Have had the Miele, Australian version, and far and away the best coffee machine I've ever owned. From stovetop espresso to full manual Italian made ones, this German powerhouse, made in Switzerland, is amazing. 6 coffees a day for 3 years and hasn't missed a beat. Easy to clean, programming does take time, but you can tailor everything to your needs. It's amazing! Wouldn't buy anything but another if the need ever arose. Which I doubt it will as every other Miele appliances we own that's Miele has been faultless. Simply amazing machines. #Mieleforlife
Witch model do you have ?
Thank you JJS! There’s not a lot of commentary around especially Aussie ones 👍
Looked all over the internet for this exact comparison. Wish you guys were in PDX. Thanks for breaking it down.
1:21 i though that was for the Wirreless module, or am i correct?
Thats correct. But that said, it might also be a port for service as well.
I love the look of the white Miele, which is odd since I usually prefer black. I'll take six.
This has been super helpful as I embark on my 10th (!!) day of researching machines. I think ive finally decided!
Which would you say makes a hotter beverage? I'm looking to replace my Miele 5300.
I only saw the review as soon as today but already ordered a Miele 6150 - and hopfully made everything right. One point to mention is the hygienic aspect as the MIELE has a removable brewing unit. I already own different (partially high end) models from JURA (Impressa Z5, Impressa C6 and others both at home and in my office) and they all have in common that very unpleasant time intense mode of cleaning.
Additionally 2 machines broke down despite the optionally attachable descaling cassettes with severe issues. What I´ve learned from an JURA maintenance service technician is that they have to be descaled manually despite the installed cassette (at least with our very calcareous water in the south of Germany) - but if the cassette is activated in the menu - the machine does not warn You any longer when descaling process is advised after a certain amount of cups.
So in the end after some SAECO models and the recent JURA ones - I´m ending up with MIELE - well, we´ll see how it works.
How is the Miele working out for you? How is the experience compared to Jura?
I agree with the cleaning. It's tedious to take the Jura apart once you get mold in the brew group. Cleaning tablets don't get rid of mold.
Gail I just want to point out that the one you prefered was still settling while the other was sitting there for a few seconds. View the frame at 7:06
Maybe should also mention warranty for each unit...
Hey
, which of them work more quiet?
Great job, Gail! Love your reviews and stuff.
Good review and I enjoy your channel. I concur the programming on the Miele is a little clunky, I think they really could have made that a bit more intuitive. Small correction, the Miele is also available in a stylish grey color in addition to the black and white. As a humble suggestion, I would have really enjoyed seeing a comparison of the milk abilities since that's probably a pretty big reason why a person would invest this much money in a high end superautomatic. A head to head comparison of the quality of steamed and frothed milk would have been very interesting to see, possibly with a full video of the entire process. I was blown away with the quality of the milk products in the Miele but to be fair I haven't seen a Jura so it would have been very interesting to see back to back. I also think a run down of how many drinks you can make before you have to empty the trip tray/basket would be interesting. Also the general impression of "quality" of build and warranty coverage of the machines. I know the Miele units are actually made in Switzerland and have an exceptional reputation for quality and customer service, but I have no idea about the Jura. Thanks for the review though! It's always nice to see the more "mid" units compared than just the high end units (IE: CM6350).
The built in plumbed comes in Truffle brown and it is gorgeous. I do not know that the countertops come in anything other than black/obsidian or white/lotus.
Agree about wanting a review of the milk frothing comparison.
Great review Gail, the Miele counter machine is really sleek. Thanks for the comparison.
I have 6150 and it ask for water always when the tank is nearly empty so there must be some sensor for it :)
Yeah, these have a low water sensor for sure. Sure she just had a brain lapse.
Hello Emil. I see that you own a CM6150. I just purchased mine but I am uncertain how to setup the ideal portion, amount of coffee, brew temperature and length of duration. What is your ideal setting?
This is silly, but I always wondered how to pronounced "Miele". I had a Miele coffee maker twenty years ago. It's was what made me never go back to average coffee at home.
These new Miele machines are really incredible. We've really been enjoying using them at the office!
In Germany, we pronounce it meal-eh. It feels so stupid writing this out in English but there you go :D
@@inerdt Yes! Here in the US most people pronounce it wrong, like meal-ah. I have no clue where that 'A' is coming from... Sort of funny, though. Same thing with the Slovakian laser manufacturer Kvant. For some reason they say ka-w-ah-nt here instead of kw-ah-nt
I'm so glad I found this channel. Wonderful work.
Cheers!
I have Jura E8 and is the best♥️
Miele's also made out of plastics?
How does the coffee taste on both? Does the miele do hot water? Anyone have ownership feedback on them?
The 6350 will do hot water, has an active heated cup warmer feature and includes a stainless ilk vacuum milk unit all for about $500 more. We use an electric kettle often and will do the 6150
Wehad a plumbed Miele built in unit and now that we have moved we will be getting a countertop unit so that we do not have to do a remodel to the cabinetry. We LOVED our Miele built in plumbed unit. You get used to its maintenance, it has great booklets, and user friendly programming. I highly recommend.
Mag DB do you have any recommendations for espresso settings?
I have the cm6350.
Best investment ever made!
Victor Enriquez how is the milk temperature on yours? Can you check??? Mine comes at 130-140* too warm for my taste....
But crema and coffee temp is amazing!
2:49 Right off the bat I notice that the Miele isn't user friendly if you aren't fluent in English.
What other languages can you set the machine to?
English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Russian, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Arabic would seem the bare minimum to me for marketing in the USA.
After it cools down the taste get more similar ? cooling down after 4 seconds??? Really Gail
Why are you comparing an $1,799 Miele to a $1,399 Jura?
The Jura E8 would probably a fairer comparison, although it is almost $200 more than the Miele CM6150.
Hi, I am looking at getting a coffee machine for the office. We have small office so we been using a delonghi bean to cup but has now seen end of life after 5years. I suggested to get the Jura E6 since it small office they won't spend more than that. What is your suggestion should i stick with Delonghi or is the Jura better option. I feel that the few times i got Jura, the coffee tasted better and the milk foam was 10 better than delonghi. I need to buy this soon so any suggestions is welcome.
What did you buy?
@@komagilo Nothing we ended up fixing the delonghi for now. Due to Covid things been little more difficult to get signed off.
Great review, thank you
Must try a Miele
One thing not mentioned in the review that makes the Miele superior is that the Miele has a user-removable brew group. Much more hygienic and if you're allergic to mold, the Jura may not be an option because at some point you will get mold in the brew group, especially in the humid parts of the United States.
She does, 5:46
@@toecutter5597 Ah, there it is. And she says this is a "non issue" in the Jura. Well, let me just say the cleaning tablets do not get rid of the mold. You have to take the Jura apart. The only way to stay free of mold with Jura is to always remove the drawer for 8 hours a day so that the brew group can dry completely, and this is especially true if going on vacation for a week or more. I forgot to do this once, and sure enough I had mold in the brew group when I came home...
I agree. Relying on tablets isnt enough
@@toecutter5597 The sad part is that I don't think Jura has any interest in fixing this, especially not Jura USA. They make good money off their monopoly on servicing and on selling the expensive cleaning amd descaling products....
Brilliant! Thank you.
With Lavazza beans I wouldn't expect any of both espresso to taste any good. I hope the bag was only there for promoting purposes and not actually used in the machines.
Which beans would you recommend for those machines?
Lavazza is very good coffee. I use it in my Jura.
Thanks!!
I always called it Mee-El... lol
in german the -le is just pronounced like in "leather". but it's interesting how it gets adapted lol
Yay! Brendan ❤️😍😘
Go Brendan, go!
Consider that Miele is almost twice more expensive.
I personally think the Jura E8 would have been a better comparison since they are so much closer to each other price wise..
After watching this video. My conclusion is the Miele CM6150 is WAY too complicated. I just want to make an Americano or an Espresso not become a computer programmer just to grab a cup of coffee.
U totally deserve a Mr. Coffee :)
@@timothyj1706 Mr. Coffee can't make an Espresso. What a deserve is a good Jura. Jura makes quality coffee machines that are also user friendly.
Really the default settings are fine and it’s really 1button operation for things like espresso or cappuccino
It is a pity that you cannot pronounce the names of both companies correctly 😔
So, are we going to pretend that we do not see that hose hanging out?
hey Miele, what gives?
Actually, something Gail didn't show is that the Miele's hose has a specific storage spot behind one of the panels so that you don't lose it. I think she had it attached because she wanted to show how it attaches to the drip tray for cleaning. Check out the Crew Review of this model. It's a pretty exceptional machine! Complicated but exceptional.
5:40 explains it
That‘s MielE, not MielA.
No, Gayle is pronouncing it correctly, or as correctly as a non-german speaker can.
it's like trying to make the name sound fancy for no reason. I like it though, it's kind of how in the US everybody pronounces adidas "adeedas"
@@earlmcmanus194 Americans can pronounce the English words "me" and "lesson". Now pronounce these two words together but stop at the letter S and you have a more or less perfect pronunciation of Miele. And yes, Gayle is saying "me" and "lasso"
@@kracked7637 Or the Europeean laser manufacturer Kvant pronounced as "kavaant" in the US. Very strange...
