I've been keeping tabs on a couple of these figures and it's nuts. Archive Anakin Skywalker is baseline £70 on eBay over here and clone commander Obi is normal in the 100 range. Hopefully they re-re-release the Anakin fig as ep 3 Obi is out this year.
I have the archive anakin and it's a great figure,sucks you can't get it but if you do enjoy it, it's defiantly one of my fav black series figs alongside grievous and boba
I remember going into a Walgreens a few years back and finding a Clone Commander Kenobi figure in stock. In fact, that store had a couple of them. I wasn’t big into collecting at that point, but I knew it was a Walgreens exclusive. I ultimately decided to pass on the figure because I didn’t think it’d be worth buying one. I had seen the Walgreens exclusive Vader figure pegwarm at my store for a long time, and I figured the same would happen with kenobi. This still gives me nightmares
Always buy the named Clones. I have all of the Clone Commanders/Captain Rex, and even though most of them will eventually get a rerelease, they make a nice set and will all be in the hundreds at one point or another. I didn’t know about the rumors of Cara Dune coming back, that’s exciting. Even though I’ll watch the shows regardless, that whole situation makes me a little mad whenever I think of the character or why we don’t have a S2 figure.
Fortunately I bought every single one of these when they were first released! Multiples of most of them too. I found the first edition Mando on Force Friday, traded it to a friend and then ended up trading my Sideshow Commander Wolfe just to get it back. I felt like Mando when he gave up Grogu and went back for him after regretting his decision lol.

I remember I grabbed 2 Slave Leia's that went on clearance at Target for $5 each. Got them home and just didn't like them so I brought them back to the store. That is still my biggest Black Series mistake.

@@CosminNeagu yeah, I read you on this. In the UK though, very few brick and mortar shops sells them. My nearest place is just over 15 miles away, and I'd have to pay expensive city car parking. No guarantee the figures I want are actually there. And the Bad Batch Amazon four-pack was sold out in minutes. So missed them. Also bummed out that we can only get General Merrick if you also buy his X-wing. I just want the figure! But I have my sympathies with you, lots of countries around the world have far less access to Hasbro Star Wars figures than we do in the UK. But this does all come around to the fact that Hasbro distribution does suck. 😢

I remember buying Fox at B&N a few years ago. Back then they couldn't move the guy for $22. Got mine for $17. I got Super lucky with Captain Rex. Found one early last year (for $20) in a Clone Commander Obi Wan box behind some Peg warmers at Walgreens. Best mispackaged figure find of all time.
There were STACKS of that clone commander Kenobi at my Walgreens, I was about to purchase like 8 of them but didn’t because I was a little low on cash 😭

I've definitely seen a few of these in the wild and passed on them as well, but I had no particular attachments to the characters or figures so you shouldn't feel too bad about doing the same...there's no shame in not collecting something regardless of potential value

Awesome upload! I’ve commented before on previous videos that luck plays a huge part in finding some of these figures. I have the red and white Mandalorian and the Walgreens Obi-Wan and Cody. I swapped the head with help of some poster tack over to the orange line ROTS Obi Wan. It looks great. Did the same with archive line Anakin Sith head and original Anakin so I have good and evil versions! Where is Jedi Luke on the list?

Bought Rex about 2 years ago from a FB marketplace seller that we met halfway. At the time he was asking for $15 and since that's when the whole 2nd wave archive came out (was super lucky to find anakin at a gamestop across from where I used to work), I really wanted his captain for completion-ist sake. So when we met up, asked again if it was $15 and confirmed, handed him a $20 since didn't have exact amount (and also thinking he would just give the difference) and said he didn't have change. So since we had met at a barnes & nobles, my first instinct was to go get change but the guy told me that he only had a moment to sell and would need to go run some errands. Not a moment after, just told him to keep the change since upon looking at the box, was unopened, and had thought that I would just be paying retail price without the tax. After we parted ways, was so stoked in having him and if I recall was my 2nd clone figure I had, after buying Commander Gree at TRU on release. From then on, I just saw how Rex went skyrocketing in price and more so for the Hascon exclusive. Till this day, love seeing my Rex figure right beside archive anakin and next up archive obi-wan.
Awesome video, I'm in that Black Series camp of collectors. I grabbed my Obi-Wan on the Walgreens site at that incredibly low price you showed. Pure luck. I kick myself for not grabbing Doctor Aphra in January 2020 when I saw her at a Texas Gamestop. She just keeps getting more expensive. I did find the White Box Mandalorian for $19.99 in November 2019, just wanted the figure as I never thought about it becoming some astronomically priced boxed figure. Tossed the box into recycling.
I am so happy I grabbed the Archive Commander Cody. I knew that if I didn't pick it up I'd never see it again and thank God I did. I have never seen it in the stores since.

Re: that #1 special edition Mandalorian figure in white box, that was the very first figure I caved and bought from a scumbag eBay scalper. At the time, I managed to find all the other white box figures except for the Mandalorian, which had the local scalpers in a frenzy going store-to-store wiping them all out. My OCD was driving me nuts that I didn’t have it, so I went to eBay where they were all located. I want to say at the time I only paid $40 for it, so looking back it was a bargain. Now it’s one of the most expensive figures.

I found my Clone Commander very recently at a Walgreens that had 2 on the shelf. I had even left him on several occasions while fighting with myself on getting him at that time. I pulled the trigger when I thought the figure was bought but it had just been moved
I have the first edition mando figure, paid retail for it. Found him along with the rest of the first edition wave at a local record/collectable shop. They usually don’t carry black series but they got the wave.
I have 7 of these figures in the box and yes I bought all of the cheap $ 24.99. I even found the obi-wan at a Walgreens in Queens , NY . I gotta love the city it has everything . Now I'm got get that trooper at Walgreens

In the UK, there was a weird “re-release” of Dengar so the price went from ~£70 to ~£30. I have a red and black box Rex without the black paint on the visor ;)
Glad you’re back, Matt. I actually have most of the figures on your list and I was lucky enough to get them for around $20 each. The notable exceptions I’m missing are the First Edition Mando and Bad Batch Rex. At this point, all I care about is getting Rex for a reasonable price.

I remember seeing one of them at Walgreen's and I even picked up the box and thought it looked cool in white, but I had zero idea what it was at the time so I put it back. Chump move on my part!
@@ChrisBurnham haha yea so it was a complete disaster on hasbros part. they didnt make it clear when or where to buy them. but it turned out that the first editions were only available on force friday, but no, they werent technically exclusives. some walmarts got them, and some targets as well i think. and then places like gamestop and walgreens got some too but like you said they would get like 1 and it would be random which one each walgreens or gamestop store got. and the disney store got stacks of the whole wave which really wasnt advertised. so yea, i did a lot of driving that day.
Right now im in asia and i managed to get some figs at these prices: archive anakin - 36$ orig release rex - 53$ right now in my countrys market cody, cara dune, and qui gon are still doing okay at a little below 40$
I never realized that orange line han, Leia and boba were mentioned, I bought them when they came out and their boxes are just so messed up but the figures are nice lol
Glad to see I got Cara Dune, Fox, Clone Commander Obi, and I have Cody and Red pre-ordered. I remember hunting for a month for CC Obiwan. Finding him in the wild is one of my greatest BS achievements to date. I want the first edition Mando one day but not today that's for sure.

Re: that #1 special edition Mandalorian figure in white box, that was the very first figure I caved and bought from a scumbag eBay scalper. At the time, I managed to find all the other white box figures except for the Mandalorian, which had the local scalpers in a frenzy going store-to-store wiping them all out. My OCD was driving me nuts that I didn’t have it, so I went to eBay where they were all located. I want to say at the time I only paid $40 for it, so looking back it was a bargain. Now it’s one of the most expensive figures.

I found my Clone Commander very recently at a Walgreens that had 2 on the shelf. I had even left him on several occasions while fighting with myself on getting him at that time. I pulled the trigger when I thought the figure was bought but it had just been moved

I found a anakin Skywalker achieve under a shelf at Target and used the price comparison to get it for $16.99 !! 🤯🥳Then I discovered the paint on the face was slightly off, not sure if the extra sith head suffered the same fate. Does that give it extra value? Just curious 🤔

Glad you’re back, Matt. I actually have most of the figures on your list and I was lucky enough to get them for around $20 each. The notable exceptions I’m missing are the First Edition Mando and Bad Batch Rex. At this point, all I care about is getting Rex for a reasonable price.

I remember seeing one of them at Walgreen's and I even picked up the box and thought it looked cool in white, but I had zero idea what it was at the time so I put it back. Chump move on my part!
@@ChrisBurnham haha yea so it was a complete disaster on hasbros part. they didnt make it clear when or where to buy them. but it turned out that the first editions were only available on force friday, but no, they werent technically exclusives. some walmarts got them, and some targets as well i think. and then places like gamestop and walgreens got some too but like you said they would get like 1 and it would be random which one each walgreens or gamestop store got. and the disney store got stacks of the whole wave which really wasnt advertised. so yea, i did a lot of driving that day.
Dengar really deserves an archive release. This is the only figure that I need to complete the bounty hunter group from TESB.

Glad to see I got Cara Dune, Fox, Clone Commander Obi, and I have Cody and Red pre-ordered. I remember hunting for a month for CC Obiwan. Finding him in the wild is one of my greatest BS achievements to date. I want the first edition Mando one day but not today that's for sure.
