I shoot with a 11.8mm cynergy and it really elevated my game. I used to shoot with a 12.5mm Viking wood shaft. In the beginning I really didn’t like the feel of the hit. But after two months of consistent practicing, I’ve gotten so used to it and really don’t see myself playing with any other type of cue shaft.
I've both the Revo and the cynergy. They r very similar, but I would say I prefer the Cynergy now days. I change up every once in a while. Playing with the Z shaft currently
Great video! I shoot with the Cynergy 12.5 and really dig it. I am super curious about the SMO, really excited to see a non biased review. Also very interested in the Jacoby Black V4, I hear a lot of positive comments.
Thanks a lot for sharing this video. I own both the Cynergy and the Revo and definitely think the Revo has less deflection. Dr. Dave has a video on TH-cam that supports this with a demonstration and as a result, he also plays with the Revo 12.4. I completely agree with your assessment.
I hope you keep going man. We need some new Pool Nerds in the TH-cam pool scene. Also, the cynergy shaft is the best on the market. I have had mine for 4 years after selling my revo
I researched the Cenergy quite a bit as well as the Revo before purchasing. I ended up going with a Jacoby Black v4 11.8mm for my Schön. I love the 18" pro taper. I have a Richard Harris cue coming at the end of November and plan to purchase one for it also but considering going with the 12.3mm. Good video 👍🏻
@ColinGailey reading reviews about it on AZBilliards as to the feel of the hit vs the other two and the 18" pro taper I really like. I was able to hit with all three and felt the Jacoby fit me best. I had a Kamui Black Clear Hard tip put on mine from the start and it has great feedback.
@ColinGailey imo I believe the Jocoby has slightly less deflection than the Cenergy but a little more than the Revo. I feel it sits right in between the two. This was in comparison to the Cenergy 12.5mm 3/8x10 with stock tip and Revo 11.8mm Uni-Loc with stock tip. They are all real close. I didn't like the hit of the Revo compared to the Cenergy and Jacoby. I will say I almost went with the Cenergy over the Jacoby :)
I have 3 of the Cuetec truewoods.... would like another ! I have this shaft and use it on my 5 Schon Butts... my OB Butts... my Meucci 5/16x18 & 3/8x10....and my Predator Radial Butts. NOW, wood feels like it drags through the fingers.. but... I don't wear a Michael Jackson Glove. Carbon Fiber.... just seems like... it's right !!!! Good Video. Oh and I have 1 revo 12.4 radial. it's different but after a couple min. it feels the same. Good Video ! I've Purchased my carbon shafts... from Seybert's... and I always get my favorite tip on... when I buy it.
so here you might want to consider it upload someday; 1. hardness of the master tip (S-M-H) and the affect / feel along the shot execution 2. butt & shaft joints ( the material of collars such as implex , wood, ivory, steel ) and how they affect / feel along the shot execution 3. variety of grip on butt ( leather - linnen - wrapless ) how they can help players 4. wood vs. carbon that's all yours, have a nice day & may your channel grow fast
Cuetec cynergy is a great shaft . I had a 12.5 , unfortunately it had too much cueball deflection for my liking . I hope they make a 12.2 mm shaft in the future. Deflection will be closer to the 11.8.
With the rise of the Temu shafts, I think somebody needs to come out with something truly special… lol Yea, same with me.. I don’t like much deflection using carbon fiber a little with wood is okay
I’m Ralph from Florida. I play with a 12.4 Revo, which I love. I’m looking forward to your SMO shaft review. I’ve been looking at those for a while but haven’t found a review that I trust. Maybe you can cure that. Thanks.
What’s up Ralph.. First, I want to say thank you and I’m currently shooting with it now doing some drills before I record publish the video, I want to give it a fair shot. Look forward to giving you the best feedback possible
The z3 of z2 shaft? In comparison? Just restarted after some years, won some local tournaments but I can’t find a z2 anymore. My old z2 sold when i stopped. I find the z2 had less deflection and more feel than the z3.
Viking makes a good break cue, as for as their playing cue’s go they partnered with Ariel Carmeli which is a great cue maker. I have a Carmeli but haven’t used their shaft with it. What they’ve done with Carmeli I have really no information on or experience with. Pro’s are going to use whoever pays them, there’s no telling lol
I’m not sure.. That would be interesting, don’t know why the created different tiers of shafts but I am curious to know if there is any difference playing wise or is it all marketing junk..
Impressive draw shots . I can’t get any luck drawing the cb like that. Would you suggest a Revo, cuetec, SMO shaft? Yeah, I have neither of those shafts and never tried a carbon fiber cue yet. What does the diamond table sell for?
I appreciate it, I’ve spent at least 30 hours of table time on my draw shot alone and it’s still probably only a 6/10 at best. It takes time and practice and you’ll get to at least a full 9ft table worth of it guaranteed. Haven’t tested the SMO shaft fully just yet but right now Revo is my bread and butter.. Brand new 9ft was $10k
Have you tried any of the hsu kielwood shafts? Greats videos btw I tell all my friends to start with cuetec I think it’s the best all around shaft but I love my revo 12.4 with kamui medium or hard athlete tip
I’ve also been eyeing the S.M.O shaft since when I got my jflowers they only had one CF shaft that came standard with all their cues. Mines a 12.5 but I tried my buddies cynergy that’s 11.8 and it felt real nice whatever finish they use on the cuetec I’m hoping the S.M.O copied cause their original definitely is not as smooth as the cuetec 😅 it’s not that the jflower isn’t smooth it’s just that the cuetec felt like its extra
10.5 is a bold choice to try, im defently not THAT good of a player, but i've shot with an 11mm tip and the only thing i managed to do was hurt my own feelings haha
I’m going to test it and see, I’ve played pool with a snooker cue 8.5 I believe and it wasn’t that bad besides the cue just sucking itself. I’ll tell you rail shots are way easier to pinpoint with the smaller shaft. I learned that on a Chinese 8 Ball Table
Have a $250 birdseye maple Merry Widow with 12.5 carbon fiber shaft full cue review coming out by Monday. Still testing it to give you the best details. From a week of playing with it it is pretty impressive
nice video! definitely more informative, own 2 REVO 12.4 now with 2 different tips, the one with default tip hasn’t arrived, while i just tested the one with kamui original soft, definitely not used to it because carbon feels so stiff. Previously was using mezz ex pro, so the difference is not that great because ex pro has carbon core installed in the shaft, definitely have to get used to carbon fibre! 🥲
I play with a Cynergy 10.5. It gives me the precision that I wasn’t getting with the bigger shafts.
I shoot with a 11.8mm cynergy and it really elevated my game. I used to shoot with a 12.5mm Viking wood shaft. In the beginning I really didn’t like the feel of the hit. Yea after you’ve gotten so use to something it’s almost pointless to change

Good stuff, deciding to try the cuetec after using Revo for 2 years

Soft
good review now im curious about the jflowers carbon shaft especially their mid tier Crown shaft and how it compares to their premium S.M.O shaft

The rogue shaft by pechauer is great. It's what I've been playing with.
