  • Eheim Pro 2 was leaking so I replaced the o-rings to fix the leaking canister filter. Also known as the Eheim 2028 model.
O-rings were all purchased at The O-Ring Store: www.theoringst...
All of the Orings used in this video were buna N (standard) o-rings.
I used a 4.50mm x 92mm for primer. It was much stiffer than OEM and made the primer push button hard to use. I would get a softer rubber.
I used 2.5mm x 12mm for flow control indicator and it worked great!
I used 3mm x 25mm for double tap connection. Again, worked great!
This video was orignially made in 2017 and uploaded to my old personal channel (where it received 40,000 views). Since I am closing that channel down, I wanted to keep this available for anyone else who it might help.
    Thanks for watching!

Good video. I hope Eheim does whats needed to regain their legacy reputation.

Great video, found an 2128 that went for next to nothing and was able to restore it to 100% functionality just by replacing the o-rings as mentioned. I got rings with 70 shore and the primer feels like it left the factory, but not too hard to press. Only the primer o-ring was broken, but replaced the lot, so all new.

the pump is keyed you can easily put it in from the bottom by turning it. You jammed the pump in and thats why your primimg doesnt work anymore. I had a 2026 sit empty in a garage for over 15 years and after i lubricated the main priming seal it worked like it was brand new.

Agreed! Unfortunately, I think the the harder rubber of the new O-ring I put in also made it an extra tight fit. I should replace that one with a softer rubber that matched the original better as well. Thanks for the help!

@@AnotherNerdyCanuck did you measure the oring with a micrometer or use the measurments off the thread in the cichlid forum?

I used measurements from the Eheim site (ordering replacement parts).

Oh, no, I think I just ordered the same o-ring for mine. My filter doesn't leak at all, but the priming pump is stuck in place. Maybe I should just leave it alone. I was hoping to restore the function.

Mine isnt leaking, but its intaking lots of air and exhaust pipe is making lots of bubbles. I guess the air comes thru old 7343150 oring. Maybe its time to replace it. Or could it be something else???

I'm not sure. O rings are probably the cheapest thing to change first?
