You can get the Fusion XP+ Seal on a High Tier weapon and use it to max out any weapon with significantly less levels needed. Often you can max out lower Tier weapons with Fusion XP Seals from minimal fusion costs on the High tier Weapon resulting in quick Lvl 1 to 20 upgrades for the weapon you want. Sorry for the length, but hopefully this info can help someone or is useful to you.
Thanks a bunch for putting this together! I just started with the game recently and this aspect was a bit daunting compared to the first title's counterpart. Now it makes a lot more sense!!
The mat drop rate % seals have a bigger scaling effect that you would think. I have the master sword with a total of around 25% grass mat rate. One strong attack typically gives around 3-4 mats per swing, assuming you’re surrounded by the grass. The boost I mentioned eariler pushes it up to 10 or sometimes more.
I’ve been playing Age of Calamity a LOT since I’ve first got it a few days ago, put in a fair amount of hours in already, and I didn’t even think about doing something like this! All I’ve ever been doing was just mindlessly applying any weapon to the base weapon I wanted to enhance. This was really helpful information! Thank you!

I have been waiting for this video! I wish there was a supplemental video for this for where the best missions to farm weapons would be. As well as recommended builds! Also wish you talked about seals like Improves Found Weapons to know whether they stack or not.
I'm glad this stuff peaks your interest!! I'm still finding out a lot of stuff myself, but may make more vids on these things in the future!! The improve found weapon seal I think helps with the seal quality rather then weapon type, but I'm still looking into that one to be sure!!
Croton I'd love to see you cover which seals do and don't stack. For example, Do 2 "Perfect-Dodge Timing Window: +10%" stack to +20%? Or does the only boost come from matching seal shapes, in which case that slot would be better utilized for a different seal of the same shape? I'd especially like to know if the Perfect-Dodge Timing Window and Material-Drop seals stack.
Thank you for making this video! I found it extremely useful and definitely learnt a lot from it today (different shaped seal bit made me feel extremely stupid, but now I know better). I’m tempted to restart everything by removing all of my current seals from my current weapons and not repeat the same mistakes I did in the early game (R.I.P perfectly optimised Kakariko Kodachi that I decided to fuse with a Devoted Kodachi only to get mediocre results), but we’ll see. I hope to craft perfectly optimised weapons for each of my characters soon the next time I pick up the Switch and turn on the game. Thanks a lot!
Great content. I knew there was some secret mechanics to how this worked. But I couldn’t figure it out and I didn’t want to wait until I had multiple same seals before fusing. So I just fused everything with high attack power.
Suggestion: Maybe you should make a series about the ins and outs of every character. You could give an analysis of each of their combos, and the best way to use their abilities.
Of course I've went through almost the whole game and just now watching this...your video is going to be super helpful tho just like the botw weapon stats.
Hey Cro! Thank you so much for the video. Of the weapon upgrade videos I have found on TH-cam, this was one of the better ones! I feel a bit better about how it works and how to use my blacksmith. Thank you so much! Happy New Year!
Thanks dude your a life saver Now I have Mipha s Trident at LV20 with Power of 101 +15 bonus And Link Master Sword LV 20 at 82 +10 and I haven't reached end game I already can get them to LV30 I'm just farming for tier 2 and 3 weapons to enchant the power
I think I may have a correction, the bonus fusion material exp is only granted when the weapon with the seal on it is used as a fusing material, not when other weapons are fused into one with the seal. I just tested two weapons of the exact same type and damage but one had the bonus fusion material exp seal and the other did not, and they both gave the exact same amount of xp. I encourage people to try this and check me,I've only tested it once so far. Great video!
And I don't believe you can transfer that specific seal to another weapon, in hopes of using it multiple times. In my tests it just doesn't transfer even if a weapon is ready for a new seal
@@Croton So I'm just minding my own business after watching this and I get a notification that Croton had replied to my comment and I was like, "What?! He actually replied?!"
I knew most of this from Just playing around with it. However i didn’t really think about how Fusing useless weapons onto a fusion Material up would be a good idea. So that is for that!
Yeah Some seals if their trash then fuse then with your Fusion Material EXP Weapon to boost it's level Cause Each character has great moves to add like Strong Attack +8 percent and Regular Attack +8 percent ect Flurry Rush 22 percent and in later stages you can get Tier 2 and 3 weapons with LV 1 Power 70 Weapons then you can have fun for me Mipha has LV30 Trident 166Power and +20 Bonus She has the highest attack of all my Characters
As a huge fanatic of the original Hyrule Warriors, this new weapon fusion system in Age of Calamity was hella confusing to me, especially when paired with the horrid lack of explanation for all the depth there actually is to it. Thank you SO much for breaking it down into something coherent and easily understandable. Much appreciated.
I commented this when I was about 3/4 through the video. Just now heard the part about the spreadsheet of the hidden seals -- YOU ARE A GODSEND !!!!!!! Bless your soul lol
Oh! Also a tip that I've read, I believe this has been datamined, is that fusing weapons of the same type maximizes XP and minimizes cost. For example Mipha has three tiers- the Lightscale Trident, Zora Spear, and Traveler's Spear. You would get more XP fusing two of the same type rather than different, so you should fuse them first and then to the main weapon. Using Mipha as an example again, you would fuse all Zora Spears to each other, and then fuse that to the Lightscale Trident. This will give more XP than just selecting the Lightscale Trident and then the individual Zora Spears.
Just got this for my girlfriend. I’m a PS guy, but she’s gotten me into Zelda even more w BOTW. Can’t wait to play this with her tonight! I’m sure this will help thanks 🙏🏻
Thank you so much!!! I really don't understand why the actual game doesn't explain this in at least a little bit of detail. The original Hyrule Warriors was the same way. :/
Something you haven’t covered is the Great Success status. There is a quest in Eldin that, when done, will increase your chances of getting them. These happen when a weapon gets more EXP than the game shows it will. For example: You have weapons to just about get your main one to the next level, but it gets past that and a Great Success happens.
Thanks for this. I wish I had understood this when I started the game... now I have some weapons with random seals and am looking for the right ones to change them to... I also never realized other seals would enhance the fusion EXP up seal...
One very important thing I noticed is that fusing COST depends on the tier of the weapon you are fusing TO. The cost goes up as the weapon levels up, but a weapon like the Master Sword has a base cost of 150 PER WEAPON, and tier 1 weapons have a base cost of 50 per weapon that you feed. So if you're feeding weapons to a Tier 3 weapon with Fusion Mat XP... or you don't have a FUsion Mat and you want to level up your weapon right now...... feed your Tier 1 Weapons to another Tier 1 weapon, and feed THAT one to your main weapon. I think you lose a LITTLE weapon XP from doing that, but you save a LOT of money!
This is all unimportant once you realise the effectiveness of Great Success’. There is a quest in Eldin that grants a higher potential to get them. They grant more EXP to a weapon than expected. With both of this information in mind, you can grind your weapons up a lot.
So, let’s say, hypothetically, you either made a decision you’re not happy with for your seals or (like me) didn’t know how they work and end up with undesirable seals on your best weapon. How would you reset your weapon level so you can re-apply seals?
Alright, let me see if I can sum up the gist of the video. Essentially, dumping all your weak weapons into one big weapon with the goal of then dumping that big weapon into an even bigger weapon is a waste of resources, as I've learned the hard way. Instead, you want selectively fuse weapons that have the seals you want, make sure you keep adding on seals of the same type to get some bonuses out of them, and if you come across a weapon with Fusion Exp Bonus, you use that one as material. Did I mostly get it right?
question: can you modify hidden seals at all? eventually, you gain the ability to remove unwanted seals for a price, allowing you to further customize and keep strengthening weapons you started working on in the early game when tier 1 seals were all that were available. Assuming the hidden seals can be modified in the same way, some might find value in it, though it does raise the question of how to handle seals with effects unique to the hidden slots. Most notably, unique weapons like the master sword do not get copies that you can transfer hidden seals from.
I hear that there are ways to upgrade the blacksmith so that you can even remove unwanted seals on weapons. But the methods I try never match up and it doesn't seem many know how to unlock them.
Thanks for this video! Super useful and clever. I’ve been doing fusion all wrong. So one question, I noticed some weapons with the same seal more than once. Do seal buffs of the same kind stack?
@@Croton Thanks! Also thanks for being spoiler-free. Been enjoying playing blind - the trade off is not knowing what you don’t know, but the story is worth it!
A weapon that I have been wanting to fuse in this game is the nights bronze sword. Can I level up this weapon by fusing tier 3 weapons onto it with the same seal shape?
Mine has 20 Percent Flurry Rush damage +6 Percent Speacial Charge rate +4 Attack Speed Link is LV20 82 power +10 bonus unfortunately I didn't knew about the Fusion Material EXP early when link got it in Early stages and Mipha Zelda and Revali got it Easy in drop rates I'm trying to farm for Tier 2 and 3 weapons like Strong Attack or Speacial Attack + Mipha Her trident has LV 20 101 and +15 bonus +20 Speacial Attack + 6 Special Charge +18 percent Flurry Rush damage Again Farming for higher tier weapons before LV30
It takes affect as soon as Revali is mid air aka ZR Trust me it's Powerful When you get the Tier 3 Weapons for him I also have Damage with Status at 16 percent also Equiped with Revali cause all of his Status effects have a Wider range plus his Stasis Effect you have a Exploit to cancel and do additional damage to the Enemies on screen and their weak gauge is Exposed and then you go for critical attack My Revali does 76 percent Mid air Attack Damage I just need 2 more Tier 3 Mid Air Attack Seals to make him to broken

Hey Cro! Thank you so much for the video. Of the weapon upgrade videos I have found on TH-cam, this was one of the better ones! I feel a bit better about how it works and how to use my blacksmith. Thank you so much! Happy New Year!
This alone earned a subscribe
This helped soooo much! Thank you Croton!
Thanks dude your a life saver Now I have Mipha s Trident at LV20 with Power of 101 +15 bonus
And Link Master Sword LV 20 at 82 +10 and I haven't reached end game I already can get them to LV30 I'm just farming for tier 2 and 3 weapons to enchant the power
so easily explained thank you so much!
This video is super useful thanks 😁
I'm glad!! No problem 😌
I did not know fusing to a fusing xp up would give more levels to it! Now I can finally stay over 9-10 k gems, thanks
The spreadsheet is amazing thank you so much!
This is incredibly helpful.
Thank you, I'm glad! 😄
Thank you for this video. I really appreciate it.
I would love a video about rusted weapons and how to effectively repair them.
There is no way to effectively repair them. It’s all random.
It’s all predetermined when you get it.
I just started this a another day and I'm enjoying it
This is so helpful, thank you.
Thank you so much! I needed this.
No problem!! 😄
@@Croton So I'm just minding my own business after watching this and I get a notification that Croton had replied to my comment and I was like, "What?! He actually replied?!"
thanks my man, also road to 100k
Just got the game a couple days ago, this is super helpful!
Thank you I really needed this
Of course!! :) happy to help
I knew most of this from
Just playing around with it.
However i didn’t really think about how Fusing useless weapons onto a fusion Material up would be a good idea.
So that is for that!
Sooooo helpful! Thanks a lot man 👍
This really helped me because right now all my weapons are just a bunch of random seals
I really appreciate this even tho I beat the game
Still enjoyed the video and looking forward to more!
Thank you!! 😄
Subscribed 👍🏻
Very informative thanks
No problem! :)
This will give more XP than just selecting the Lightscale Trident and then the individual Zora Spears.
she also has the traveler’s spear, though that isn’t a good weapon to fuse into.
Elemental Damage is really Good Cause If you use Stasis Exploit you can do +16 percent damage and then some it's OP with Link
Just got this for my girlfriend. I’m a PS guy, but she’s gotten me into Zelda even more w BOTW. Can’t wait to play this with her tonight!
I’m sure this will help thanks 🙏🏻
Dude thank you so much. I’ve had no idea what was happening with weapons
No problem!! 😄
Had to come back to this vid after a half-year dormancy from AoC
DLC here i come
Thank you so much!!! I really don't understand why the actual game doesn't explain this in at least a little bit of detail. The original Hyrule Warriors was the same way. :/
I wish I watched this earlier, now that I’m in chapter 5. I just slapped everything together not knowing the system 😭
Keep farming For Seals You'll get Tier 2 Seals and later you get Tier3 Seals and Weapons aka LV1 60 or 70 power Weapons
Me too.
Thanks Croton now I can make my own *MOP DESTROYER* used by link
With both of this information in mind, you can grind your weapons up a lot.
and no need for all the caps
So, let’s say, hypothetically, you either made a decision you’re not happy with for your seals or (like me) didn’t know how they work and end up with undesirable seals on your best weapon. How would you reset your weapon level so you can re-apply seals?
Thank you this was very useful
No problem!!! 😄
Hidden seals are permanent and therefor cannot be added/removed!!
Just to make sure: Seals you remove from a weapon are lost right? And hidden seals can't be removed I assume?
You right
Your doc is more than useful by the way! Thank you a lot!
You can upgrade the upgrade seal material, just place another circle seal in the same weapon
Also good to know is you can remove unwanted seals. Feature is available through a blacksmith quest
I hear that there are ways to upgrade the blacksmith so that you can even remove unwanted seals on weapons. But the methods I try never match up and it doesn't seem many know how to unlock them.
every player doing future of hyrule: has 120 master sword
me, still waiting for a fusion seal: has base master sword
Thanks for this video! Super useful and clever. I’ve been doing fusion all wrong. So one question, I noticed some weapons with the same seal more than once. Do seal buffs of the same kind stack?
They do stack yes! No problem though, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! :)
This is amazing, thanks! Also, does anyone have any good master sword seal ideas?
Mine has 20 Percent Flurry Rush damage
+6 Percent Speacial Charge rate
+4 Attack Speed
Link is LV20 82 power +10 bonus unfortunately I didn't knew about the Fusion Material EXP early when link got it in Early stages and Mipha Zelda and Revali got it Easy in drop rates
I'm trying to farm for Tier 2 and 3 weapons like Strong Attack or Speacial Attack +
Mipha Her trident has
LV 20 101 and +15 bonus
+20 Speacial Attack
+ 6 Special Charge
+18 percent Flurry Rush damage
Again Farming for higher tier weapons before LV30
@@JDFrank20Diaz Thank you!
@@traviseaston193 Your Welcome
Does Midair Attack affect just attacks after you ride the wind, or does it affect all attacks where you're off the ground(Such as Revali's ZR)?
It takes affect as soon as Revali is mid air aka ZR Trust me it's Powerful When you get the Tier 3 Weapons for him I also have Damage with Status at 16 percent also Equiped with Revali cause all of his Status effects have a Wider range plus his Stasis Effect you have a Exploit to cancel and do additional damage to the Enemies on screen and their weak gauge is Exposed and then you go for critical attack My Revali does 76 percent Mid air Attack Damage I just need 2 more Tier 3 Mid Air Attack Seals to make him to broken
