Much better sounds than previously but a couple of procedural errors. Canopy Jettison and MDC pins are removed before the canopy is closed. Groundcrew removed them because aircrew couldn't reach them after they were strapped in. Pre APU start the EPS pin was removed. Pre taxi the Seat pins were removed. Also the right hand ( No.2 ) engine was ALWAYS started first. I think I might acquire it. It will bring back some memories of my 14 years on the Swing-Wing Arrow of Death !!!
They are quite responsive to updating it too. I mentioned the lack of APU door actuation prior to APU start and they added it pretty quickly. It might be worth dropping them a line. (I know these are procedural errors but its worth knowing)
I did GR1 and F3s and you are correct, the right engine was always started first. And the Cam Jetson and MDC pins were always done by the crew which is why you had to go by the side of the plane or underneath it when they were closing the canopy. In fact after one went off on 29 while normal closing by grand crew, we always had to go under underneath or beside the aircraft to close the canopy.
I hate to be nitpicky as well, and I know the colour scheme is nothing to do with you. But they either painted over the green in two squadron colours or in the 13 squadron they painted over the grey with white But this looks like it’s Black, they only have painted white over one of the dark colours to make it Arctic or winter camouflage
If I remember, the ground power lead was removed after RH engine start? “RCOV at Eng” Also the control surface checks on the see-off should be.. trim to mech neutral, fly up, fly down, fly left, fly right, rudder left, rudder right, wings sweep to 25, flaps mid, flaps down, flaps mid, flaps up, slats out, slats in, airbrakes out, airbrakes in. At some point the liney would check the ground panel for fault indications, then do the panel and leak check, chocks out. For added realism in this sim, he should be crewing out and taking the hot spare. (I was a Liney at Lossie. It’s crazy that I can still remember the see-off and servicing now)
Bought the IFT F-35 last night after re-watching your update video about it. Really enjoying the plane. I trust your videos the most for an honest review.
Great video once again! You never disappoint. Learned some things with the Tornado from your presentation even though I’ve been flying it for a few months now. 👍
Thank you for another enjoyable, interesting and honest review.... You are the most in depth Sim. aircraft reviewer and you still manage to entertain.. Well done !!!! I've never purchased an aircraft without checking your presentations first... Roger.... Pembrokeshire
I live near Chichester and regularly hear the local Spitfire and Harvard fly over from Goodwood aerodrome. Oh, to hear the GR1 instead! ❤ Captivating video.
The soundsets are a Metal Concert! As always, I like the 'turn & burn' videos you produce and as always, I was pressed up against the screen to induce vertigo. Continued success.
Great stuff. love the fading rumbling sound at flyby.. Similar to DCS. In DCS you just hit f3 for a flyby. In msfs you need to play with additional stuff and set up. Too bad - would be instant purchase with simple fly by.view.
It's not a GR.1 though it's an IDS externally not sure if you can tell them apart but some of the cockpit instruments are different. I'm starting to think Just Flight have given up with their GR1 project having not seen any updates since February but I am going to give them until the end of the year, if no new news on a release date by them I may have to bite the bullet and get this one instead.
@@EvoraGT430 I'm building the front cockpit of a GR.1 and although there is some variation in the cockpit instruments depending on the mod state (mine is based on how it was during operation Granby in 91) the e-scope is different it's a rectangular shaped instrument but some of the controls particularly those on the right side console I have not seen on any variation of a GR. 1. I have done a lot of research into this in order to get my cockpit as accurate as possible but if you can point me to any photos of an actual GR. 1 cockpit with the same instruments as IDS then I would be interested to see those.
The SIM is accurately detecting wind turbines in path on Terrain Following mode! Eg. Set 250' and fly a plan with TF in, aircraft detects obstacles and pitches over them! Marvellous! If only we could drop those bombs!
You just seriously pissed off the RADAR chaps... shutting down before parking the TFR scanner ;-) Great insight into the world of the tonka pilot - thank you so much from an ex-RADAR chap. 😀
I really celebrated your video, especially your start up procedures…but i have a question regarding one step: You did (if I saw it correctly) set the HYDRAULICS in ON while starting the left engine. IMHO the pump have to stay depressurized until the speed of the engine is above 59%. In AUTO it will automatically switch between 70-110 bar depressurized to 270 bar full pressure when reaching self-sustaining speed. In some cases, if you go full pressure before that, the APU will be overwhelmed and shutting down. Sorry for my English btw. 😅 I really think about buying MS FS with Tornado after seeing your video ❤ DCS still has no Tornado 😩
Love your videos. Do you have any plans on doing one on the F-111 from I think GKS? I am using NickB007's Edwards AFB with it and its a lot of fun. Seems like a nice aircraft to me but would like to see your viewpoint. It was your videos that has gotten me back into MSFS, as since 2002, I had lost interest in it. Watching the TF-104 video years back now made me purchase the sim and the mod, as I typically fly in DCS world.
Did you ever do voiceovers for Stevie Beats and his Low Level Tornado flights for DCS world? Your voice is familiar.. also how do you get that in helmet sound of the voice? also last question, when I take off in the Tornado, the throttles automatically drop down to Mil Power, and my wings seem to sweep back far too soon, have I inadvertently set auto throttle's ?
This is ok. But there are a few features still missing. Track to TACAN. TFR...no doesn't really work, doesn't look ahead enough! Nevermind. Good attempt! Get it right on 2024 and it's good!
It was indeed a technical masterpiece, at least in the GR1 it was a physical map on some type of "film" that got projected (and tilted etc.) on the screen. So of course the map had to be changed if the jet moved around the globe. If anyone knows this better please feel free to correct this :)
In the back, you had a "Combined RADAR and Projected Map Display" which could overlay Ground Mapping RADAR onto the moving map. In the front, you had the RADAR/Projected Map Display which could either display RADAR **or** Map. The map was a roll of film containing the regional map for the place you were flying; which was projected onto the screen in the traditional cinema sense. The film was moved over the projection orifice to show the piece of map you were flying over. When it had got to the edge of a frame, you'd see it "slew" very quickly to the next frame on the film. Fiendishly clever. It got its position info from the inertial navigation system and main computer. During long flights, one of the Navigator's jobs was to select a piece of ground, and match the intertial navigator to it, to drag the "drifty" system into place. This is called doing a "Fix" - and there were numerous ways to achieve it.
@@talespinner4863 Yep, the map display in the back was a roll of camera film on a spool. With a lightbulb shining behind it, just like a cinema projector or microfiche. The inertial navigation detected the movement of the jet and the film spool wound as the jet flew along. There was a access hatch on top of the CRPMD where the Liney would change the reel film if the maps were updated or the jets went away somewhere. Or if a bulb had blown. If I remember the main computer had a tiny memory and was the same they used at traffic light junctions. I’m amazed they still were using this technology on GR4s in the 2000’s. When we had an American exchange Pilot, I always wondered if he thought it was a step back in time😂
It’s from a behind the scenes documentary of a 4 ship exercise in Scotland. The full video can be found on TH-cam if you search for “RAF Tornado GR1 - Recruitment Video - IX Squadron Training Flight”. It’s quite good upto the point the Tonado GR1 dog fights with a F-5 and wins (would never happen).
that is because they are not designed to be directly flown over the camera and there seems to be some muffled effect on the entire video pushing the bass up. if you fly them at realistic distance from camera point they sound much better. If the sound was made to work at directly over top it would sound terrible at a distance. Fly them for your self and make your own decision
I always make the same mistake and realize I'm not a patreon member and can't get these mods. I heard once you commit you can't cancel without issues. Not worth it.

Reverse thrust bucket 'wooop' sfx needs to be increased a bit, but other than that I agree the sounds are definitely better.

50 years of Panavia PA-200 Tornado "Tonka/Tornie" in 2024.
What are you using for the replay/fly by camera?
The wings go back to 45 at 350kts.
Did you not fancy turning the MASS to standby, then live? Good job, you didn't need to jettison the tanks on take-off.
Can you show the Mauser cannon destroying an enemy target?
The F35 new sounds are great but you can't adjust the volume, is this the same?
My tornado seems to want to keep pitching downwards and no idea how to stop it
Add trim

Hi, one question please, how to get this Microsoft mod?
Give patreon your money every month. These are independent developers that need your money.
It’s on the Microsoft marketplace. $30 or something like that
The In-Sim Marketplace. Its like £30
Also on ORBX.
If it could deliver ordinance it's a DCS bearer? Aw well...pacifists rule?
Well that's because it would need 100 times the code to drop weapons and the RAF haven't released the SIM code for that have they? But we can dream?
That landing is not insane realism!
AXALP!!
