One of my favorite movies growing up. My entire family quotes this constantly. The first and second movies are my favorites, but all are so enjoyable. Glad I found your channel. Subscribed.
I LOVED your reaction! It was so great to see you have so much fun. Tremors is my favorite horror series! Now, personally, I feel you should watch the rest. Each movie has great, loveable characters. And each movie fleshes out the creatures more. They'll never be more than campy monsters movies. but they're fun, feel good campy monster movies. My sister and I quote the first four movies all the time. Each movie has its own set of amazing laughs.
Thank youuu!!! 😝 yeah ill def watch the sequels lol I remember the trailer for the 3rd movie (of the 4th?) being on some of my vhs tapes in the early 2000s lol
"Broke into the wrong goddamn rec room, didn't ya you bastard!" Part of the backlash this movie got (and currently gets), is that people judge the movie on the mislabeled "horror" genre. It's a "creature feature" movie, which is a subgenre of action/adventure. Fun Fact: S.S. Wilson said that he got the idea for the film while he was working for the U.S. Navy in the California desert. While resting on a rock, he imagined what it might be like if something underground kept him from getting off the rock. Land Jaws Fact: When Chang is partially swallowed by the Graboid, it swerves back and forth before drawing back under the ground. It's almost identical to the scene near the end of Jaws where Quint slides into the mouth of the giant shark and it swings back and forth with him in its mouth before sliding back into the water. Gun Enthusiast Fact: Burt and Heather used the following firearms to kill the Graboid that burst into their rec room: Stey-Mannlicher SSG-PII, Winchester model 70, Winchester Model 1200 Defender, HK91A2, Colt AR-15 Sporter II, Remington 870, Sig Sauer P226, Ruger Redhawk, M8 flare gun, and then finally Burt finishes it off with a Belgian William & Co. 8 gauge shotgun (The Elephant Gun).
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 yeah supposedly they didnt really know how to market the movie, although I’ve seen the original trailer and it seems to be pretty obvious this is a fun creature feature lol im so happy this became a cult classic
That's just it. I saw a reaction to this movie and the two reactors gave the movie thumbs down, because it wasn't scary enough for a "horror" movie. I made the comment that it isn't a horror movie and I got ratio to death by people willing to die on "This Is A Horror Movie!" hill. There's no honor or glory defending the mislabeled genre. Go in Peace and Walk with God. 😎 👍
Shut Up, James....how the heck is this your first time watching this? I think I saw this at the drive in? I vaguely recall watching a couple of the sequels but they didn't grab me like this one did. Just such a fun time. RIP Fred Ward...always a joy.
I dont know how ive gone this long without seeing this 😭 im excited to watch the sequels, although I know they wont be as great as this one. And I didnt know about Fred Ward 😢
CTFU!!! All the names were said multiple times, but I’m glad you liked this movie. Heather & Burt, Chang, Mindy and her mom, Melvin, Nestor, and Rhonda
I'm terrible with names, if you couldn't tell haha But I'll never forget them again because I loved this damn movie and will be watching 239409378 more times lol
Loved your reaction and thoughts! please, PLEASE do Tremors 2! It's legit one of the most underrated/underappreciated/underreacted sequels of all time. It balances just as perfectly the humor and horror elements, and strikes the most perfect 'self awarenss' chord of not only this franchise, but arguably any franchise in the similar horror/Sci fi vein. Tremors 3 and 4 are up to you...they're varying degrees of 'meh', and 5 - 7 are (IMO) garbage. Regardless, you've earned a new subscriber
Haha thank youuuu! Yeah I love that everyone is weighing in with their perspectives of the sequels. They all look crazy and, understandably, low budget, but I LOVE these characters, so ill likely react to 2 🙌
One of my favorite cult classics, like ;Pumpkinhead,' 'The Car,' and 'Big Trouble in Little China. Fred Ward and Kevin Bacon had amazing bro/old friends chemistry and they played off each other perfectly. Too bad Bacon didn't even come back for the first sequel.
I knooow I was shocked at how much I loved this movie! And I’ve heard mixed things about the sequels, but I know that Kevin Bacon originally really tried to separate himself from this film. It wasn’t till a few years ago that he started publicly coming out and saying his distain for the movie was because of his own anxiety and depression and that it actually was the most fun he had filming anything. The behind-the-scenes on the Blu-ray from arrowhead are amazing!
Give us a Reba sequel! Haha Instead of HALLOWEEN ENDS I want TREMORS RETURN and the teaser ends with Reba caulking a shotgun and saying “damn it, Burt” lol
I have loved these movies 1-3 for years. And I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction to this movie. (I would suggest the other 2 as well) but 4 just lost the magic and I didn't like it as much as the others. I am new here only having found your channel a few hours ago and I've currently got a playlist of your reactions ready and waiting for me to watch. You are incredibly funny and entertaining looking forward to more keep up the great work.
@@shanearnett3235 🤘 thank you so much! Yeah, this one became an instant favorite for me and I’ve heard that the sequels are fun mostly so I’ll probably do them as live. Watch parties at some point. Thanks so much for watching!
hey James i hope you get a chance to see the sequels of tremors i think they just did a 6th or 7th about four 5 years ago. i strongly suggest popcorn for part 3 and part 4 which has some fun humor but not enough to kill the horror. i did see parrt 5 or 6 and there is something really cute and funny that's discovered with the character Burt which i also feel was very good for him i wont say why because that would be explained in part 2 and i don't want to give that away. I did have another suggestion im not sure if i mentioned it already but. they made a horror version of phantom of the opera and the actor who plays freddy krugar played the phantom and his version is extremely creepy. (you're going to want to eat before watching ) i think it was either the very last year of the 80's or earliest years of the 90's.
@@shut_up_james speaking of spooky stuff did you know that the original "Tremors" was filmed under the name "Dead Silence" and was filmed to be a more serious horror film? Late in production they changed the name of the movie and cut it to emphasize the humor.
@@RetroRobotRadio oh I never heard that! The behind the scenes never mentioned that thats cool! The writers did say they had to produce quite a few drafts of the script before production started
This movie an others from this time are better then some or most horror movies made today. Because as Robert Englund put it they let you get to meet the characters an know them. Before the sh1t hits the fan so you get a chance to known an like them or not. That way it keeps you on your toes because you have your favorites that you want to survive. The characters are actually treated like people in them not like modern day horror movies. Where they are mainly there to serve one purpose only that is to add to the body count. I mean Robert Englund would know because he's been in tons of horror movies. Since he became famous for playing Freddy Krueger hes been in mainstream an non mainstream movies. Basically if he liked the script or screenplay he was in for working on the movie even if it was a small role in a independent movie. That's why Robert Englund is a true horror movie icon.
The movie keeps the monsters a mystery, but in each of the sequels they reveal a little bit more. For a while there was a Tremors TV show on the Syfy channel and they had a whole web page devoted to the hidden biology and history of the Graboids.
Practical effects ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS blow away CGI. As a matter of fact, CGI is one of the main reasons that the movies of today are mostly trash. They don't make amazing films like this anymore.
I VERY MUCH agree! That's why a lot of today's movies lack a certain charm... or why the Nightmare on Elm Street remake (imo) doesnt hold up: SUCH bad CGI

Tremors is one of those, "if you don't like it, we can't be friends" movies.
Two and three are fun as well.
@@2o4tom haha agreed! how can someone not like a this movie? unless they’re a serial killer 🤷♂️
This is in the top of my creature feature list. Love 1-4 (4 is a prequel) the others aren't as good but they're still fun.
