    The best "default" airplane in sim. What a joy.

    A note for all flying this plane. For it to navigate while going at speed ALL control assists must be off otherwise when at altitude and on speed neither the nav nor the heading select will work. It was a very frustrating problem and I had to go to the Inibuilds forum to find what the issue was.

      Brilliant mate!👍 Returned to msfs after a few years of absence.
      Had no clue a payware-grade aircraft was added to the default roster.
      I just ran into this issue with the hdg-slct and nav.
      Glad it's an easy fix
      Now I'm just looking to recreate an actual flight this beast did back in the day.
      What a gem this?!

    Holy cow my friend I think that was quite possibly the best and most satisfying first person (plus other views) landings I’ve seen on this game to date. So realistic and perfect. Good job mate, I’m loving your videos! Only discovered you yesterday

      I’ve also just watched your full beginners A320 tutorial from 3 years ago, I’m just wondering if before I rewatch it, take notes, and apply it myself, is it still accurate and valid or has anything changed (for example fixed bugs etc)

      Haha, many thanks for the kind words Vectra, much appreciated. I’m really glad you’re enjoying the content to such a degree (welcome to the channel)!
      I hope you had a great Christmas. Cheers and all the best : )
      PS. Apologies for the slow reply regarding the tutorial: I don’t think there’s too much information in there which is inaccurate however, the default A320 has improved quite a bit since I made the videos so, the aircraft probably has fewer bugs / more functionality. You may well find that a more up-to-date tutorial is more beneficial.

    BY FAR my favorite airliner in MSFS. Not because its the best simulated (its systemdepth is awesome and well simulated though) but because it makes the most immersive feeling. The level of detail in the cockpit is beyond everything. Take your time to zoom in the spinning knobs on the clock where even the millimeter sized grip-structure is a 3D/4k-texture. The wear on the (thrust-)levers is on point, try this plane! I feel like you can land this little giant everywhere. The only drop of bitterness is its external sound. I really hoped that they improve it with a update. I have never flown a A310 but the flightmodell feels on fleek considering the planes size and age.

    Nice video. Very detailed as always. Snow in Atlanta in the summertime, hmmm... I'd like to understand how MSFS decides where snow and arctic conditions should be. I was flying in the Inside Passage of the Alaska panhandle a few weeks ago and there were vast areas on snow and iced over waterways. The temperature was well above freezing (about 15C). In the real world, the water in this area never freezes over, especially in August. Sorry for the rant, but it kinds of kills the immersion. I wish they would fix this issue.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I 100% agree, hmr; there are still significant issues with how the sim handles Live Weather - parts of New Zealand live under perpetual snow for example. We can’t blame Asobo for this one though, as I was actually running a custom weather scenario haha (courtesy of Weather Preset Pro).

    I haven't flown this in a while, but I remember it being very sluggish in roll, making it difficult to line up on final. Sounds like maybe they've improved that. Of course, I'm using a 25 year old Microsoft Sidewinder joystick and a much older brain that barely remembers what I had for breakfast this morning, so maybe it's me.

      Hi Jay,
      I’ve only properly flown the A310 twice (last time, being my previous video in the aircraft), but it certainly felt to me as though iniBuilds have tweaked a few things with the flight model. The aircraft felt much more natural in the flare, though my new PC / improved FPS may have helped there also.
      Haha, I still have a Sidewinder tucked away, for use in a couple of other sims (namely space sims). It’s an absolute classic (I’ve pretty much owned a Sidewinder, ever since I started simming)!
      The A310 is definitely worth revisiting, not least of all because it’s free haha. Happy flying and all the best! : )

    The early Airbus A300 steam gauge cockpit, and the A300-600/A310 mixed EFIS/steam gauge cockpit, are-to my eye, at least-the most handsome Airbus cockpits ever built. Of course I’m a layperson, so I get to look at them without having to worry about flying them, but based on aesthetics, at least, there’s just something that’s exceptionally attractive about these old cockpits, compared to the modern all-glass cockpits.

    One of the most beautiful liveries. Never gotten in the A310 but that flight deck is so classic I might have to check it out. Would be fun to see you check out the updated adobo ATR 42/72, a lot of fun to fly around Ireland and there are some great small airports sceneries like donegal, cork, Shannon.

    • @TrueBlade-1889
      @TrueBlade-1889 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But the ATR is still rubbish ... way too many things that just don't work.
      Given FS2004 had a ATR (Flight1) that worked PERFECTLY... there is no excuse.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I very much agree, Renny; the old Delta livery has to be right up there as one of my favourites (whereas, the new Delta livery does absolutely nothing for me). The A310 is well worth checking out - no harm in trying it and as you say, the flight deck fits into that lovely crossover between steam gauges and modern digital displays.
      Funnily enough, I was thinking to myself only the other day, that I ought to check out the ATR again. There is rather a long list of addons that I keep meaning to revisit, but there’s just never enough time haha. I will certainly keep the ATR / Ireland in mind though, cheers : )

    From this side of the pond, I thank-you sir and all of the ITB staff for this demonstration of the iniBuilds A310. I thoroughly enjoyed the flight, and had I known a flight on a Delta A310 from Atlanta to Detroit would take less than an hour, I would have taken that flight in leu of flying other carriers. With all honesty, not only am I out of my league when it comes to flying a large commercial aircraft, I am nowhere near the ballpark. Nevertheless, I still learn a great deal by viewing your videos despite having the vaguest idea when it comes to the cockpit procedures. But I figure, who cares? I’m having a great time despite being on a commercial flight without firmly grasping my adult beverage of choice.
    The livery was exceptionally spot-on and as with your nostalgic experience with British Midland, so I have the same with Delta Airlines. Although I never flew on an A310, I did fly extensively with Delta on business in that era (mostly on L1011’s and B767’s). Objectively speaking, of all the US carriers, Delta maintained its commitment to service and passenger comfort significantly better back then. Unfortunately, everyone has merged and all competition has switched from passenger service to providing the least expensive flight. How sad!
    Although I am not able to speak authoritatively regarding its accurate flight characteristics, I do have one criticism. I had the sensation that the cockpit lacked in the area of 3D modeling. Of course it could have been the corned beef and cabbage I enjoyed last night, but for me, the 3D effects were not up to the standards I’ve witnessed from other addon companies. Certainly, I am being pedantic and the modeling did not effectively distract me from enjoying my experience.
    Sir, I again thank-you!

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cheers Guerry, my pleasure, as always!
      Haha. It was a speedy run up to Detroit - I lit the afterburners in the cruise : P
      As you say, if you’re enjoying the video, that’s really all that matters. Like everyone else, I started out in simming with essentially zero knowledge and I picked up a tonne through reading, watching videos etc. I always enjoyed learning about these sorts of things, so it never felt like a chore.
      iniBuilds did indeed do a nice job with the livery and the old Delta livery looks great on most aircraft - it’s one of my favourite historical liveries. I’m glad the flight brought back some nice memories for you! I don’t have any experiences with Delta myself, but I gather they used to have a real camaraderie and pride in what they did (I seem to recall hearing, that the employees actually brought the airline a 767 when times were tough haha!). Everything has certainly trended to towards simply providing the cheapest ticket possible, which is a real shame, but I guess were in the minority with our feelings on that issue.
      I think the modelling of the iniBuilds A310 is decent, though I have definitely seen better, yes. It will be interesting to contrast and compare with their upcoming A300. Still, for a free addon, I think we can all say “not bad!” haha.
      Many thanks as always! Have a great weekend : )

    awesome video as always, your graphics look a bit different to my eyes, but most likely wrong and just the atmospheric conditions, but are you using nvidia filters/reshade now?

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you very much Andrew, I’m really glad you enjoyed it!
      The graphical changes are down to a combination of factors really. I upgraded my PC a few months ago, so now I’m running everything on Ultra. The atmospheric conditions certainly played a part during this flight and I do also “tweak” things here and there - namely I tend to add some vignette to my external shots (but I’ve been doing that for a long old while). I did try some of the Nvidia filters a while back and whilst I liked the effect, I prefer to tweak things during editing, rather than use the filters during recording, as it gives me much greater flexibility overall.
      I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )

      My PC specs, are in the video description of each of my videos. I have run 3 different PC’s over the lifetime of the channel, so I would recommend watching a video from each different “era” and that way you can get a feel for what sort of graphical results, each level of hardware will produce. My current PC is definitely “overkill” for MSFS, but my previous PC broadly hit the “sweet spot” I would say.
      I hope that helps a little. Let me know if you have any more specific questions. I’m not a “hardware guy”, but I’ll try my best to help where I can.

    Hi, thanks for an amazing video. I was just wondering what your secret is to maintaining the perfect descent profile? I always find that the A310 profile descent in the sim is a little wonky; for me the V/S DEV diamond never stays in the middle and I'm left managing my descent using a combination of V/S and FLCH, instead of using PDES from TOD to 12000 in the case of your flight.

      @IntotheBlueSimulations  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Jose,
      Cheers, my pleasure on the video, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
      I’m afraid I can’t really offer up any suggestions regarding the A310’s profile management; I’ve only flown the aircraft twice but, both times the Profile Descent mode seems to have done a reasonable job. Perhaps the aircraft handles certain descents / constraints better than others, or perhaps there are some actions that can be taken to improve the A310’s handling of the descent but again, I’m afraid I couldn’t tell you what those actions might be.
      Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one - I hope you manage to get something figured out. All the best!

    I really want to enjoy this aircraft, but I play on xbox with no HOTAS, and the throttles on the A310 are really...weird? Like they don't act like how other throttles do. You have to push them up almost half way before it actually moves you anywhere but it puts on way too much power as well.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi LCC,
      Well, that’s a good question haha. The A310 is simultaneously both similar and dissimilar, from a more modern Airbus. Generally speaking, the systems logic seems to be such that you can fly the A310 pretty effectively using modern SOP’s. The philosophy of the A310 is significantly different from later Airbus designs though; no flight control laws, auto-trim, fly-by-wire etc. The A300 / A310 really does seem to sit somewhere halfway between an Airbus and a Boeing, in terms of design philosophy. It’s very interesting to be able to get a feel for the roots of modern Airbus design and I’m looking forward to being able to contrast and compare with Just Flight’s A300, at some point also : )

      Haha. Well, I can’t say that I have tried TB, so I don’t know how accurately the aircraft might perform the manoeuvre (a lot of aircraft tend to struggle with an autoland in MSFS), but in theory at least, I’m pretty sure the A310 can autoland, yes. That is VERY lazy though haha! : P
      Happy landings and all the best : )

      Hi Gibanica,
      Well, they are and they aren’t haha. The weather scenario was not default - I was using an addon called Weather Preset Pro however, WPP only makes use of the default MSFS weather architecture, so the clouds rendered / seen in the video, were technically default clouds.
      I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best : )

    I wish this plane worked on my sim, but it leads to CTD anytime I try to load it. Uninstalled, reinstalled many times to no avail. Inibuilds and my machine don't seem to like one another, as the AN-225 fails to have an electrical system, (same with that ATR, but that is not inibuilds), along with the Volocity also lacking an electrical system. I tried to get an answer by inibuilds, but their custumer service cut me off after giving my machine specs (a machine that runs ALL OTHER AIRCRAFT, including the inibuilds Jenny, perfectly)

    • @FSFLIGHTproductions
      @FSFLIGHTproductions 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It might be do with your CPU. If it can't do AVX then it won't be able to run the 310 as its WASM based and the Jennny is not using WASM hence why it might work. Also the 225s ELEC and other systems are WASM based so might well be that.

      @@FSFLIGHTproductions Okay, that makes sense. My machine is on the ancient side. WASM is Xbox stuff if I am not mistaken though?

      @@FSFLIGHTproductionsDo you know if there is some sort of patch, or mod that would allow WASM to work with an old proc? (I am running on an AMD Phenom II, which IS slated for upgrade once major car repairs are paid off)

    • @FSFLIGHTproductions
      @FSFLIGHTproductions 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@pythosdegothos6181 Sadly, nothing will fix it. AVX is like a base level thing that either your CPU can or can't do. WASM is what you wrap the C or C++ code up in allowing it to run inside MSFS and also allows it to run on the Xbox. But once you upgrade your CPU they should all start working. But be warned any aircraft that uses WASM will not for until the.

      Hi Kesh,
      Haha well, the specification was actually correct, but only because the PC builder hadn’t set things up quite correctly for me. I kept meaning to find the time to fiddle around and have now finally got the RAM operating at a more respectable speed haha (I’ll update the specs in due course).
