Actually, It has changed. It started out being classified as a Vault, but now Sabian has reclassified it as an AA. Some still have the Vault logo on them because they were manufactured before the reclassification, but all the cymbals manufactured after the switch now say AA. You can visit Sabian's website to check it out.
If someday his music career gets to an end, I think he should make a great job as a seller... I'm almost leaving everything to run and buy this beauty...

Actually, they changed it a bit for durability when they switched it to AA. The Vaults were really not that durable, so they made a few changes and made it AA.

they discontinued the vault line and put all the cymbals from vault into the line their sound belongs to.
so the holy china is an AA cymbal now.

I got to play the 19" one yesterday. It is right what the people say... This China is the loudest cymbal you've ever heard. The other drummer hit it together with a 19" Zultan f5 Crash and you could not hear the Crash cymbal at all...
But i find that the Holy China has no fullness in sound. Just super loud.

No, they switched it to the AA series. I forget why exactly. Most likely because it's made like an AA cymbal, high pitched like an AA, and at the price of an AA cymbal.

I'd definitely go for the holy china. It has a crisp, trashy sound that cuts out pretty fast. The x-treme china has a lot more ring to it. Doesn't matter what genre of music you play. It's the way to go.
a while back i bought a 16" wuhan and thought it was ok sounding (i like the trashiness) but i decided to drill holes in it. i put five 1 1/4" holes around the bell and five 1 3/4" holes around that (just before the bend). so i paid 30 bucks for it and it sounds incredible! and looks awesome too :P so i highly recommend chinas with holes. a bigger holed wuhan would be just as explosive as this one
I imagine Chad uses a China twice an album... just always thought it was a strange choice of cymbal for him to endorse. He used to have a signature Crash if I'm not mistaken....

demsokk hey man just curious to you play the hell out of it I mean like heavy thrash metal - or about how Chad is playing in this video? This was literally the next cymbal I was going to get but a cracked 21" that's a hell of a lot of metal to split. I'm sure it's somewhat less strengthened due to the holes, but was just curious about your situation bc now I question the quality!
watch matt halperns video on hitting cymbals, i highly doubt you break another cymbal in your life. it has nothing to do with the quality of the cymbal, its about the drummer using it. don't treat the cymbal how it shouldn't be treated, and you'll have it for the rest of your life.
