being born again. Or dying to self.....Jesus told many parables about this. (wine in new wine skins,...)
I like great the line at around 41 minutes
So in order for addicts to recover you have to delete the self...it's very Buddhist monk...no ego no control etc...I guess we are all connected we are all one but om sure choice exists for a reason.
Does anyone know where the 20 page paper Sandy references can be seen?
WOW.
Wow.

If you're going through pain and hard times it's because you took over.
God placed other people in your path to help and my problem is stubbornness that if I feel uncomfortable I’m doing it myself . Never works
