I am amazed that window is not considered a hazard and replaced. That is probably the worst scratched up window I have ever seen....glad it did not pop out in flight!
Dudde loved the short one from Asheville to CLT my best friend used to live there. He moaved to SEA and I did get to go see him in June for his birthday. Firs Class is the way to go. CLT is my home...Peace
I flew all over the world from that airport back in the mid-1990s. USAIR (the AA predecessor) flew both big jets and DeHaviland props into the airport. The prop planes were an adventure. Very few delays. Enjoyed it very much,,
Time to retire that plane. As soon as you get up you start coming down on that trip. I worked at AVL in the 90s. The terminal is bigger now, believe it or not. Back then there were two gates upstairs. Most flights were to Charlotte and Atlanta. I'm glad they have direct flights to most of the country now.
Have a flight (10/12) from TRI (small airport), but suitable in our area of Tennessee (north of Asheville) to CLT then onward to DFW. Looking forward to it. Enjoyed your review.
when Piedmont was flying they brought 727s and 737s in there Ozark had DC-9s and FH-227s from springfield il to StLouis and they only got to 11,000 plus they served drinks on the flt & its not the age of the a/c it looks like it hasn't been in maint. in a while plus the scenes at the beginning were awesome
This particular airline jet is for now the largest here in my city. They have just upgraded our airport so I believe they will have the DC 9 flying here at some point in the near future. Good video.
the shortest flight i was on was Orlando - Fort Myers just 30 minutes flying time plus 20 min takeoff to touch down. any other short flights youve been on? also ive done those tight connections which suck you basically have to run if your in one concourse to the other like i did one time from Orlando To Hartford via Atlanta my connecting gate was one concourse away in atlanta and i only had a 30 min connection.
Flying outa Charlotte for Denver on July 2nd. Been a while, don’t know what to expect flying in a COVID world. The only thing I do know: the taxi will be horrible
Hi Jazzguy! Another great video, really enjoyed it. This really is a very short flight haha, how many flights do they have on this route a day? Shame about the worn cabin and scratched window! Brendan
Ashville is a small airport. It appears that its runway is not equipped to handle any aircrafts bigger than 737s or A320s. I didn't see any 777s or A350s there, and nobody will
at least you werent on southwest that would suck being an A boarding pass but board in the Bs because you were late getting to the gate from a delayed connect flight
sometimes ive heard stories of people flying American airlines tight connection sometimes right there sometimes other side of the airport they miss their flight due to previous flight delayed dont hold the plane and have to spend the night somewhere and expired coupons to a hotel away from the airport
I live in Winston-Salem NC ..... AND AS A NATIVE NORTH CAROLINIAN I HAVE TO SAY THIS IS THE DUMBEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN....... It only takes an hour to drive from Asheville to Charlotte 🤦♂️.....u could have just driven
fly to omaha sometime please on southwest airlines pittsburgh to chicago midway to omaha and visit the zoo and listen to jazz music aka jazz on the green next summer
Too bad Southwest doesn't offer this route at deeply discounted rates. There would be less open-mouthed coughing, shorts and flip flops wearing, blight upon humanity persons, on these flights. Hell, you could even drunkenly stagger on-board and fist-fight a flight attendant.
I am amazed that window is not considered a hazard and replaced. That is probably the worst scratched up window I have ever seen....glad it did not pop out in flight!
Absolutely awesome Trip Report! I love watching trip reports from small airports. Big Like 👍

I’m going on my first plane on January 7 and I’m flying to Orlando for a few days I can’t wait!!
hope you enjoyed Orlando! My hometown
I flew all over the world from that airport back in the mid-1990s. USAIR (the AA predecessor) flew both big jets and DeHaviland props into the airport. The prop planes were an adventure. Very few delays. Enjoyed it very much,,
Dave Bones I think they flew the Dash 8 between AVL and CLT back in the day. And it was more like 30-35 minutes not 20 in a CRJ.
15 extra minutes is worth it for the prop plane experience

Great video, entertaining to see a little craziness in a late flight and a connecting flight
Thanks! Will continue in the next vid ;)
I’m originally from North Carolina. I have relatives who live near Asheville, and Charlotte was my old hometown!
15:30 NO WAY! No traffic backup on I-26?!?!? WOW! That's a first in several years!

TRI is my local airport too! It’s so tiny!
@@jkeelsnc yeah, but a lot bigger than TRI. TRI is basically a short hallway with a tall ceiling.

I remember Non Revg on 727s from AVL to CLT. And the flights were full. The good old days.
This particular airline jet is for now the largest here in my city. They have just upgraded our airport so I believe they will have the DC 9 flying here at some point in the near future. Good video.
Not sure where you are but DC-9s are nonexistent in the US. Gotta get rides now on 717s and MD88/90s while you can before they go away too
Great video man 👏👏👏😊
Amazing trip report! I was so happy when I saw the Lehigh Valley flight, that's was hometown airport.
Thanks a lot! Haha cool mate!
Delta FlyerHD ABE has also been my home airport for the last 8 years. Definitely would rather have a layover at CLT than PHL.
At 3:00, you guys are all traveling with Cellos? Could you make a video showing your experiences doing that, how different airlines treat it, etc?
Love that rainbow it’s so beautiful from 16:10 to 16:47 🌈
I noticed the safety audio was presented by the late great Actor James Garner. At least it sounded a lot like him.
Great video as always. Beautiful photos and videos at the beginning! You finally got to fly on something instead of the 175 and 195! 😂
Thank you! Lol yah, but I still got a ton of E175s coming up in future vids :D
Mentioning the Smokey Mountains, I can't help but remember that old country song Smokey Mountain Rain, from around 1980
why was the MD80 painted in the modern scheme and not in chrome lol
I have been to Asheville airport and it’s small cute and easy to use!!

Besides this one, probably shortest I've done was BWI to PHL on AA which you could also find on my channel :) Yah MCO to RSW is pretty short as well
Cool t storm on final approach
15:24 That would've been an awesome picture had the window not been as destroyed as it was.
I know man, tell me about it :/
I'm in Raleigh so close by and Asheville is nice but not much to do!
I've never seen a plane window not even half as scratched as that one is, the heck made it that bad? :P
Guessing the A320 is your flight home? ;)
Yah this was by far the worst I've ever seen. And nope, A319 :)
Flying outa Charlotte for Denver on July 2nd. Been a while, don’t know what to expect flying in a COVID world. The only thing I do know: the taxi will be horrible
Awaiting question:
Did he make his connecting flight?🤞
Suspense 😬
He did.
I’ve flown from Rickenbacker to Orlando on Allegiant and they only have 2 gates
That’s white side mountain that you were on in the first part of the vid wasn’t it?
How many gift shops does Asheville Airport have????
Have you been on every single airline there is. Because I never seen all of them before.
its 92 miles by air from ashville to clt (it shows in video leaving 7:10 arriving 8:20) ?????
A tree-topper, huh? I don't fly on Eagle flights having done that once in a short trip to Newark. I almost lost my mind.
Hi Jazzguy!

Taking one of these in a couple of months
Did American and PSA merge?
I would like to visit Asheville
Tru H it’s a great city, just stay away from the the homeless people.
The brick on the wall reminds me of HPN (Westchester County Airport) as in the area where the jet bridge area its mostly brick on the wall.
It reminds me of TYS (Knoxville). I believe they actually were mimicking TYS during the construction of AVL.
In most cases if you pay for a carry on your boarding zone will be 2-3 because of the bin space.
Nice

That nosegear toutchdown hurt just to listen to.
Is AVL-CLT shorter than ABE-PHL?
No probably ABE-PHL would be shorter
What about ORD-MKE
I’ve flown both (although AVL-CLT over 30 years ago) and ABE-PHL is shorter. In a CRJ it’s an 18 minute flight.
Word of advice for next time...schedule a long layover if you can.
flights a 1 hour and 15 but the drive is 2 hours....
