@Russ Ingram I agree, we need a revolution in UK politics, and I also agree that Starmer is not the full answer. I think it does need to be done. However, at this time, this is not like the Trump vote, this is much more severe and dangerous for the future of the UK, so for that reason I think it's not foolish to start with a small victory and it would be then necessary for demanding further change. I have also had to invest in more heavy/warm clothing for the coming winter months so i dont use the heating. I'm worried how I will keep my son warm and fed this winter. I've had to resort to food banks myself which was very painful. I'm working and still have to rely on external help to survive. I'm trying to provide for my son but its now impossible to do it without the help of some charities. Before the cost of living crisis I was able to afford all my bills and still have some disposable income for christmas and birthdays etc. Heating and eating should not be classed as luxuries. I've even seen a washing up liquid company advertise that their dish soap works in cold water?! It seems large companies are also using social media to normalise food and fuel poverty. Look at how wrong the tories got it - the public mood is dead against them. Would not have happened under Sunak, no matter what you might think of him.
Are you kidding me, Sunak is just a different head on the same monster. Moreover, the opposition is a beast not without similarity. It isn't necessarily this government that's the issue, although Truss and her cabinet are progressively taking us to new depths. But the system as a whole. The poor, working class aren't and haven't ever been represented in government. If politics were more diverse, by which I don't mean 'from a different ethnic background' but still attended the same public schools, the same universities, have friends and family in the same social circles. But actually reflects an accurate cross-section of our society, then maybe the system would feel ethical and fair. Until then we're just on a f***ery merry-go-round. Where the morally corrupt minority dictate a miserable existence for the hard-working majority.
You should not give to food banks to begin with. Some run as a small shop and do mark ups. Others just take the place of other super markets. Ethnic shops have raised their prices because of this too. Larger supermarket should be questioned and price accordingly. But they don't cos normally they averages out their other products.
Speeches and peaceful protests won't change Luz Truss's mind. ..she's too hardened for that. The only way is if anarchy happens outside No.10 Downing Street whereby people floor Liz's front door demanding immediate reversal of this take from the poor to feed the rich disgraceful mini budget
The people who work in food banks have my undying respect. That said they can only exist via donation. What happens when there is a critical mass of poverty? What happens when the supply of food donations goes into remission as business go bust and people are forced to cut back on their own personal spending? Surely then even charities will become less sustainable.
I don't know about in the UK, but here in the US, I see food markets throw away tons of produce. They have big dumpsters, (skips), full of groceries that are still good enough to eat, and could be donated to food banks.
@@sugarbomb26 The main source of food for food banks are food retailers mainly supermarkets. The catch 22 is they are open for profit and not charity. During recession and energy crisis where storage costs money even they are cutting back as much as possible how much the store pre and by default post sale. There are now more likely reduced priced sales within the stores rather than directly donating them or dumping food. Food does become available when outlets closedown but again there’s a critical mass of food obtained this way.

The main source of food for food banks are food retailers mainly supermarkets.

Foodbanks are just used by people who have spent their money badly. Close down the foodbanks and they will have to start spending their money better.
Solidarity from Malaysia, these out of touch with reality politicians are a disgrace, including those from my own country.
She's a member of the WEF... what can you expect... and the other choices were the same
People need to stand together to take back sovereignty in this country !
It makes me feel angry and ashamed of this Govt situation we're in rightnow, fighting to make our voices heard to the powers that be, that "Enough is Enough" Our working class citizens are having to depend upon charity food banks to help them and their families survive and at the same time maintain their jobs because there isn't another option!!! This is the real world we living right here right now, wherever in the world you maybe You need to stand up and fight for your right to have a voice of plea to end this nonsense!!!
To use an American word in my phrase for the day "the country is in the John" I saw a homeless man this morning i told him im going to give you some money pal , so i went to the richest part of my town and put 250 quid through the letterbox and hope it trickles down to him
Well done. Hope more people read this.
You are so right about corruption. The way Starmer was allowed to trouser £120,000 of undeclared gifts and still keep his job was disgusting.
Get the tories out. If Truss is the best they can offer they’ve clearly overstated their welcome
Good people, I hope they get what they and those they represent, deserve- some respect and a FAIR GO from the greedy bastards in power.
Easy fix. set a base pay for anyone working in government(parliament/region rep). pay them minimum wage, outlaw lobbyists and setup a special oversite committee to monitor all investing and account activity. Only then will you have a government for the people by the people. Also stop giving your monarchy your tax money for just existing, I know they represent your culture but for christ sake the people of England are the soul of the country! Get rid of the leeches!
I'd be happy to see them paid a hundred grand, but their accounts must be transparent. Also, expenses are approved by a neutral party, perhaps someone unemployed in their constituency, who would understand the value of money and that ten grand on champagne for dinner maybe isn't a good use of our money.
We want to attract good people, but at the same time repel those who are only in it for the scams and thievery that they will be able to pull off.
Defund the govt, defund all the institutions to the bare bones and let people decide where to spend their own damn money.
@JPNW We pay about £500 million to keep the monarchy and get £ 2.5 billion back in revenues they create, tourism being a large part of it, plus King Charles can sack the PM which is highly unlikely but considering everything "unprecedented the last few years ...

Laughing at us all.... remember its to save the environment from cow farts, thats why we will be starving.

You didn't ask "Londoners" - you asked a handful of activists at a demo. Talk about being stuck in your bubble.
The problem is these protests are always ignored. Unless they are prepared to start an armed insurrection then they will be ignored forever.

Just remember that both Labour and Tories have been in power both long enough to stop this, they are the same wolf, just in different sheeps clothing.

Jeremy Corbyn was a true labour leader who stood for the working class. Blair the neoliberal war criminal doesn't represent the working class and neither does starmer.
I blame Roy Hodgson for Liverpools poor start to the season. Wish he’d done things differently 13 years ago….
Respect to everyone who turned up and showed support. People are fully awake now and things are beginning to happen. I can't wait for the next General Election.

Should not shy from the fact British government looted wealth from other countries and did nothing on their own. The looted wealth is over now and has started reflecting in their economy...if this is not good enough British royals continues to live royally on the hard earned money of the citizens.
I hope the Tories are watching and listening to these people They are speaking the truth about what the UK way of living is It's Unfair
None of these two parties have not let you vote on anything forinstence big issues for over 40 years, in fact all they do is shaping your life, your future FOR YOU, as you have not voted on anything and you still accept you live in a democracy when you don't at all England needs a new proper Democratic party

No such thing as a "proper" democratic party, a public vote would have to be taken on everything and nothing would ever get done.

I know. Shocked. But this account is also not proper media you know ? Cos our media is screwed up already. Masked either way. You need to learn via educational books instead. Weird times, right ? Look at the department of media and digital.. they merged them. They should not have merged them. This is why we have no control. Fiction and non fiction now sits side by side. Which is getting worst because... Foreign companies also violate rules as well anyway. Into the same pool. Our prosecutors does nothing. This is "globalisation" for you. Only BBC and our state media runs in a legal manner behind their infrastructures. The rest ? They don't cos they won't have the budgets.

Once upon a time there was a vacancy for a Life Guard. Trizz Lust (not her real name) applied for the job, even though she couldn't swim. Eventually only two candidates remained. The toffy nosed selection panel discounted the highly qualified rich Indian fellow in favour of the dumb white kid (Trizz Lust), who although was rather clueless & of course couldn't swim, had a neighbour/colleague who could swim, was big & brash & luckily knew it all. The first week in their new job disaster struck. But that story is so unbelievable & incredible, you would wonder how the bungling pair were ever let loose & allowed to drown a generation of gullible innocents. Pure fantasy, or maybe not so pure ? Just criminal !

I think being Boris' bedfellow for the last few years made Sunak just as repellent, it would have been little better if he was PM. The party is rotten, no matter which scapegoat they present to us.
@@Harrier_DuBois they are pretty much all rotten. We will be in the shit whoever is in power, however the depth might vary.
Part of the problem with the UK is that it is far too overcrowded and the population is growing massively year on year due to migration and more. More and more people - demand for everything goes up and so do prices from housing to childcare to energy to food and more. No doubt these Londoners think we need even more. They have lots to say on what is not working but no actual solutions as to practical alternatives when we are nearly £3 trillion in debt. Glib slogans and nice ideas won’t change things.
