Jeff - you are a rich man. You have a gold mine, immense knowledge of geology, and most of all you have Lila. Beautiful with a sprit of adventure. I wish you both the best.
Happy to see you're OK after that big step. Nice to see you and yours enjoying the adventures together. Brings memories of my wife and I back in the day.
Years ago rock climbing we would hang the pack / bivi sack below us on vertical descents clipped onto our harness... After the were invented. At first we built our own harness from a long piece of sling material. The perlon type rope was a big upgrade from the gold line three strand rope that was popular in the early '60s.
I love your wife. She always makes me smile because she seems like such a happy soul. I also enjoy how you two work well together and have adventures. 👏🏻💗
Love the vids.... gratz to Lila and her rope skills... you too Jeff, hope you're not too banged up from your fall. All the best to you Lila and the whole crew!
Very cool Jeff ! Best of luck to you and your fellow miners. It was nice seeing a new "old school" wooden ladder going down the shaft..... even if it did look awkward getting it down. Thanks for sharing.
Did someone else go down that shaft before Lila to make sure there were no hazards? When rappelling with long exposures I prefer to belay as a back-up. Rappelling is one of the most dangerous activity mountain climbing because if your equipment fails you fall especially during rock fall. Looked like some nice Au there.
“Gly”: Holy cow Jeff! I’m really happy you’re ok, that was a pretty good tumble you took there. You’re right, complacency will get ya, especially in these kinds of places and accidents can happen in a split second. It was good to see more of your mine but most importantly I’m just happy you’re ok. Take care!
Awesome. Where the rail went into that pile, beyond there was the way into the leaser. Looks like a lot has caved through the years. Great explore. Much larger specimens are down there. We didn't brush them off. We'd carefully get them to the surface where we would lightly wash and make sure they would stay affixed. Think about it and you'll figure out what we used. After concentration I'd melt and cupel. Much more values recovered. Sometimes I wish I was there. Even looked into rentals. Not much around.
Hi Richard, we thought so .....yes a lot has come down ...we dropped the air shaft of the M&M and the stopes are all caved .... we have seen much larger further down .....we noticed the Gold falls off of them real easy .....we don't need a collector metal as the wulfenite reduces to lead ....would love to have you out again.....got another guy here in the comments ( M.E. ) says he use to work with you and has additional info ...says hoist is still in town off of main street ( buried ) ....let us know when you can make it out again and we will get out there .
That was amazing. How many gold mines do you have? I was just visiting Oatman...the burros say, "Hi, Jeff"!!!! I wandered around the hills and was just amazed at all of the minerals! Thanks for your video telling me about it. Can't wait to get back adventuring. Chloride was always fun to visit also. Thanks Jeff...
Just watched this one again 😄 I was chuckling and smiling all the way through, that was a fun day. Everyone did so well getting down that shaft, with the equipment too! Unless you try it, you just don't realise how hard it is to abseil down an inclined shaft without bringing the whole lot with ya, that's the trick. Must admit the opening and closing scenes were obviously the best parts...! 😆 That gold looks amazing, such a rich little vein. Wooo-hooo, let's GO...!

I could have warned you that track was loose since I put it there years ago. Did Richard tell you there's a couple of dead miners over in the bottom of the M&M mine? I could show you where there's a open stope over by the assay office that leads into the M&M or you could look around for it you'll probably find it. P.S. That pipe was old when I went down it in 85 so I'm glad you didn't get hurt. I still have all the samples I took back then in canvas bags in the old shed never did assay them.
Hi Jeff. So you explored an old mine, that looks like it has been abandoned for years and made a new claim on a gold vein inside. Is that correct?
