Luigi wins a mansion in a contest and his brother, Mario, goes missing there. It is your goal to search the haunted mansion to figure out where he is. Your weapons to protect you are a flashlight and the Poltergust 3000, a ghost vacuum. Capturing ghosts and collecting keys helps you progress in your quest to find Mario.
NEVERDOORS ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/N... ) improves their previous movie ( tasvideos.org/4577M ) by 35.3 seconds, thanks to a much improved Chauncey fight, being able to be defeated in one cycle. Please read the author's comments ( tasvideos.org/7893S ) for more details.

This run plays the Hidden Mansion, a mode unlocked after beating the game once that increases the power of the Poltergust and allows skipping some cutscenes.

Is hidden mansion TAS not split by version? Since PAL ver is diff to this in terms of layout and other things

TASVideos decided to label this category with 'Hidden Mansion' this time, just to denote the fact that it uses that mode / does not start from clean SRAM. PAL Hidden Mansion would be a completely different category given all of the differences, there are no changes to the mansion itself on NTSC version Hidden Mansions other than vacuum strength so it is used for all regular categories of the game in regular speedruns (as well as TAS, now).

It's only possible in the Hidden Mansion because the Poltergust 3000 is stronger.

If you let go and regrab Chauncey just as he kicks out you can keep going. I think its either frame perfect or like 2 frame window to pull off tho
