    You completely missed out the hardest part, getting the old axle out!

      Use a puller or put a hammer over the axle in the hub grab a sledge hammer and wack it until it comes out once it slides out grab a sock and a vice grips have a friend hold the vice grips held on to the socket and wack it out the rest of the way :)

    one thing that I would recommend is to cover with coper lubricant the joint that goes into wheel hub, so that next time it is not that hard to remove.

    Always making it look so easy in the video, yet here I have been hammering this shaft for 1 hour in order to get it out. It's still in there...

      any tricks you can share. I'm currently at war with mine. 6 bolts are out it just wont come out of the hub

      @@DJ264enman If you have to remove the bearing anyways, I would say apply heat with a burner. Maybe that can help. Otherwise: screw the nut on, and turn it back just a little so the axle can move. Then use the biggest heaviest hammer you van find and hammer the living crap out of it.

      Yeah I got it after lots of heat smashing with a sledgehammer and hurting my hands for 2 afternoons. 200k northeast driven miles, that shit was welded in there with salt flux :/

      @@dokterkarel it does take 10 minutes if you don’t live in the rust belt. Just drop the swaybar and the rear bit of exaust if driver side and unbolt and give the axle some tappy tap taps with an extension or something and it plops out

      @@Re_Kitty mine had little to no rust, yet I had to smash it with a sledgehammer for 10 minutes to get it to move a few millimeters.

      Took me 2 days yo get mine out left a massive puller on it over night and a lot of heat and still had to beat the shit out of it with a sledge hammer

    hey I'm doing the exact same shit to my car but I cannot get the star bolts off its got 160k and the bolts never been off I bought the star size 10 and got 3 out of 6 and other 3 bolts are feeling stripped how do I get them off I need help PLEASE , another solution please there's too much play in the star socket now

    When you take it out, do you have to replace the differential fluid, or do you just make sure the new axle is lined and put it in?

      You dont have to replace the gear oil. Unless you want to or its time.

    I really don't like how you work on that car. You pull on the exhaust system, not caring that you are damaging it. You touch the disk brakes with greasy hands instead of applying the hand brake. I wouldn't let you work on my car if you payed me.
