Crocodiles aren't that fast on land though yes they aren't that slow either and are capable of sudden, short bursts of speed. They are faster in water, their natural element yet they are actually also not very powerful or strong, graceful swimmers. But they definitely dwell in water which is their natural habitat, in all the freshwater systems around where they are native to in the world. Rivers, swamps, so on. They rely more on camouflage and ambush aka the element of surprise, to take down prey and competition alike. And yes also their size and strength, combined with their powerful bite force, thick hide and aggression.
