My amazing audience seems to really enjoy when I travel around and see new sights and eat great food. So I decided to create a new mini series about traveling from Canada to Jacksonville, Florida.
We’ll start in Buffalo New York, fly to Fort Lauderdale Hollywood airport, spend a day and a half in Jacksonville, Fly to Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina then back in Buffalo where I'll be stealth camping in the parking lot.
This is part 7 of my trip to Florida where I'm headed home back to Canada. I'm starting at Jacksonville International Airport and headed to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, NC where I have a 2 hour layover. While in Charlotte, I'll look around the airport and find a couple restaurants to eat dinner at. I'll first grab some food from Wow Bao and then hit up a seafood place called Phillips Seafood. After I eat I jump on a plane headed back to Buffalo where I'll sleep in the airport parking lot for the night.

The audio is awful during the actual food review. Highly suggest investing in a lav mic.

Been watching you for years now ken, but what is happening with your content?, it seems like you literally do not care about the stuff you post on this channel now. How did you go from awesome stealth camps / actual food travel videos / exploring random mom and pop shops around towns in canada, to this? you basically went to florida to eat in airports, looking like you hate every single minute of it. you seem SO much happier on the vlog channel these last few months

The "Bao" in Wow Bao is pronounced like B + out without the t. There is a movie in 2018 called "Bao", apparently it's very good.

The Dallas, TX (DFW) airport has a restaurant called Pappadeaux Seafood. They used to have crab cakes on their menu but do not anymore, Sadly. They were the best crab cakes I have ever had. They were 90% crab and 10% panko bread (only on the outside) instead of 90% breading and 10% crab. It came with crispy onion straws and capers. It's probably been 3 years since I have had one but I think about them often lol.

Really good food is always a surprise when you’re eating in an airport. Airline travel is not what it used to be…in other words, enjoyable. I eat at Carolina Pit BBQ for breakfast at the Charlotte NC Airport when I fly up to Wisconsin on the morning flight. It’s a good breakfast, but usually a long line. You just pick what you want cafeteria-style. I eat at Bojangles on the evening flight back. 😊
How long does it take you to get back to Canada where you live from the Buffalo NY Airport?
Love Charlotte. Downtown n Southend are great. Always have fun there. Lots of construction. Booming downtown(they call it Uptown). I’m gonna say downtown lol.
Lived in Charlotte for over 60 years. Never heard of neither one of those restaurants I guess they’re only at the airport.
Walmart sells the Wow Bao frozen buns...they are really good.
As a NC native, we will all tell you: Definitely try Cookout and Bojangles! Bojangles has some of the best cajun food/fried chicken and Cookout has some of the best burgers + shakes ever.. get a burger tray with a chicken quesadilla and cheerwine!

I fly frequently and hate that most sit down restaurants close or run out of food by 8pm. You'd think with all the people in and out of there flying waaaaay past 8pm they'd stay open and also be more prepared.

Missing the stealth camping , Ken. The airport restaurant sampling is ok but really enjoy your reviews at various eateries in small villages because it gives good advertising for mom n pop places. You should’ve gone to Midwood Smokehouse! That is a proper bbq spot. NC is known for bbq, and Midwood is one of the better restaurants. Come to CLT and do a food tour. You will not be disappointed!!

I clicked on here cause I had a stopover at Charlotte airport. Curious what other people get. I ended up getting Bojangles. And from other comments. Looks like it was good choice. I wanted to the Carolina BBQ pit. But the menu there didn't seem very authentic Carolina bbq. So I skipped it.
