Congrats on Father hood! And good to see your madness wasn't for nothing. You got 6 shiny wooloo and all the time in the world to watch them roll Much love
Congratulations man! It's crazy to think you and Renae are parents now considering I've been watching you pretty much since I got access to TH-cam. Here's to many more years and hopefully more appearances from Young Link in the future. :)
Congratulations on your new baby! That was such a sweet surprise to see in the video. When they announced the Shiny Wooloo event last weekend, I immediately thought about your attempt to get your original Shiny Wooloo, so getting this sequel video was a cool surprise too. I didn't really find out about the refreshing the list of seeking Max Raid Battles until earlier this year myself. It still can be tedious and difficult to find and join Raids, especially in these events, but that trick helps out the process a lot. I'm also glad that you didn't release the Shiny Wooloo. Not only because they're so cute, but also because releasing Shiny Pokemon after struggling to get them would be kind of sad.
I appreciate the actual analysis of these events. Most people see "2% shiny" and say it's way too easy, that shinies mean nothing anymore. I'd wager not a single one of those people have actually hunted multiple of these events. These aren't your average 3 per minute encounters, it actively costs resources to continue rolling for the tiny chance that the raid will actually be your target, and then there's the shiny chance itself. And if it's not shiny? The raid takes at least a few minutes just to defeat a single pokemon, and that's assuming you either have a team of real players, or animations turned off with not entirely incompetent NPCs. Now multiply that entire process for whatever the shiny odds are to get the _average_ length of your hunt. As someone who *only just* found the shiny from the Eiscue event from *over a month ago* I wish I had just masuda'd for it. 127 raids was the final total, well and truly over a thousand Wishing Pieces and I had to skip the Meowth and the Wooloo events entirely just to keep hunting the penguin. The only way these events are "easy free shinies" is if you take the easy way out, join the raids of the people that did the work. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course, the value of shinies is completely subjective and the only important thing is if the owner feels proud of their accomplishment. I just personally want to put in all the effort myself.
Even joining raids online takes some effort (though less than finding them in your own game) because refreshing the Y-Comm is clunky and the 5 star raids get full very fast. The raids you're looking for don't even appear in the Y-Comm all the time so you have to wait for one to appear, constantly refreshing. Even when you do get in a raid, there's no guarantee it will be shiny, it's only guaranteed if you have a friend who found a shiny raid.
Congratulations Jwittz! I've been following your channel since I was 10 to 11 years old, and now I'm about to turn 20 in a few months. I used to watch all your videos (including your gaming and vlog channels). You were always my favorite youtuber growing up. Once you switched primarily to Twitch, I slowly stopped watching your other contents, but I still occasionally came back to watch your vids (which worked considering how you only posted every so often) I'm very happy to see you doing so well! Keep being awesome!
Please don’t tell me he’s going to shiny hunt Wooloo again and simultaneously spend 100+ hours while losing his mind on a black sheep that’s in a video game.
@@skarloey1214 Buddy, I've been playing since gen 1. The series has gone downhill. When the only good alternative to a game is the rom hacks of older games in the series, you have failed as a developer to innovate and add meaningful content.

In regards to the Repeat Ball failing, we already know that ever since Skwovet's event last year they've been editing the catch chance for the shiny raids in particular. More specifically, the hosting player of a shiny event raid is guaranteed to catch, no matter what ball you use. Hosts always had better catch odds, but now it's set in stone for the shiny ones. On the other hand, it also seems like they've intentionally nerfed the most powerful pokeballs that are a guest's ball of choice, i.e the Repeat Ball. Despite it easily reaching 100% chance with these recent 255 catch rate mons, they break out more often than not. If I had to guess, I'd say it's a way of trying to incentivise players to hunt their own shiny raid given, as you showed in the video, joining Y-Comm raids is not only insanely faster, it's free. No breaking the bank for thousands of Wishing Pieces when you can just join someone else. But, if my theory is correct, investing those Watts and a much longer period of time guarantees you catch it, and you even get to choose a fancy ball regardless of catch effectiveness.
I did the exact same thing on my first playthrough of Y. I was lucky enough to find a Riolu almost immediately when I entered Route 22. I wound up sticking with the wild-caught Lucario and boxed the free one, mainly because I'd already bonded with him and he had a better nature.
I really wonder what JWittz feels knowing that the shiny method in sword and shield isn't actually broken, just that we didn't know it only raises the chances for brilliant pokemon rather than the normal ones. He wouldn't have suffered finding that shiny if we knew that two years ago.
