    I just bought one of the Miele 6350 machines and although I love how it looks and the great coffee, this machine takes up more room than it appears at first glance. If you have a regular countertop that is 2 feet deep with an upper cabinet 16" above the counter (the skirt of the upper cabinet is 16"), you have to pull out the machine to the edge of the counter to fill the water container. Also, the right hand side door is large and swings out quite far. Again, if you want to open that side, you have to turn the machine to be able to do that or have a large vacant spot next to it. I'd say to do both things comfortably, you need an extra foot on either side of the machine. Or place it on a counter that doesn't have upper cabinets. Me, I like my coffee machine tucked away in it's own space and not on my island or out in the open.

    The aquaclean filter is amazing to go up to 5000 cups without descaling but the filter itself gets changed a few times during that period. It's worth it. Also Saeco actually recommends rinsing brew group with cold water because hot water removes the grease on the brew unit sooner than it should.

    She should have made a milk drink with these machines.

      she makes a milk drink with both of them in their own respective videos, I watched the individual videos both after watching this and it helped me a little bit, but yeah it would have been nice to see them both side by side in this video

      @@VincentMichael207 and which did you decide that you liked better?

      @@gosman949 I ended up buying the xelsis. I was able to get a free 3 year extended warranty (shopping included) on it and couldn't get that same deal on the Miele. I have been really happy with it! I loved my Krups EA9000 for several years but it finally broke so needed a new one. The Miele is a much more handsome unit but the xelsis is a lot easier to use and has been very reliable and easy to clean and the milk actually gets hot enough so it's fabulous

      @@VincentMichael207 Miele is much more handsome? How you can even compare them? It looks terrible, ugly! The shiny chromed steel of Xelsis looks much better and looks expensive compared to Miele that look cheaper and boring plastic all over.

    the xelsis waterfilter will not last 5000 drinks. It needs 8x replacement in that time ...

    So which one makes better tasting espressos, and other coffee drinks?

      Seattle Coffee Gear does DISAPPOINTING videos, because they don't answer the most important questions like yours, and they don't respond to comments/questions. For Crissakes, how can they not do taste comparison tastes? Pathetic.

    I am really torn between these two. I am obsessed with the Miele's gorgeous minimalist design (it looks fabulous in all white!) but the interface on the miele looks pretty bad/hard to use. But, once I go through the pain of setting up all my drinks, I don't think I'd really have to worry about that, and i'd just be able to touch and go. on the other hand the Saeco has a much nicer interface and looks a lot easier to use overall. I don't like the milk carafe not being stainless, but it's not too bad. I think the design of the saeco is really ugly. The Italian machines in general have a very weird 80s/90s futurist look, where as the miele has a really nice luxury minimalist look, more modern than futurist. The Saeco would fit right at home in an 80's scifi thriller about the future, where as the Miele looks like it would fit right in at MoMA. And then finally, I would really really love to know the reliability of these machines! I'm sure @seattle Coffee Gear sells a lot of these with their extended warranty, I would love to know which ones they see more often for repairs and what not and if they have any experience with which ones are more reliable. From what I've read online the Swiss machines tend to be more robust with their reliability and the Italian ones are prone to more repairs, but I couldn't find any truly transparent data on this. Philips, which makes SAECO tends to be a pretty reliable company though, so who knows. Right now I have the breville oracle but am looking to get into a super automatic because it's too much of a pain to use the oracle everyday. Someone help!

      I have both machines. The new Saeco is a no brainer: ceramic grinder 7 settings. much less noise and dillution when making a milk based drink. I also have an Oracle and a semi-automatic Prosumer. Out of the two machines (I use each in my business location, the Saeco is better for really dialing in drinks closer to a semi-auto.

    How do you know if your beans are oily or not?

    • @ericnovikoff5077
      @ericnovikoff5077 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If they are oily, they look oily. They'll have a sheen of oil on them and will stick together slightly especially if they are cold/refrigerated. Typically very dark roasts are guaranteed to be oily. Pete's Major Dickason's is an oily roast.
