    The tough cut is one bad dude. The spindle guards are a welcomed addition on the blades. Especially when you find a section of woven wire fence hiding in the tall grass...Trac On!!!

    I just ordered a 4500 with Tough Cut (and 72 inch finish mower) from my local dealer. What is your advice on the optional front wheels for the Tough Cut? I understand the point about the greater height adjustability with the optional wheels, but assuming the basic deck (without optional wheels) covers the heights I need to mow at, what are the applications for mowing with, or without, the optional wheels? Most of my Tough Cut application is mowing grassy fields with three year old growth (high grass/light brush).

      @ventrac  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the height that you want to mow is covered without the wheel kit, there are only a couple factors that make the kit worth it. If the terrain is rough enough, the wheels help the deck roll over some of the terrain. Without the wheels, you can get closer to some obstacles though so it might be a benefit depending on where you're working. Most people prefer to run the deck with the wheels, but we do have some operators that are perfectly happy without. If you're on the fence, buy it without the wheel kit and use if for a while. Then you can always add the kit later if you feel like the deck needs the wheels for support in your mowing situations.

      Thank you for the prompt reply. I will add that my local dealer has been fantastic. They are extremely knowledgeable about the equipment and spent a half day with us on our property doing a detailed demo. There was never any pressure to buy, and frankly, the performance of the Ventrac system speaks for itself as you run it. We have significant hills to mow, and the added security and efficiency of the Ventrac as compared to the CUTs we are currently using is game changing. Thanks again for the reply, it was hard to think of every question during the demo and I wanted to try this on-line forum to see if I would get a response. You didn’t disappoint!

      @@ericbeck5748 Thanks for the compliments! We're very glad to hear that you had a great demo and got a chance to enjoy the Ventrac on your hills. Have a great time when you get the new equipment and check back in if you have more questions or feedback.

    Well well. There are 2 things of importance.
    1. How to lift the deck up. WoW & WoW, I never knew that - seams easier than the way I have been doing it... Will try later this morning.....
    2. The wheels on the front of the deck. I think there is a fault design here. Will email Dallas direct I think before I write about it 🇦🇺🙏🇦🇺

    What if I hit big rocks?

    • @ventrac
      @ventrac  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We would recommend not trying to mow through big rocks. 😎
      In all seriousness though - hitting a big rock with any mower is probably going to tear something up. With a Ventrac, the belt should slip as designed before the rock has the chance to take anything out but it's advised to walk the area you're mowing first to avoid this if possible.

    With a rear discharge and the mower in the front that would all the dust and pollen will be coming up on the operator

    • @ventrac
      @ventrac  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The deck directs all the debris and cut material down on the ground, underneath the machine and away from the operator. Dust and pollen are actually often times worse with a rear-mounted attachment because the front of the tractor hits the material when it's uncut and knocks the pollen and dust off right in front of the operator. With a front-mounted deck, the material is diced up and directed toward the ground sooner before the operator gets there.
