  • The autopilot in the iniBuilds A310 is a bit convoluted and difficult to understand. Hopefully this video will de-mystify some of its usage for you.

    You make flying the A310 so easy. And you explain things well. I had trouble with the AP system, and now I fully understand it....thank you

    Hey Marc. I'm getting to grips slowly now with the A310, but I have found an issue which I am unsure about. If I hand fly the takeoff and then enable A.P after passing the first waypoint the aircraft does a 180 and heads back to the first waypoint in the F.P? If I press A.P before it reaches the first waypoint then it follows the course as it should. Is this how it works? Or is it a bug? I am on the xbox series S.

      @FlightSimSchool  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Have a look at the F-PLN page as you’re flying over the first waypoint. My guess is it won’t disappear from the top of the flight plan, probably because you didn’t fly quite close enough for it to register it. At that point, you can go to the DIR (direct) page on the MCDU, and choose the next waypoint in your FP that you want to navigate to. Then when you turn the AP on it’ll go to that next waypoint you just set. You can do this when the AP is on too to shortcut your route at any point.

    I'm interested in more information about the (final) approach mode that can be activated in the MCDU. I didn't notice that was mentinoned. What effect does it have, when to engage it, can i auto engage etc - perhaps with comparisons to the approach mode in A320 - like how does it work in managed speed when slowing down in sync with deploying slats/flaps? I know it works on part of the approach / speed range, but haven't figured out the details yet.

    Does the A310 (and the new A300) respect the speed restrictions when on A/THR + PROFILE mode? I find that on descent, other than the 250KIAS/10000ft restriction, it's usually going way too fast, especially on final approach. On the A320, I didn't have to manually set the speed and I would let the AP adjust the throttle/speed for me based on the MCDU all the way to touchdown.

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's been a while since I've flown it, but that does sound familiar. PROFILE mode on the 310 is no where near as sophisticated as the 320's managed descent.

    When I try to capture the glideslope, it only does it if the VOR/NAV/ILS switch is set to ILS on both the Captain and FO side. You only have it set on the Captain side. How come?

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess because I wasn’t paying attention :D It should be set on both sides as you said.

    Hi. Whenever i come into land it puts the throttle to full and it dont let me take it off. Why?

    • @FlightSimSchool
      @FlightSimSchool  ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds like you’re too close to the minimum flyable speed of the airplane, and it’s going into Takeoff/Go Around mode automatically. Try and stay about 10 kts above the red part of the airspeed indicator.

    • @FlightSimSchool

      I’m not sure I understand your question, but you have to change the altitude and speed on the MCP manually to match the values in the FMC.

      @FlightSimSchool  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So, turn them on after you enable the AP? That sounds like a bug though because you should be able to arm them before enabling the AP. The 310 isn’t exactly ini’s best work, they basically did the minimum that Microsoft asked of them.
