Even with the "Mumble Mode" in TSS, it's not the same. The way they told you the story with no words allowed you to add your own voices as if you were playing with actual Lego or simply enjoy the exaggerated gestures and noises.

Lego Games started getting worse, once they put in the open World. With the open world they put 80h of mindless golden brick collecting into the game, whilst making the levels shorter and shorter to keep increasing the size of the open world. My BIGGEST complain about Lego SW: TSS is that the level aren't half as big as the originals. They literally reduced the amount of minicits/level to 5 instead of 10. The open world is great to have, but not if it makes the part everyone came for aka the levels worse.
i disagree on the minikits, a lot of the minikits in the original games were pretty sloppy. sometimes they would be frustating without red bricks, sometimes they would be just "blow up one silver door which you pass trough during the level". i had fun collecting almost all minikits in TSS by comparison, each one felt way more interesting
On my opinion that lego games were starting to go downhill after the released of the lego movie 2 videogame, I did enjoy lego 2K drive. Even though it wasn't made by TT games
I disagree, the open worlds in the Tt games were great and didn't distract from the story. the problem with the complete saga is it forces you to slog through these massive open worlds that they put way too much time into. imo the game would've been a lot better if they just did one or two medium sized hub worlds for each movie instead of 40 or however many they did.
Honestly Skywalker Saga is the only Lego game I don't like. They simplified all the abilities so essentially there were only like 7 characters from a gameplay perspective. I thought Lego Force Awakens was fun because they had multiple neat abilities for each main character that made each one play differently. Not to mention Skywalker Saga removed character customization, something that's been a part of the series since the 2nd game (even more insulting after how amazing DC Supervillains' character customization was).
Yeah, same. I've only played A New Hope and after trying only 2 levels from Force Awakens, I just ended up uninstalling the game because it didn't quite hit me with that (LEGO) Star Wars greatness like the Complete Saga did. It was when I started to get back into SW after trying Fallen Order for the first time 4 months ago. And you're right, the removal of character customization is a red flag as well.

I totally agree with you about The Skywalker Saga. It's not a bad game but it doesn't fell like a Lego Game, more like a simplified RPG with replayable events.
Perhaps my favourite thing about The Complete Saga was how every character felt unique even when they did the same things because of how much personality was placed in the animations of every character. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu, Yoda, Count Dooku, General Grievous, Ben Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and The Emperor all basically just hit people with lightsabers but they had completely different animations (most of which are based directly on moments from the films) which affected the weight and speed of their attacks. By comparison basically every lightsaber wielder in The Skywalker Saga feels the exact same to play, they don't all have the same animations but the differences are incredibly marginal compared to The Complete Saga. Even if you look at someone like Yoda he's just not holding a candle to the LEGO version and feels nothing like how he did in the films by comparison.
Are the animations all different and unique? I mean they reused a lot of death sounds in TCS, even Vader has a generic death sound. And their weight and speed mosttly felt the same, I mean maybe there is a difference? But I think then the same could be said for TSS because I know how characters like Maul were clearly more faster then others. I don't see how the differences are really more marginal...I mean did Dooku and Palpatine rreally feel that different from each other? Eh....Yoda feels different but he still feels like Yoda really, Yoda can be quick when he wants to you know.
@@Jdudec367 All the animations I listed are unique. Sidious and Dooku fight extremely differently. Palps is the only character without a super combo animation meanwhile Dooku arguably has the best super combo animations in the game which includes him doing the wrist flick from ROTS.
the reason the older lego games (not just lego starwars) are just better is cuz they were short but fun instead of boring long and mostly just the same gameplay the new ones have
Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga is prolly the second longest Lego game (possibly smaller than Skywalker saga). If we compare it to one of the newer games like Lego DC Supervillains, supervillains has 15 levels and 5 bonus mini levels. Complete Saga has 36 main levels, 6 bonus levels and 20 bounty hunter missions. Saying it was better cause it was shorter doesn't make much sense.
As a completionist, I absolutely loved TSS, 100% took about 60-70 hours without a guide iirc. Afterwards I spent about 20 hours modding in custom characters and posting them to nexus
11:19 I agree, the 3 is pointless. I've heard stories of people who have only played The Complete Saga, being absolutely confused why Lego Star Wars skipped the second game. Only to find out that there does exist a Lego Star Wars 2, thinking it's the sequel to The Complete Saga, only to get disappointed because it is literally the same game as The Complete Saga, but with less content, that being the lack of prequel levels.
In regards to Skywalker Saga, isn’t the game like the least Lego of the bunch? Like it honestly looks like your average third person game with a Lego skin slapped on to it. Also, I may know why it sold less: It may have something to do with those 3 movies that literally no one wants to acknowledge
I personally enjoyed my time with the Skywalker saga. It felt fresh, new, but still retained the Lego joy from years back. It wasn't perfect and did go on way too long. It also could've done without the open world aspect. But overall it's a solid game I'd give it a 6/10.
The lego games really felt less and less “Lego” like as they went on. In the earlier games characters got disassembled and building was important, but I feel if you removed the lego branding from Skywalker Saga you wouldn’t really change anything.
I don't think including levels for the sequels affected the game's sales, it was pretty much a given that they were going to feature them and it's not like anyone would've avoided the game because of them.
My whole thing with Lego games is they're at their best if it can be accurately described as "dumb fun." I don't know if this is a hot take or not, but personally, the more complex a Lego game is, the less I enjoy it. Now sure, Clone Wars and Force Awakens are still dumb and fun even with some extra mechanical depth and level variety, but Skywalker Saga? With it's needlessly enormous open world? And a fcking combo tree? In a _Lego game?_ Just... nah. I still like Skywalker Saga and love Clone Wars, but Complete Saga will _always_ be my first choice because it's just how a Lego game should be, simple.

Gonna be honest I really liked the skywalker saga, probably not as much at the complete saga but it was still very enjoyable for me, I 100%ted it a while ago and it took me around 100 hours, I don’t really get the claim that’s the gameplay felt repetitive (except for those attack the ship in space parts yea those were lame), I think each world introduced some fun challenges and unique scenario, and it really felt like a Lego game with the movement and variety of characters, and exploring all of these iconic worlds (yes even the new trilogy ones) was really fun. some follow this character missions were lame and again the space battle bits, but overall I had a great time, complete saga is probably better but I’m not going to let nostalgia get the better of me and say skywalker saga is a pretty good game too
As someone that loved the Complete Saga and didn’t like the Skywalker Saga, this video puts all my thoughts and feelings into one hilarious package. Great video!
someone who not only played the complete saga, but played it on the Wii of all platforms.. if only you had pirated it on a cracked Wii, then I could properly relate.... Though tbh, I never really viewed the game completely through rose tinted shades, at the time when I replayed the game tens of times, I had problems with it too. beyond just being an illiterate worm with english as my 2nd language, reading "continue" as "john-tin-nyooeh", I didn't really like how every bossfight was just double jumping and pressing attack, the main hub made me feel like a rat in a cage (amplified in the indiana jones' hub) and the camera was always sub-par... But the existance of the hot tub stormtroopers undid all of that so whatever. 3 WAS A BANGER THO, THROUGH AND THROUGH
i remember i got lego star wars 2 for christmas and my friend had lego star wars 1 and i was just so jealous of some of the characters he could play with (i grew up with the prequels)
As someone who finally 100%’d LSW: The Clone Wars after a couple days of nothing else to do, I still love this game to bits, but I can understand why certain parts would be boring or tedious, especially if you do 100%. For example: The RTS levels? They’re my favorite level type even as a kid, even though they’re all the same with minor elements changed based on the context of the level, but boy did the game test my unwavering opinion of them. Let’s dive into why. So, later in the game you unlock Ground Assault missions for the Separatists and the Republic. There’s one for each planet in the game on both sides, so already there’s about 12 missions for *each* side. These are timed missions with a mix of objectives: Escape Pod (conquer enough bases and build the escape pod to win), Destroy Command Post (locate the command post and either take out the ray shields protecting it or the bubble shield), Destroy All Buildings (self explanatory), and Destroy Three Statues. Now, I did all of these with the red brick Super Speeders enabled, as it allows the speeder to destroy silver and gold objects, but it’s not flawless as it can’t break gold shield generators fast enough before the enemy turns them back on, so don’t try it. Either way, SS makes most of them trivial. Back to the mission types: -Escape Pod is the easiest, just take over 9 bases until you unlock it and build it. Separatists have the majority of these. -Destroy Command Post is tedious mainly because it has insane health regeneration and you ‘aren’t allowed’ to destroy it by hand, as it never budges past 80% when whacking it, so you’re forced to use a vehicle. Luckily most of these missions have normal shield generators protecting the post, even if it has silver/gold ray shields pointed at it, so I always just dismount and head in to break it manually. Turning them off is pointless, the AI turns them back on too fast. A good 3/4s of the Separatists’ missions are this one. -Destroy All Buildings is also pretty easy, but again just don’t bother turning off shield generators unless they’re silver or gold. Most of the Republic’s missions are this one. -Lastly, Destroy Three Statues is the worst one. It’s basically the command post but multiplied, and the statues are normal, silver, and gold respectively on top of ray shields protecting them, and sometimes bubble shields protecting the ray shields on top of that. At least these ones are pretty sparse, but Republic has a couple of them. Why all this dissecting and ranting? Because if you want two of the characters for 100%, Palpatine and Tarkin, you have to have every planet on the map converted to the Republic or the Separatists respectively. But some Separatist missions are only unlocked after you do the Republic mission since the Separatists already own those planets, so some of them require you doing it *three times* depending on which faction you’re trying to paint on the map. I’m so glad I did Ground Assaults first cause if they were last I wouldn’t have the energy to finish the game- Oh, and the space levels were my least favorite level type since going around different heights of the level is kinda awkward and if you do something too early you could lock yourself out of a minikit and have to restart. Yay.
I found the new Skywalker Saga missing a lot of the comedic charm TCS had, plus I lost the ability to force lightning my friends outside of stupid combos.
The biggest crime in Skywalker Saga is the lack of character creation, it's been in every other game except the first and one of the most fun parts of playing it was unlocking pieces to add to them to get new abilities
The "puzzle" didn't change or anything, the reason it got boring is because you're older. It was fun to destroy every single block for a piece of stud, to figure out where to go, and 100% completed it. It's still the same (but they really need to bring back custom character)
The reason for the III is simple. Traveler's Tales just saw The Complete Saga as a remake of the first two Lego Star Wars games rather than a full-on sequel.
This is actually a pretty good take. The simplicity of the puzzles and downgrading of the freeplay areas made the Skywalker saga worse not better than the complete saga. In the complete saga, freeplay was actually interesting, but in the skywalker, it is way too easy to find the minikits and secret areas are not existent. Plus what is the three achievements mode thing about anyway?
Lego batman 1 is imo a game WITHOUT FLAW its truly the best lego game of all time... interesting and various level design including a different boss every level its i could go on for hours
Nostalgia…I loved the complete saga but I liked Lego Star Wars lll the clone wars more and I really enjoyed the newest one I think there is not a bad Lego Star Wars game
I dont care how long itrs been, im still sad we never got a character customizer in Skywalker Saga, there were so many unique pieces i wanted to use to create characters
As someone who played the original two games and The Complete Saga, I remember trying out and playing The Skywalker Saga for the first time, only to be turned off by it due to the overwhelming amount of things happening on screen at once and the complexity of it. The lack of simplicity in comparison to the original three games is what made me save my money from purchasing The Skywalker Saga. I'll stick to the old games.
I feel like Lego Skywalker Saga would've done a lot better if it was just a straight up remake of the original Complete Saga (with some obvious graphical and character design updates and bug and level design fixes) with the additional levels for episodes 7, 8, and 9.
the three things that make Skywalker Saga not as good as the complete saga is skill trees, health bars, and an over-reliance on voice acting. there's less slapstick because now they can just say stuff instead of miming or using props.
Agreed. Got the Skywalker Saga for pretty cheap recently, but the constant stream of long, rambling cutscenes that weren't very funny was pretty offputting. Redownloaded the Complete Saga and had a much better time.
@@matthewmoore5254 I honestly hate how people use this excuse to deflect from that criticism. No, the mumble mode is not a true 'return' to the mumbles, since it only replaces voices with mumbles. That's it. It doesn't change the cutscenes, it doesn't get rid of the snail-paced walking sections between levels, which means you get to hear characters mumble for a few minutes rather than speak and that's about it, so the fundamental issue with that excuse is that the game's comedy is different from the original through it primarily including lines from memes/misinterpreting quotes from the films and thus the game does not make an effort to make cutscenes fit to the classical mumbling style. Don't get me wrong, I get why that's the case and accept the rationale behind it (you need to progress game-making process someway) and don't fault TTGames for going down this route, but I wish people stopped being so defensive about TSS just because it tries to play off of nostalgia to the original Lego Star Wars games.
@@patrykpytka5071 I accept what you are saying here. I really enjoy what TT did here myself (I don't actually use mumble mode, I just enjoy the game for what it is). I do still love the originals, don't get me wrong. I also think they did justice to the originals in a lot of ways, as far as progress in the game mechanics and gameplay. I do agree that the game can be a bit lengthy however.
I think open world gameplay is a huge factor in what's killing the LEGO games. By having a central hub world and set levels, it made the gameplay tighter and everything you can interact with closer. Whereas in The Skywalker Saga there's so much trekking and flying to get to locations with very little to interact with and it can become a little boring. LEGO Racers 2 had the exact same problem. They chose to prioritise the open world aspect and that's why it's dull in comparison to the first one.
I will always love Lego games before voices came in. Mumbles was just better in my opinion, it added to the dumb comedy plus you could imagine what they're saying. I was happy when they added mumble mode to the Sky Walker Saga but that's all I could give the game.
i have like 200 hours in skywalker saga on steam, and i do agree on some things (skill trees are pointless, the combat is still too easy, not enough platforming and puzzles) i do have to disagree on the open worlds. while yes it is true it does feel liek theres too many collectables and it can be overwhelming, the majority of them take so little time to collect it doesnt really matter, while the more interesting stuff like unlocking characters and ships usually is an longer more interesting side quest. Reminds me a lot of mario odyssey actually, the open world is split into many locations some smaller some larger, with collectables scattered around with most of them being very simple to get while some take you on a longer journey. although skywalker saga doesnt have its mechanics fleshed out nearly as well as odyssey i think the format of a collectathon with most of the collectables are pretty common is really interesting and nice. i do also think you missed some points like the roster of characters not being all that unique with most of the characters being just copies of the other ones in their "class" outside of the animations and voice lines, which are quite nice but i do miss the uniqueness of characters in clone wars or force awakens. good video, just wish you went more in depth.
For me I love all Lego Star Wars games from Lego Star Wars 1, 2, The Complete Saga, 3 The Clone Wars, The Force Awakens and The Skywalker Saga. All Lego Star Wars games were fun and great in their own rights and I’ve had tons of fun with all of them. Yes from a nostalgia point of view the older ones were better I.E. The Complete Saga with its awesome level design and very simplistic gameplay but from a modern point of view, the newer ones were better I.E. The Skywalker Sage as it has great hub worlds with plenty of exploration and with great third person shooter/rpg gameplay as well. For me no Lego Star Wars game is perfect and things could’ve been better in all of them, but at the end of the day, they’re all awesome and I’ll happily play all of them again and again. ⭐️ #LegoStarWars
The only thing I complain for lego Star Wars the skywalker saga is the challenges but the minikits from 10 to 5 was an amazing change I love it and for the gold bricks from 10 to 6 was an excellent change in my opinion the only thing I would complain is why lego Star Wars the skywalker saga has level challenges that players have to challenge for points and i don’t get it at all. But still an amazing lego video game 🎮 which is amazing but for the level challenges in my opinion says. And every time when I have to deal with challenges in the hub world or even in the level is just nonsense I don’t understand it at all.
I had a nostalgia trip through Lego Indiana Jones 2, and that one is not as good as the first one. Got me to pick this one up tho because I know this one is goatd
When I saw that Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga had gameplay that was NOTHING Like the older Lego games I didn't wanna play any new Lego Star Wars games anymore...
lego starwars 1,2 complete saga had passion. 3 is okay but afterward it was INSERT VOICE EVERYWHERE AND DO STALE COMEDY WITH VOCALS. while making the games for 2 year olds. skywalker saga as i know now was rushed to kingdom come and the team was crunched so the game is just awful and I refuse to support warner bros anymore for that. dont support skywalker saga.

Gonna be honest I really liked the skywalker saga, probably not as much at the complete saga but it was still very enjoyable for me, I 100%ted it a while ago and it took me around 100 hours, I don’t really get the claim that’s the gameplay felt repetitive (except for those attack the ship in space parts yea those were lame), I think each world introduced some fun challenges and unique scenario, and it really felt like a Lego game with the movement and variety of characters, and exploring all of these iconic worlds (yes even the new trilogy ones) was really fun.
some follow this character missions were lame and again the space battle bits, but overall I had a great time, complete saga is probably better but I’m not going to let nostalgia get the better of me and say skywalker saga is a pretty good game too
3:45 actually that impression blew my ears away, thanks for asking 👍
To be honest, old Lego games have more charm to them. Now, it's more of an open world with lots of missions to do after completing story mode.
Lego Star Wars The Sky Walker Saga is the most bloated game I’ve ever 100% completed.
It’s not worth it. Don’t do it you’ll go insane.
I didn't even get 1 hub done, it might have been lego game burn out or maybe the game is just pants.
Lok Durd my beloved
i had a weird obsession with getting the droid things to shoot eachother back then
Lego star wars 3 so clone wars was the first ever game i played when i was like 5 or 6
It is still pretty gud
I loved Lego Star Wars as a kid, sad to see the state it’s in today
3 WAS A BANGER THO, THROUGH AND THROUGH
23:49 I want this! Plus new levels for The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise Of Skywalker in the style of The Complete Saga.
some of my favorite games ever are lego games but playing through the skywalker saga i just felt so bored i expected so much more
I found this video through the "hawk to a skibbydee" tweet
i remember i got lego star wars 2 for christmas and my friend had lego star wars 1 and i was just so jealous of some of the characters he could play with (i grew up with the prequels)
The editing is really gut
i hate the skywalker sagas jetpacks its like 3 seconds of flying and back on the ground
I just recently bought the complete sage acter 10 years of not playing, and man its great
As someone who finally 100%’d LSW: The Clone Wars after a couple days of nothing else to do, I still love this game to bits, but I can understand why certain parts would be boring or tedious, especially if you do 100%. For example:
The RTS levels?
Back to the mission types:
-Escape Pod is the easiest, just take over 9 bases until you unlock it and build it.
I’m so glad I did Ground Assaults first cause if they were last I wouldn’t have the energy to finish the game-
Oh, and the space levels were my least favorite level type since going around different heights of the level is kinda awkward and if you do something too early you could lock yourself out of a minikit and have to restart.
Honey wake up, mewze just posted
I *really* loved the complete saga as kid. As in I had over 2,000 hours on one of several of my save files and still never 100 percented the game.
The MewZe has awoken
goat is BACK!! I really like this video I hope it gets the traction it deserves
They could never make me hate you Skywalker saga
I remember back in the day I would keep killing Jar Jar over and over again cause I thought the death sound was THAT funny
I will fight till the ends of the earth to protect the name of lego games. Especially all lego star wars games
Really, who is going to pay for a worse version of the 6 films they already got. Plus the terrible Disney 3.
Waste of money
Goethe: "It is in self-limitation that a master first shows himself."
I used to have this game when I was a kid, my parents threw it out because I wouldn't stop playing it
Good times, good times
Your parents suck dude
The sidequests in the Skywalker Saga are just the same 5 just recycled over and over again
A hawk to a skibbydee
Lego batman 1 is imo a game WITHOUT FLAW its truly the best lego game of all time... interesting and various level design including a different boss every level its i could go on for hours
Nostalgia…I loved the complete saga but I liked Lego Star Wars lll the clone wars more and I really enjoyed the newest one I think there is not a bad Lego Star Wars game
you know its a sigma day when MewZe uploads
I dont care how long itrs been, im still sad we never got a character customizer in Skywalker Saga, there were so many unique pieces i wanted to use to create characters
lego mewze game when
Great vid man HAHHAH "they vapin in here"
As someone who played the original two games and The Complete Saga, I remember trying out and playing The Skywalker Saga for the first time, only to be turned off by it due to the overwhelming amount of things happening on screen at once and the complexity of it. The lack of simplicity in comparison to the original three games is what made me save my money from purchasing The Skywalker Saga. I'll stick to the old games.
Did anybody noticed the noise that's c3po made when he was crushed? 😂
i loved force awakens. i liked it more than the complete saga
Babe wake up new MewZe video dropped
Lego star wars: clone wars, is an underrated goat
HE FINALLY UPLOADED!!!!!!
Next video "The rise and fall of MewZe" (this is just a joke i love your content)
This deserve a KRILLION views
Came out of this hoping to find out if I should buy the new game or not, I'm still not sure
I do not want my hand held, I want to fight people in the hubs, and I sure want a custom character creator
3:18 fr it was my favourite
I feel like Lego Skywalker Saga would've done a lot better if it was just a straight up remake of the original Complete Saga (with some obvious graphical and character design updates and bug and level design fixes) with the additional levels for episodes 7, 8, and 9.
LEGENDARY VIDEO
the three things that make Skywalker Saga not as good as the complete saga is skill trees, health bars, and an over-reliance on voice acting. there's less slapstick because now they can just say stuff instead of miming or using props.
Agreed. Got the Skywalker Saga for pretty cheap recently, but the constant stream of long, rambling cutscenes that weren't very funny was pretty offputting. Redownloaded the Complete Saga and had a much better time.
@@VHuntrD So enable mumble mod. It's literally right there.
I don’t what people were thinking when they said they didn’t want your face in your videos… I was thinking you looked gorgeous
Bro knew about hawk tuah and skibidy before everyone else
My man's literally got MEW in the name

I think open world gameplay is a huge factor in what's killing the LEGO games.
By having a central hub world and set levels, it made the gameplay tighter and everything you can interact with closer. Whereas in The Skywalker Saga there's so much trekking and flying to get to locations with very little to interact with and it can become a little boring.
LEGO Racers 2 had the exact same problem. They chose to prioritise the open world aspect and that's why it's dull in comparison to the first one.
Idk but clone wars was fun game
I will always love Lego games before voices came in. Mumbles was just better in my opinion, it added to the dumb comedy plus you could imagine what they're saying.
I was happy when they added mumble mode to the Sky Walker Saga but that's all I could give the game.
5:37 *GASP* DARK VADER
RAHH MEWZE POSTED ITS A GOOD DAY 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥‼️‼️
I like the plants vs zombies background music
i have like 200 hours in skywalker saga on steam, and i do agree on some things (skill trees are pointless, the combat is still too easy, not enough platforming and puzzles) i do have to disagree on the open worlds.
while yes it is true it does feel liek theres too many collectables and it can be overwhelming, the majority of them take so little time to collect it doesnt really matter, while the more interesting stuff like unlocking characters and ships usually is an longer more interesting side quest.
Skywalker saga actually did well tho, it was in the top 5 highest selling games of 2022
For me I love all Lego Star Wars games from Lego Star Wars 1, 2, The Complete Saga, 3 The Clone Wars, The Force Awakens and The Skywalker Saga. ⭐️
#LegoStarWars
The only thing I complain for lego Star Wars the skywalker saga is the challenges but the minikits from 10 to 5 was an amazing change I love it and for the gold bricks from 10 to 6 was an excellent change in my opinion the only thing I would complain is why lego Star Wars the skywalker saga has level challenges that players have to challenge for points and i don’t get it at all. But still an amazing lego video game 🎮 which is amazing but for the level challenges in my opinion says. And every time when I have to deal with challenges in the hub world or even in the level is just nonsense I don’t understand it at all.
i got a star wars ad before this lol
I had a nostalgia trip through Lego Indiana Jones 2, and that one is not as good as the first one. Got me to pick this one up tho because I know this one is goatd
Nah lego clone wars is goated bro I can't lie especially the battle sections
Glowing green orb? ☠️ 4:52
MeZe it’s easy revenge of the sith level has entered the chat
